My kids never went without a meal unless they refused to eat the meal. Even then, the meal was available if they changed their minds. I went without eating to feed my kids several times. My kids refused to eat meat and I didn’t force them to eat meat. I made them vegetarian meals but also offered meat. It was their choice. My kids never went hungry unless they refused to eat, they usually ate their vegetarian meals. They loved them. My kids loved broccoli, Brussel sprouts and carrots. I would go to get the broccoli because we made weekly meal plans together and the broccoli was gone. I would yell upstairs “ where is the broccoli “? And would hear back 2 voices saying “ it was delicious “! So I would have to go to the grocery store and buy more broccoli. They are now both in their 30’s and still rarely eat meat.

A woman’s scorn can be awful. We’ve all experienced it or someone who has.

Oh so true unfortunately so true. My family moved frequently because of job changes. In Ohio, third grade Miss Weber was awesome. Fourth was horrible with Ms. Barth. It was obvious she hated my guts. I did my work butI ignored her being mean. I had enough. She told me I had to stay after school. I told her I couldn't because I had flute lessons. She became angry. I told her I wish she would lose her job. 😁. My Mom, Principal and teacher and I had a meeting. I spilled my guts. I was the only white girl in the class. I changed classes.

This is a really good story, however it has some inconsistent details within the storyline.
