I'm so excited to be sharing some more beginner-friendly Cricut projects with you! I'm also showing you how to use Cricut Design Space that you can download for free.
A HUGE thank you to Cricut for sponsoring today's video and for sending me some of the supplies I crafted with in this video. You've seen me use it all over on my channel - so I'm excited to dive in and share more with you!
    #cricutcreated #cricutmade #sponsored #WhiskeyandWhit #CricutProjects
Cricut currently offers 3 different machines at three different price points and capabilities:
    the Cricut Joy: shrsl.com/2rh77
Cuts 50+ materials, including iron-on, cardstock, vinyl, paper, and Smart Materials™ - super-easy, super-long cuts without a cutting mat
You do need special mats for this size and you can't cut as wide of decals as you can on the machine I showed. I have a Joy, but I use it as a companion to my Explore Air 2.
    Cricut Explore Air 2: shrsl.com/2rh79
Cuts 100 materials - everything from cardstock, vinyl, and iron-on to a range of specialty materials.
For a beginner, this is what I'd recommend to get the most bang for your buck.
    Cricut Maker: shrsl.com/2rh7b
Cuts 300+ materials, from the most delicate fabric and paper to matboard and leather
If you plan to cut more difficult materials (like wood), while this is more expensive, it could be worth it. I don't have a Maker, but I would love to get one eventually!

Hi Whitney, thank you so much for doing this! My husband bought me the original Circut 16 years ago, right after we got married, then he bought me a Maker in August and I'm intimidated to use it. It's so different than using a cartridge, but your video really helped. I'd love to see more Cricut videos from you for sure. I'm not very computer literate, so that adds to my intimidation. This is one of the best beginner “lessons” I’ve seen Whitney. Thanks for taking the time to put this all together for us Cricut newbies. (I’ve had other Cricuts but never one to use with DS....I had the “old” kind that you used with cartridges. DS is definitely new to me.) Would love to see what you put together for baby gifts especially as well as the different ideas for the mini rolling pins. Thanks for all the inspiration! 🤗

Thank you so much Whitney! Like you said, I received my Cricut over the holidays & have been too intimidated to take it out of the box. I appreciate you showing how simple it can be to use the software & the tips & tricks you shared. Maybe I will try this weekend🙂

Love all of these ideas. I'm still trying to navigate Design Space, but I love it. I remember having the old Cricut and spent a lot of money on cartridges. I have the Air 2 now and love that everything is online. I too struggle with thin fonts and measuring. Thanks for the tips.

I can’t thank you enough for this video! You make that burlap bow look so easy! I got a Silhouette in November to try and make etched glass baking dishes and a trifle dish for Christmas gifts but I got extremely discouraged when I couldn’t get the vinyl weeded without stretching out the design and letters. :( But youve inspired me to give it another try!

Thank you for doing this...I got a Cricut for Christmas and I have been playing around with it. I used it to make a baby picture frame and baby milestone markers. I love these ideas and they would make great wedding gifts. I have had so much trouble with fonts and I tried using the Dollar Tree clear contact paper as transfer tape...it works some of the time, but not with these thin letters. I also got an easy press, but have not taken that out of the box yet. So much I want to do, but projects take me awhile because I am new and have issues sometimes.
