Powerful story of courage and intervention. Emily's strength to speak out, despite years of abuse, and the Navy SEAL's brave action to protect her is truly inspiring. A reminder that kindness and standing up for what's right can make a world of difference.
This story is incredibly powerful and emotional. The moment at (20:45) when Emily finally speaks out about her pain and stands up to her father is deeply moving. It highlights the resilience of a young girl despite the abuse and the importance of a supportive figure like Lt. Hayes. Truly inspiring storytelling!
Emily's strength is truly inspiring. My heart aches for what she's been through, but her courage and determination light up even the darkest moments. She deserves all the kindness and care in the world. 💕
Wow, this video really got me! 🤯 It’s crazy how a simple act of kindness can make such a huge difference. The Navy SEAL stepped in at the perfect moment to show what true strength and compassion look like. 💪❤ Kudos to him for turning the situation around, and I can’t imagine how much that girl must’ve appreciated the support. 🙌 Anyone else got chills watching this?
Wow, it’s incredible how a stranger, in this case, a Navy SEAL, stepped in to help in such a powerful way. It just goes to show that sometimes the right person in the right place can make a huge difference. The way this situation unfolded is a reminder of the importance of standing up for what’s right.
This story broke my heart for Emily. No child should endure such abuse, especially from their own parent. Andrew Hayes is a true hero for stepping in and showing her that someone cares.
I grew up in as n abusive family with 2 alcoholic parents. In my very early ,20s even after I was married, bless my wonderful husband, I wound up testifying in court in my parents ' hugely messy divorce I did what Emily first in the did That is the force of an abusive family. I am 83 years old and still getting counseling for growing up as the eldest in an abusive, manipulative family. I have raised 2 children and still fear that I have tainted them because of my background, but they are in their 50s now and seem well-grounded and are very. Successful. I have worked so hard to break the chain of abuse but know I didn't always manage--and I tell them that and always talk about where I failed
"Incredible story! Emily's determination to rise above her past and the SEAL's willingness to step in highlight the importance of bravery and humanity. Truly inspiring!"
I was really struck by Emily's quiet strength throughout the video. Even in the face of so much pain, she managed to hold herself together and even spoke up at the end. That’s incredible bravery for someone her age. Emily’s resilience is so inspiring. 🥺✨
As the parent of a disabled child that requires orthotics, braces and other devices to walk properly and have full functionality of a mostly paralyzed limb, I say with my whole heart when it comes to your child cost is not an option
This video was incredibly powerful and emotionally gut-wrenching. The portrayal of Emily's complex situation, caught between a physically abusive, alcoholic father and her own desperate desire for his love, was both heartbreaking and infuriating. The script did an excellent job of slowly building tension, from the initial therapy session where the father's frustration with the costs of Emily's care is palpable, to the bus ride where his cruelty and anger escalate, and finally the confrontation at their house. The way the story highlighted the nuances of domestic abuse, how it can be both physical and emotional, and how it is often masked or minimized by the victims themselves, was masterful. I was on the edge of my seat, hoping that someone would step in to help. The character of Lieutenant Hayes was a beacon of hope in a very dark situation. His intervention was not just about physical protection, but his empathy and understanding of the underlying trauma were crucial for Emily to finally speak her truth. The video did an amazing job of portraying that abuse isn't just about being hit, but the constant belittling and disregard for someone's humanity that was so evident in the father's language. It was a reminder that often the ones closest to us are the ones doing the most harm and we need to fight to protect the most vulnerable amongst us. The realistic way in which the community failed Emily, from the bus driver to the officers, highlights a very real issue that abuse victims often face when trying to get help and how the social structures don't necessarily protect the most vulnerable. Ultimately this video was an amazing piece of storytelling that tackles important societal issues.
Wow, this is a really intense and heartbreaking story. It's so hard to watch Emily go through all of this, especially the way her father treats her. It's like he sees her disability as some kind of personal failure on his part, instead of just acknowledging that she's a kid who needs support and understanding. The scene in the hospital room, where he's just focused on the cost of her therapy and not on her progress or well-being, is absolutely infuriating. And then, of course, he goes and drinks his vodka right after, making everything ten times worse. The way he berates her about the therapy costs and her "uselessness," it's just brutal. You can feel the weight of his words on Emily and the shame she carries with her. I really felt for her in that bus station scene. And then, seeing how the pressure cooker situation on the bus just continued to escalate, it's almost too painful to watch. That Navy Seal, Lieutenant Hayes, is a real hero in this story, even when it looked like he might be over-stepping his boundaries at first. I was actually holding my breath, hoping he was going to step in, and was just thinking, "Please, someone, intervene." What a contrast to her father, who is clearly spiraling out of control. It was so brave of Emily to finally speak out, but man, the way her father was just so consumed with rage and violence, even with Andrew trying to de-escalate things. Her finally being honest and speaking up for herself after all the years of abuse was a little satisfying, but incredibly heart-wrenching at the same time. I'm just so glad the police were finally called. I only wish that bus driver wasn't such a wet rag - a lot of people turn a blind eye, but he had a professional responsibility. It's hard to hear how Emily recanted what happened though, you can just feel her fear there. It's heart-warming, though, that Andrew was so empathetic to her situation and willing to fight for her, even with a really sad personal backstory. What a terrible life that kid is living. I hope she finds peace and happiness in her future.
Don’t y’all look at your pictures. The Navy SEAL’s picture is backwards-medals go on the left side. And he has Commander’s bars and star on one shoulder and Lieutenant’s bars on the other. Also, Navy Whites don’t have shirt collars. And by the way, it’s Lieutenant not LT, unless you’re under a Lieutenant’s command.
I don't like the word "failed". It's very critical of others. The passengers didnt fail, they had no idea what to do because of a tense, difficult situation and they didn't want any added confrontation whatsoever.Emily must've been extremely terrified at her dad's face.Yes its a scary and dangerous situation, however i hope Emily was saved and it was a happy ending .No one should ever be criticized whatsoever.
Anyone that witnesses things like this and choose to ignore it or or decide to stay out of it are just as much to blame because all they had to do is speak up and actually help someone clearly in need it's truly disgusting how many people turn a blind eye to these things. I am so grateful for those like this navy seal willing to stand up and fight for those who can't fight for themselves. The lieutenant is a good man and sets the standard as to how we should all be he truly saved 2 lives.
They didn't even hurt the pop's daughter, nit physically anyway,This is a huge man,I don't mess with folks larger than me.Rather be safe, I value my life well that way.
The seals don't use a distinctive uniform, just the standard navy uniform. And the story is so sad why a working American father needs to bankruptcy himself to pay his daughter medical treatment. He is drunk and disgusting now, after paying thousand of dollars to the wonderful business of the for profit medicine
This video is way too long they drag out the story. I actually could get to the point maybe they pay a certain amount of money and they’re gonna get their moneys worth and not consider just getting to the point
Alcoholic, or not doctors and specialists people with no money can't pay.even if stopped drinking, they will never be able to pay (such is life) Americans medicals cost out of all there reach in America. Don't even if her Dad didn't drink no solution
PART 2 Is Out NOW😊

A GREAT STORY THANKS FOR SHARING IT. THANKS FOR YOUR MILITARY SERVICE.

Wonderful and emotional story.. But there is a bit of duplicated dialogue at about 40:20. There is also spelling errors.
All is forgiven UK NHS (National Health Service)!
She can’t asses the danger she is already undergoing.
This couldn't happen in the UK well it could but the reasons would be different as we have the NHS.
We keep trying to get National Health Care but the wealthy would rather get a tax break even though they don’t pay taxes. Stupid isn’t it!
awww😢😢
The Tooth Fairy is the one who helped, not the SEAL.

Why in every story does have to repeat the same lines two or more times?
