Got a ping from the developer of "Pickleball" this morning that they have removed the $0.00 tag from several of the UI elements, ultimately cleaning up the UI to look much less busy. So what it looks like at 06:29 is now a bit different!
In addition to a huge update on Menu aesthetics Pickleball also dropped the base price to $10.99 compared to $24.99 for Pickleball One and $19.99 for Pickleball Pro. Racket club is a limited game. You can't even do a lob in it because the court is so shallow. Lob is many people's favorite short. Forget about lobs in Table Tennis as well as the player can't climb on the table :) Locked in physics system is not better than a system where the player can tune every physics parameter. You missed several nuances of movement for example Pickleball allows joystick movement in all teleportation and auto-run modes unlike other games you reviewed. The teleportation is broken in Pickleball One since it happens while the ball is in flight rather that simultaneously with the hit.
@@vkapoor69Have you tried Racket Club yet? If not, you’re actually missing out big time. Not gonna lie, the game looked weird and uninteresting at first cuz the court is so shallow and narrow. You can still use lobs to your advantage if you want but where the game shines is smashing it against the walls.
The only thing I disagree with squashy is the Racket Club & Eleven ranking. I put racket club at #1 over Eleven because I actually get a decent workout in and I’m able to take my frustrations out on the glass barriers with full tennis-like swings. I’m in love with racket club right now and can’t wait to see where it goes. The “club” area is a GENIUS idea which every racket game should copy.
Great video, as usual squash.
@@brianpowers7392 I haven't tried it yet. There is a Padel mode in Pickleball as well with walls. Option to scale the court to fit your space is being worked on in addition to auto-run and teleport already there. I have played rallies hundreds of shots long to fight for every point so I was sweating a lot after a single game. So one can get a good enough work out in 20 min. Eleven never impressed me because it doesn't have teleportation and I don't have a room half as big as a full size table tennis arena.
@@brianpowers7392 I got Racket Club and there is no way a lob can be effective because the court is so shallow. The back wall should be much higher like it is in Padel Mode in Pickleball. There are no extra features like baseball, Cricket, Zombies FPS, Mirror mode, fully programmable ball machine, etc. Club concept is OK but I am only interested in playing the game not watching others play so its pretty useless for me. What use is walking between the courts with the joystick when one can be playing on the court all the time? :)
@@brianpowers7392 It is a weird game lacking in features. I purchased it yesterday. There are too many feature gaps to list here.
Finally a detailed and complete review of racket sports in VR ! I was a big fan of Eleven Table Tennis and needed an "upgrade" about all these new releases ;-) thanks a lot !
Thanks, Keri! Glad you found it useful!
Thank you. Nice catch on the movement issue.
Really high quality content! 👍🏻 good stuff, your channel is going to have a huge year
Bless! Thanks, JS!
Thank you so much for this review! This was really helpful
Heyo! Glad to hear it!!
Thank you. I wondered what racketsport is the best and you answerd that question perfect 🎉 I know vr padel is comming soon.
I hope! I've never gotten to played Padel in real life, and I'm jealous of Europe!
You don't have to hit the ball before hit hits the back wall in Racket Club. You can hit the ball off your own back wall and over the net if you want.
I think the physics in Racket Club is better than Eleven.
That's a bit tough to compare, but definitely not impossible. Eleven is trying to replicate physics, Racket Club has freedom to do whatever physics they want since it isn't an actual sport. I think both are really solid.
Eleven by far is the best to be honest, from experience after playing eleven for a while, I swithced to ping pong in real life for the first time and i was really good.
RC is glitchy (laggy, ball goes through racket and walls, people randomly win/lose points for no reason, etc). Devs couldn't care less (update after update they just ignore the issues and release new useless features instead) so honestly don't waste your time. yes, the idea is nice, but execution not so much.
The dev of First Person Tennis has been called out on a couple discord chats of other tennis games (Court Time Tennis and Match Point Tennis) for their blatant badmouthing of other games physics and claiming FPT is “objectively the best tennis game with the best physics”.
But it's true, especially with tons of new training features in the last update
I wasn’t sure I was gonna mention it ever but I’ve had very similar dealings with FPT developers, borderline harassing me to edit my review. Apparently my opinion regarding “best tennis physics” really pissed them off cuz I happen to prefer Tennis Esports physics.
The developer badmouthed all the other racket games, pointing out how FPT physics is CLEARLY superior to everyone else. No ifs ands or buts… glad they aren’t biased lol. So I received TWO replies in my review, both telling me I’m wrong and to “discuss further in discord”. Seriously, it’s one stinkin semi negative review (3 stars) and they couldn’t accept it.
If that was the end, it prolly wouldn’t have pissed me off, but the developer went out of their way to DM me on Oculus to continue harassing me to change my score.
Funny thing, in my original review a year ago, I mentioned Squashy in my review and how he never steers me wrong. I guess it was Squash who recommended it to me back then. Anyways, the developer DM’ed me and said “and by the way, NobleSquashy says FPT is the best”.
I mean, come on…. The groveling and begging is overboard lol. It makes it seem as though a bunch of preteens are in charge of Mikori Games.
I seriously wouldn’t be shocked if FPT sees my comment here and responds again lol. I’m halfway expecting it
fellow packet pusher!
Consider me your VR Racket Sport Sherpa!
Racket Club looks like the sport Padel!
It is definitely the closest to Padel! Just not a lot of my viewers know Padel, so I figured relating it to Tennis/Pickleball is a bit easier. I've still never gotten to play Padel in real life. Hope to one day.
I play padel alot in my country, and yes it's mix between pickleball and padel together and the size of court and movement its perfect for vr , but you just need bigger space to play , to me its my number one racket vr game amazing , second its eleven table tennis .
Quest 3 getting C-Smash. Time for a video.
I am pumped! Will probably add a pinned comment here!
Hey novlesquashy, quick question if you don't mind answering. I don't want to spend the time buying and returning all the games. I'm a paraplegic and my best friends are able bodied. We're all competitive and want to play against each other regularly. I know I'll have a slight disadvantage, but of the racket games, which will be most playable for me seated? Thanks.
I think my top 2 are also excellent for seated use as well: Eleven and Racket Club, with Racket Club taking a slight edge in my opinion.
With RC being so new + having the set surroundings use + active development of new modes, I would try Racket Club first. If you don’t like dealing with the wall, then try Eleven!
All the pickleball and tennis games aren’t great seated imo. Tennis eSport’s has the best teleportation, so I would choose that as 3
clearly the answer is just putting on a headset and playing real table tennis on pass-through
Is the question: "What is the meaning of life?"
Would you recommend getting Racket club or Pickleball Pro
I would suggest Racket Club!
Pickleball Pro is not a full fleshed game yet. Racket Club is feature complete!
@@noblesquashy yeah I decided to go for racket club and it’s pretty good
@@noblesquashy Just tried it out in my living room (a much larger space) and this game might be my favourite yet even beating table tennis
@@NUFC_Mason I'm so happy to hear this!!! Enjoy and I hope to see you on the court soon.
Why are Racket NX and Cybrix minigames?
They are significantly different to the other 9 included on this list. I consider a minigame to be a significant spin off of a traditional mechanic usage. Like Battle Mode in Mario Kart. It is still a full fledged game mode, just a drastic change from the traditional.
Pickleball 1 is just not very good. Physics v v weird.
Totally agree, it’s not hitting realistically.. pickleball pro VR has much better physics…
Racket club way much better reason U don't put it as ur number 1 is cos U need to move around with racket club lol joke bro but all fairness U don't get a sweat with elven table tennis racket club is jus a whole body workout especially when U get a person who dropshots U constantly I will find that person n give em a whack i twisted my ankle
fell asleep 1 minute in
I just got that soothing voice, ya know?
