Thank you! Good demo! I’ve got this guitar and I loved it immediately. I’ve been collecting for 40 years and for some reason this thing makes me happy!
I've had this guitar for a bit more than half a year now, in arctic white, and it sounds amazing and plays great, but there is one fat issue with it - the weight distribution. When I play standing or just hold it by the strap, the neck dives real hard (like, almost 45 degrees below horizontal), it's quite a job for my left hand to keep it in the right position. I'm thinking of changing the neck strap button placement to where it is on Gibsons, but I'm not sure it will help. Aside from that - this is an amazing guitar the way it sounds, feels and plays (and looks, gosh Firebirds are cool). Great stuff.
Cool to hear another tall guy, who says that he feels more comfortable on bigger body guitars^^ Tested a Gretsch Streamliner a week ago, felt very good in my junkyard-hands 😃 Nice review🤘
An original Firebird is made of one piece of wood, which means the neck is not a separate part of wood that got glued to the body. This is what gives the firebird its unique sound. I don't think that on this model it is the case, as the price is low. Anyway, it looks great!
Oh boy !! I want one. I’ll even grow a massive beard 😂 It looks and sounds mega Andy. Superb rocker!! It seems to be a great price for what you get. I honestly can’t stop looking at it. Great Video Andy 😀👍👍🤟 Fierrrrrr
So, I was just watching Jonny Winter doing Jumping Jack Flash and thinking "why don't I have a firebird" and this is the very next video on my feed.. Destiny?
@@TheGuitarGeek There doesnt seem to be a lot of Firebird options out there. Especially with through-body construction. The Gibsons are gorgeous, but the current line up is waaaay out of my price range. The Epiphone is terrific but it only comes in tobacco burst which isnt my thing. Would you conisider a Firebird episode with some other good and perhaps odd-ball options? If someone was making some metal-flake Firebirds, I would be taking out my credit card. I love your videos man! Fiiirreeeeeeeeeeer!!
Gad dayum, I love Firebirds. Any idea how old that beauty is? I'm not even sure if Tokai are still around, but when I first started learning guitar in the 80s they were 🔥fire🔥. I also remember they got their arses sued regularly because the companies they copied didn't like how good their copies were.
Firebird being FIYUUUR af. just business as usual. Really cool axe. I wonder how big it would look on me though, I'm quite a bit shorter than you are. 🤣
Whether you consider buying a Firebird or an Explorer, you will dfinitely need a case or a gigbag, add that to the price. I think Tokai is a good brand, but not as good as they used to be when they were made in Japan. Great wood selection, but the "original" Epiphone is even cheaper! Tonewise I am not convinced yet. Did you take it home?
I like it but how can they rip something off so much as to even using the firebird on the pick guard and getting away with it?Hey more power to 'em screw big guitar.Just wondering.
Tokai Firebird copies sound great. I know I had one. Great fit and finish too. But OMG the neck dive is out of control. Worse than the Gibson firebird by a wide margin. It makes it near impossible to play standing as you are constantly struggling to keep the neck up. I sold mine due to this. The other issue with all Tokais from my experience is complete lack value second hand. No one wants them at any price. Cant give them away.

Friedman vintage t classic if your buying Andy 😁
the non-cutaway double humbucker guitar with the split headstock…just behind the amp in the video. is that a B&G?
@@dclange no, it’s a Maybach little wing

Well… I’ve got a streamliner coming to the channel in a few days!
I don't know if it was just the pedals or the amp, but the guitar sounded FYYYYREEE!

Fyyyyer, this Tokai shall not burn!

I've a friend who swore by his Tokai FB so much so he sold a Yamaha SG2000 but kept the Tokai. Says a lot to me. FIRE!
Wow. That does say a lot
That guitar ignites the fire 🔥 in you 🤘
Your playing is on fi-yer today!
So glad you went back to play it 😊🤟 caught my eye that one too.
I have a Firebird … back in Chicago. 😕
I only brought my Tele & SG with me to record with in Hollywood. I miss the other kids.
Gorgeous setup

Cheers Tom. I love how different the firebird is. This wood and finish seems more beautiful than the epiphone S

Or a scary algothrim 😉
It's beautiful. It also looks looks like it weighs 20 lbs. Is it as heavy as it looks?
Nope! It’s Mahogany so it’s pretty manageable
fiIRE. Love me some firebird guitars. Looks like a great value!
I think its around the cheapest you can go without it feeling and sounding cheap if you know what i mean

Freebird on a Firebird?
Fuzz bird!!! Yes!!!
I'd love to get it, yet the neck dive (same problem with the Epiphone fb) is a no go. Too bad.

Good point on the case! I didn’t take it home and then it sold. I regret that!
