Love the idea of the center console with the hideaway hatch for women is awesome... I will definitely be looking forward to that while make my decision on which boat to start out with for my first family boat... My next way in the future one might be you 55 ft
I think I remember you mentioning in one of your videos that sealed decks can have issues in humid climates. I would really like to make a self bailing deck on my 23' power dory but I’m down in south Florida where humid is the rule. Can you elaborate a bit on what problems I might run into or possibly ways that I can mitigate any issues?.
No, you can seal the decks, you just shouldn't seal the inside. Here's a recent blog post: spirainternational.com/tipsandtricks/200601_finishing_the_insides.html Sealed decks are just fine.
Seems like kitchens are somewhat take up space,I see a lot of hulls frount of boat with sleeping space .what if the kitchen is put there an come up a step an lounging area with reclining seating an of course where to put the head?maybe depends on size u could put it along side kitchen sorta or near.someone like y’all would know how ,if someone wanted a plan such u are now knowing a new design could sell.billie
Thanks. I DO NOT want to put a Dennis cobble job cabin on a well designed hull. NO THANKS! I want an experienced boat designer with a naval architect’s eye (even if un-credentialed) to draw up the cabin for my world class (compact & home-built) cruiser.
Thank you for keeping this series going! Very informative!
Thanks Jeff another great video. A boat build is definitely in my not to distant future. I’m looking at several of your designs in the 30 foot range.

Calm down Jeff. Don’t get so excited.
