I got really fed up last week after a big name scan tool left me stranded on 3 different newer vehicles. Ordered the Remote, got it today and so far I am super impressed with the Topdon Remote.
Cool video. Definitely looking forward to seeing more vids on it. I've had the Phoenix smart for a fee weeks now. Interface is a bit clunky but might just be that I'm use to the Maxisys and snapons.. Left me high and dry on a 2014 bmw 430 while trying to bi directional functions on low pressure cooling pumps. Tool said activated pump, but in actuality it wasn't... Autel came in for the win on that one. But hey, it picks up with VAG: vw/audi where Autel leaves off. But in the aftermarket you really need to have multiple scan tools along with OE subscriptions and j boxes. Thanks again for sharing!
Congrats on this huge purchase Bro😍 It's an expensive device, & from this video it has demonstrated it's capability👍 Really surprised to know that the Autoland couldn't do this one, it's is one of your preferred tool's for this type of job😉 Thanks for sharing Bro, Stay Safe👍
The lesser Phoenix Smart I own does have the same online programming capabilities. The Phoenix Elite and the Phoenix Pro also do online programming, but the Elite does not cover all the brands the other do.
You mentioned you tried multiple other aftermarket tools that didn't work, would you care to list them here as your other videos show you using some incredibly powerful, albeit expensive, tools.
@Welding Junkie IM608 is great but it won't beat that Topdon, I'm between Autel Ultra and Topdon Max , it's really hard to pick one especially when you're going to put that kinda money
Any joy with the Autel on this car, also have you noticed much improvement on VAG group with new big software update on the Autel from a few months back…..? 🤔🤔
Did you try doing this with the Phoenix Plus? I'm thinking about buying the Plus and the specs state that it supports Online programming for Porsche, Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda? Thanks
Topdon seems smilar to thinkpro and launch, did those fail to program as well? I have both launch and thinkpro and have had about 50% success programming
The system topology screen looks brilliant! Very like the Volvo dice set up (I spent a month working in the local Volvo dealership until I moved across the road to there Jlr dealership, what the fuck was I thinking 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️) …..!
what is the difference between launch x-431 throttle? because I saw that the software used by Topdon is from Launch. so brings something different with the software? because the platform is launch. Thank you.
Hey Mario what scann tool do you recommend for some that only has 400 to 600? I got the topdon 2023 Artidiag bidirectional but feel like I should of gotten the autel maxicom mk808? Or what others do u recommend❓🤔 thanks
My question, is this hacking it's way into Dealer servers, it seems like it tries and fails then heads onto another server to get in and down/upload config files, would you not have to pay the manufacture for D/Ling update files? I'd love a I.T techy to run Wireshark software to see how and what that scanner is calling out to.
Hey mario thank you for time and knowledge. I need your help with this codes defenitions for srs on a 16 bmw 535i -93090b and 930911. I can find any info on identifix there is also a cluster message that says restrain system fault. Hope you can help thank you again.
It would’ve been nice if it gave more detail as to what it was doing during the programming process. Personally I would have been extremely nervous that I was possibly causing additional problems!
This so true, definitely feel the same when doing software up dates on module with my Autel….! Especially after I completely crashed the high speed can network on a 08 mini after doing an update on it !
The Pro and the max have similar software, the biggest difference is the Max has an upgraded MDCI interface. It allows J2534, DOIP, CAN-FD, and RP1012. You can also add HD software to the Max.
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics not at all. The programming is a bit above my knowledge of using a scanner. Is that similar to flashing the ecm? I normally work anything older than 2015 lol

Almost any full functionality scan tool has to be updated yearly to keep it going. But at least it's not like autologic where not paying they're subscription will completely lock you out of using any part of the tool lol

"NAMING NAMES": Would be nice if you positioned yourself neutrally with the manufacturers so you could name names of scanners that didn't work because thousands of mechanics who devotedly watch your videos were expecting you to NAME NAMES so we could avoid buying a scanner that can't get the job done. Not all of us can afford a Phoenix Max so MOST of us will be in the market for a cheaper scanner and i guarantee you many hundreds of us will be buying a scanner that you did not name here that we would not buy if you had swallowed hard and named them in your video. It's obvious that you are more intimidated by those manufacturers who might get their feelings hurt if you named names than you are intimidated by letting down the multitudes of video viewers who rely on your obviously immense experience to lead us in both diagnosing difficult problems and purchasing equipment. I tell people all the time, "Watch Super Mario...he can diagnose any problem." Anecdotally, I am an avid motocross rider. Motocross magazines test dirt bikes in huge multibike comparisons called "Shootouts". They had an 8 bike "250cc Four-Stroke SHOOTOUT" this year. They will also do a 450 shootout and a 125 shootout and they'll do comparisons like which bike is easiest to jump or cheapest to maintain. I always buy the bike that tested best. Motocross Action and Dirt Bike magazines NAME NAMES. The manufacturers do not punish them for saying it like it is. If the Suzuki ranks dead last in testing these magazines SAY the Suzuki came in dead last. And then Suziki has an entire year to either fix the problems or not. Suzuki does not take advertising away from the mags if their bikes test badly. Suzuki does not withhold bikes from the magazines if their bikes test like crap. Riders learn NOT to buy the Suzuki. And, YES Suzuki will lose money because their bike did not test 1st. But Suzuki knows the magazines are here to test bikes and if they want to test better they need to build a better bike. And Suzuki does not waste time punishing the magazines who are merely the messenger here. Maybe you don't realize your own power? If you are afraid those other scantool manufacturers will penalize you maybe you should meet with them and tell them your job is to give a fair analysis of their hardware and please do not punish you for telling the thousands of consumers who rely on you that their machine was not up to the task. Are they going to argue with a man putting up Joe Rogan numbers? They NEED you! How valid is a test if it does not include comparisons? And, conversely, how valid is a tester whose opinions are clouded by his fear of repurcussions? Try pretending you are a newspaper reporter who reports on the news to the people without being pigeonholed by corporations and inside influences. When a product manufacturer or distributor takes product access away from you or takes away a monthly stipend or punishes you in any way because you told your thousands of listeners the simple truth that their product couldn't program a left headlight module they effectively punish all of your followers if your response to their aggression is to withhold the truth of their product's shortcomings. Let me tell you something, i am looking to buy a high end scantool this week. I have been watching test after test. You get the testers who don't know what they are talking about. You get the ones who test apples and oranges. And then you see a guy showing the relative performance of a scantool raving about how much better this tool is than the others but at the end your stomach falls out like you just rode the SUPER SHAKER at the carnival when he won't mention the slackers that couldn't get the job done because you are probably going to be buying one of those more affordable slackers and you just want to puke because the answer was in the palm of your hand but he says he isn't going to name the names of the other tools that he has been saying all along couldn't run with "THE BIG BOYS". When the manufacturers punish you for candor they betray you, and they also betray the very people who give you the LIKES that are a huge financial driver in the RUclips entity, and man, named Super Mario that we loyally depend on...
all these videos reminds me how little i want a newer vehicle.
