Good to see Richard in good health at 83 years. Long Live The King.
Ikr espically after his 1970 Darlington crash, his 1988 Daytona crash, and his 1992 pocono crash
@@blackhawkrescue5fromroblox151 I think the king has always been so active both mentally and physically that's probably his secret
@@Mxpositive48 True but I mean those flips were violent
@@blackhawkrescue5fromroblox151 definitely it's probably just luck is the reason why the king is still walking now at 84
Long live the king sounded wrong in my head
Didn’t expect to see his cars character in there
Same
I mean it was actually him in the movie
@@zenon459 wait are you for real
@@darknova1552 yes, he voiced the king in the movie

NASCAR, listen up. More, more, more, more history interviews. Pettys, Wood Brothers, Alabama Gang, Ricky Rudd, Million Dollar Bill, Buddy Arrington, Jimmy Means, Dave Marcis, High Wide and Handsome, Morgan Shepherd, Rusty, Mark, Texas Terry, to name a few I would love to hear.
Check out the Dale Jr podcast..he’s done interviewed most of who you speak of. They are in a studio, not a garage though.
Yes
Really enjoyed this interview. I live about 2.5 miles from Richard, about 3.5 miles from Dale, and about 5 miles from the Petty Museum. I've seen him several times, both at the museum and at the local gas station. He's always wearing his cowboy hat, sunglasses and boots, and seems very friendly and down to earth. I also ran into Dale Inman at the local Walmart one evening; he actually complimented me on something I was wearing, so I took that as an opportunity to shake his hand, say hello, and congratulate him on being inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He was very nice and cordial; I also see him out mowing his grass quite often during the summer. As far as the museum, it is definitely worth the trip; Richard's gun collection alone is amazing, not to mention his trophies, and his, Kyle's and Adam's race cars and memorabilia.
This man won 200 races and 7 NASCAR CUP Championships. Richard Petty is the King!
2 actual living legends...
Very true
What I wouldn’t give to be able to sit in the same room as this man for an hour and listen to him tell stories
I just love the fact that he has a full Dinoco livery car 😂
Disney making the movie CARS only cemented this man’s legacy
Richard KING 👑Petty #1 forever
Richard Petty is a national treasure.
I'm Indonesian, and I don't even watch NASCAR, but when I still had PS1, and played NASCAR, I always chose this number 43, and I still remember his name, and I just found out that he is a legend. 👑
Happy Birthday to "The King", many more to go.
We were on our way to Myrtle Beach from NY and happened to go to the museum on a Monday and Richard was there, what a great man talked to us and posed for a picture. Very cool things in the museum well worth a visit if you are ever in the area or even a special trip to see it. Will not be disappointed if you are an old school Richard fan.👍
I went to the Museum in September it was great. I wish I could have met Richard. I'm 72 and did meet him a few times at the old Asheville Weaverville speedway back in the 60's. If you haven't been to this place you should go, it is at the top of nascar history
It's so cool to have the same last name as Richard Pettys crew chief
Wow. Cool
Richard petty = the king
Man Mr. Petty doesn't even look older! He still looks great!!
He still looks like a refreshed 50-year-old even if he is in his elderly age
Grew up watching Richard Petty race. Nascar back in the 70's and 80's had a exciting rawness about it. Petty decals on my gokart. Richard Petty slot cars, model kits, watching Nascar racing on TV with my dad. This was a great little video.
Cool shyte 😎🏁
2 OF THE GREATEST MOTORSPORT ICONS OF ALL TIME
King Richard Petty is the best Wishing him and his family and his race team will. And all the best for 2021 Take Care Sir
Thank you mr. Petty thank you mr. Inman for sharing this I remember when.
I grew up watching him. I really love these guys.
It would be a dream to come see the museum, I have always been a fan of Richard Petty. Ever since I was 5 years old and watching the first ever Disney Cars film. The KING and Tex Dinoco were always my favourite characters ever since I was little and will always be my favourite! One day! I will come see this incredible museum. It’s a mission I have to complete!!
Back in 2004 , I was visiting family in Virginia and while there took a drive down to Levelcross . The museum was small , located at the front of the shop . The shop was a row of single stall garages along side the house where he was born . I have many photos of my visit , my excitement at the time was off the charts . The last car his dad drove , the last car he drove (that caught fire ), Adams car , many trophies , awards , even a display case of his belt buckles . The entrance to the building was alongside the driveway to the house , and as I was walking out the door to leave , Richard's wife was pulling in the driveway and gave me a little wave and a big smile ! A memory I could never forget !
Heyyy!!! 😄
Good to see Nascar is a big fan of Pixar Cars
Richard Petty was my favorite driver. I would buy a general admission ticket to the Riverside International Raceway jump the fence to get in the grandstands at the esses and watch Petty drive straight through in the dirt.
“Look but please don’t touch” lol okay
yeah they don't want the tens of thousands of people a year who come through the museum to touch everything, I don't think Richard has to follow the same rules in his own museum.
Thank you Richard Petty I was at the Daytona when you want all your races and had all your wreck you are definitely the king thank you thank you so much
I love Richard petty so much and I love the camp that he does
Richard Petty for ever
Love the back and forth between Dale and Richard.
Liked because Dale uses the word “kindly” in place of “kind of” and that reminds me of my Papaw.
Richard Petty was probably the best driver that we ever had in NASCAR history
Allan Catellier No probably he was the best that ever lived
Debatable.
@@Nighthawk268 you may be right but it is my personal believe you may have your own believe.

I wish NASCAR would go back to them olden days
I assure you would find the olden days boring and dry.
I rather the older days
They had better playoffs structures. That now.
And i rather how they made older paint schemes that now.
kasia kos It was a hell of a lot better back then. You know through the years it growed. It has went down hill attendence way down. Even b4 the plandemic bristol was lucky to get 40k in attendence. I remember at one time they got near 160k Tickets were impossible to get aint that way now.I remember as a kid going to smoky mtn raceway. They would qualify and then run the race.People now says they werent no competition. Well I guess it was a figment of my imagination. Love the king and his museum! I was fortunate to visit the museum in 2019, and I need to go back again.
What an awesome video! Amazing persons and absolutely legendary race cars. I love The King's Plymouths, mainly the '67 Belvedere and the Superbird. Outstanding! Thanks for this video.
Richard Petty the king ✌️
👌
KoOl Interview. I love those old racing stories.
Richard is the King, not just because of his win record (as he and others have stated, he raced during a different time and so it is difficult to accurately compare him and others in terms of wins) but because of his attitude towards NASCAR and fans, his love and encouragement of the sport, his participation in shaping the early years of NASCAR and the innovation of some of the safety features (such as the window nets); it takes all of that to be the King.
Just wondering how competitive that Superbird would be today? Bet it would surprise quite a few people.....!
No headrests in a race car (even in the 80s!) - I have no ideas who these guys survived even a single crash!
Underbird Different times just as in ww2 with the greatest generation when men were men knew which restroom to use. No power steering chrome bumpers bias ply tires. If a man done you wrong helmets or water bottles werent thrown fists flew. Them days ended about 1979. Earnhardt had he have been in his prime would have worn several beat downs in the 60s thru the 70s
@@robtans5042
Men back then died of basal scull fractures just as they do today.
@@automan224 rather be a boomer than the alternative
I love when the king says WHAT
When I was a kid back in the 70s Richard was my hero and still is because he is still the template for success and Christ...
Listening to avenge sevenfold "hail to the king" on my phone and this video pops up in my feed on my laptop. Awesome!
Close your eyes and listen to Dale Inman. Sounds like Richard Childress
Definitely a North Carolina accent.
And Tom Higgens (Author of The Tim Richmond Book)
The 2 greatest to ever show up to the track
Don’t forget Maurice. He had a much lower profile but was every bit as important as the two men here.
RIP Dale Earnhardt
Very cool, hope to get there some day soon!!! 👍👍👍
Had his toy hauler and car when I was a kid 30 years ago! Always liked him
