This pattern is made with the Missouri Star Large Simple Wedge Template, the Large Wing Template, and precut layer cake squares from Oceanica by Christiane Marques of Studio RK for Robert Kaufman.
And all those pretty spikes? They come together like a way-easier-than-it-looks disappearing quilt block: Stitch, slice, stitch. Voila!

WOW! I get a native American Indian vibe from this block. So easy, yet so pretty!
Yep, I was thinking a southwestern vibe…
Me too! I have made quilts for all my homes, this will be my New Mexico mountains quilt 😊
I just ordered templates and fabric for this. Yay!
I was thinking Southwestern as well.
I looked at the block and couldn’t figure it out. When you cut it in thirds, a light went on in my head!! It’s beautiful Natalie. Loved the tutorial. Would love to see more of your ideas and teaching.
I love it,nice.
You always come up with such wonderful surprises. I wish what we see in the tutorials would be in the BLOCK books. Keep up with the wonderful ideas and surprises.
Thank you, Natalie for another great project. Your quilt is beautiful, and you are a wonderful teacher.
It's amazing how easy it is to build a block like this when it looks so complicated. Thanks for another great tutorial, Natalie!
Thank you Natalie, this is a fun quilt. Something else for my must quilt list!
I enjoy your teaching style. I hope that this type of slow-sewing
tutorial can stick around. It was what drew me to your company's videos to begin my journey. I think there is a place for these for us who are not so advanced or confident in their quilting.
I love watching all of MSQC tutorials. I have learned so much from you ladies. You make everything looks so easy. You have given me courage to try several new quilt patterns. By the way you look amazing Natalie. You have lost so much weight. I hop-e it wasn't due to health reasons.
Wonder what this would look like in ombré fabrics?!! Great Southwestern quilt!! This is gorgeous!! Thanks, Natalie!!
Natalie is awesome!! I love seeing her wearing her favorite color, yellow. This quilt just got added to the "to do" list. 😍
Once again Natalie...great job😊
Think this is a very doable quilt for me to tackle! Which grandchild will get it? Think a grandson! Thanks, Natalie, for a great video!
Great block and quilt Natalie. 👏♥️🇦🇺
Natalie, this is beautiful! I think it would make a gorgeous 2 color quilt. Thank you for showing us how easy it is to make. You are a great instructor! ❤
I love this quilt and agree with others that it has a southwest vibe. I’d like to make it with one change: use a half block on the ends where you have the white blocks. It might require a small amount of print yardage. Nice job, you made it very easy!
Could be super pretty in solids or ombre or rainbow or anything. Very versatile and good for large prints.
Such a cool quilt! Running the blocks vertical would be neat too!
Thank you Natalie for thinking of everything while you teach.
I watch all the MSQC videos because I enjoy listening to you guys talk about your process behind your creations.
I have purchased many MSQC patterns for quilts and other projects. I have only made three quilts, one runner, and one tote bag. Which is not great for a 10 year period. lol
I have bought a ton of fabric from MSQC AND I can’t seem to stop buying it because it’s so pretty.
MSQC is the reason I was able to learn to quilt. I had wanted to learn for years and years before coming across one of Jenny’s videos. Thank you!
That is cool. I didn’t understand how it was made with that template until you showed us. You are a good teacher and I enjoy your presentation style. Nice job!
Natalie, I think you are brilliant! I just love everyone of your videos. I wish you did more videos because you are my favorite.
You've done it again Natalie! A gorgeous quilt and an easy method that only looks hard. You are brilliant at this and I'm always inspired by the way you do things. I think these blocks would also look good set vertically. Thank you!
Wow, Natalie,
Thanks so much for your easy to understand presentation of this great looking quilt block.
I believe your mama has some creative you tube competition! I do want y’all to know that I happily found your RUclips’s about ten years ago and that’s how I felt confident enough to try quilting. I do tell all my quilting buds about ya’ll. So an extra thank you for you gift of inspiring us to quilt.🌻💖🌻
Yellow is a great color for you. This pattern is beautiful. It would look great in Southwest Sunset colors. Great job 👏 👍 🎉 Natalie. 🎶💐💖🫂
I was also thinking Southwest colors. I live in Arizona and this could definitely bring out that influence.
I’m planning on doing the same thing 😊
Thank you Natalie!! This is beautiful 😍
Beautiful quilt. Thank you Natalie.
Congratulations to you from Mississippi. ❤
Gorgeous block Natalie. Thank you!
super cute Natalie!
Thanks for a great tutorial for a beautiful quilt Natalie.
When I first saw the quilt I was sure it was done with a half hexie ruler. A great surprise 🎉
Amazing and
Sneaky Cuts. I love it
Thank you Natalie.
Thanks sew much for this tutorial. I love your ideas and you are a great teacher. I love that you don’t upspeak.
Thank you, I think this will be perfect to put around wolf panels. It reminds me of arrowheads.
I just wanted to say how much I really, really, like the new MSQC rotary cutter! I have two (I’ve been known to “misplace” items so I try to have more than one of things I like!!! It feels wonderful in my hand and I do have a smaller hand than some people so that’s important to me. And it cuts beautifully! Thanks so much for this cutter - and thanks for the scissors, too!! I have the small and medium sizes (again I have at least two of each!). It’s great to have sewing items that I really feel comfortable using!!! And Natalie - thank you for another really great quilt - I can see so many different fabrics for this one - maybe some holidays😳😳😳
What a cool pattern. Think of Navajo Indians.
Thank you Natalie, what an interesting design and assembly! It’s always fascinating to see how a complicated looking design is actually so easy (well, except for paper piecing 😳 lol). Your explanations are great and you have a wonderful voice-so easy to listen to!! Thank you!!!
I see something different for my layer cakes... TY so much for this... Great Job Natalie! Hugs, GB
Natalie, i appreciate your brain!! Thank you for this tutorial and your teaching style. I am always amazed at how easy a block is when you all break it down for us. I really like this pattern, and I'm going to put it on my to-do list.

OMG! Natalie you are a genius. I created a similar quilt where i cut strips and snow balled each single one and it was a PAIN. This looks almost exactly the same and so much easier! Adding it to my list.
So impressive for a pretty easy quilt!

😮 OH MY GOODNESS. Who knew it was going to be this easy. Way to go Natalie. I’m definitely going to make this beauty. You explained so well, I feel confident I can do this. THANK YOU!!! 😃👊🏼
I am making a VERY similar block and the method they describe is 100 times harder than the one you are making! I wish I saw this first. If my fabric wasn’t all cut, I’d surely do it “your way”! Thank you, thank you! What a great tutorial!
Hey, Natalie!
Wow such a clever construction method! Always love your patterns and tutorials, although I don’t always comment.
Funny that you mentioned it, I noticed when I 👍🏻 at the beginning of the video that you have reached over 900K subscribers- but no surprise there! Way to go MSCQ!
Thank you, and Stay well!

Very nice block - one of those that's simple but looks complicated. I have the templates, and plenty of layer cakes, so I'll definitely give this a try.
