You can lock the slots, so you can't get encumbered and if you see the zombies don't disappear, it is time to check your inventory At least it works for me this way
Ur companions have like 30 slots it's not a big deal + they tend to drop the same shiz so it's ez to remember, manage/the majority of its ammo, cloth, genetics, hide, meat, bones and the heads which is all stuff youll use
Autoloot goes to your pets, drones, and mercs to keep your inventory clear. Personally, I keep the genetics, rotten flesh, cloth, running shoes and college jackets on the followers. There is also an autoloot container for your base that will pick up loot bags that drop nearby.
Pretty sure you have already found a replacement for that post you have at your fighting position. I like to use the cube 1/4 side centered pyramid block. It's a bit longer so you can get maybe 2 or 3 in a row for that AP ammo. But it is also a bit wider for a good up front fighting position. And like always, a good knockback clears them off.
Oh man, Waif is still out there! Im glad that hes here, use to play UL with him but we stopped because it died out and i havent gotten back to him since. Reminds me of the good times 🥺
Especially with how often screamers spawn from running crafting stations, you might as well have a funnel/fighting position at your crafting base anyway. Just try to put your storage on blocks that are fully supported down to bedrock and you'll be fine :D
@@GunsNerdsandSteel I know you’ve got an algorithm tight rope to walk, I’m just giving you a hard time brother Lol I showed my wife that you have greyhounds as well, we’ve got 1 rescue named Ragnar, so every time she hears, “what the dog doin?” She yells “I wanna see!” Hahah.
Something I've noticed when trying to figure out why zombies damage a horde base ramp and is something I don't see mentioned a lot : it seems that when zombies get obstructed by other zombies (or dogs or whatever), they stop pathing and start attacking the ramp or path to you. I was a big fan a the tiniest pole as a bridge until I figured out that so many zombies were "stalling" and attacking the ramp with seemingly no reason to; they hadn't been damaged, didn't fall, or anything else that would trigger ragemode. I'm not sure why certain ramps do it more then others, but its sometimes the only explanation. I did end up putting a larger bridge so the zombies don't block each other quite as much and it seemed to help. Anyway, had anyone had this issue as well?
I really hate Mario, but I have found myself loving the sound effect whenever you make those comedy falls. I know it not on purpose as no one wants broken legs but it is a good way to make light of a bad thing.
@@GunsNerdsandSteel I vote for Rebirth, I am using them in vanilla v1.1 b14. Tested them last saturday and they still worked as intended. Great episode, getting stronger for sure!
Couple really short tips. As soon as you able - craft Heat Detection Mod and Loot Gathering Unit. First is obvious. no need to explain. but second one iis very helpful on the horde nights. It will collect any loot bags automaticaly within your land claim block area. Also if you have Better Barter perks, on level 1 you can ring your bicycle bell near trader doors and they will open. There is even more QoL in the Pack Mule leveles
Awesome series so far quick question do you know if this will come to the mod launcher that you used/showed for your afterlife would love to try this but i dont know mods which is why i loved that mod launcher you showed
@GunsNerdsandSteel awesome ty looking forward to see if there is a class then can heal like the doctor zombie combined that with dogs and mercs and you have a hopefully powerful build. Thank you again and looking forward to your next episode
Ammo production is crucial for leveling your ranged weapon I’ve found. I rarely craft in other play throughs but it’s become a high priority for Rebirth
In DF what I do is put my weapons in the s1-5 slots so given that in combat I'm 80% of time holding down shift for dear life I'm always gonna go to my guns. It's really easy a habit to get into and it frees the firs five slots to stuff like healing, frames for emergency nerpoling and throwables.
The reason your dogs get items you don’t get is because they have an “auto sort” attached to them. So let’s say you put 9mm ammo in your pet, anytime you get 9mm from a chest or zombie, it will just go to the pet instead. If you need extra cash, pick up stuff and sell it. Fridges, washer machines, coffee pots, soda dispensers. ETC. You can “auto-loot” just by tapping E 3x if you want to make room for a perk.
-SERIES SUGGESTION- different hoard base every week. Just being honest. Watching you build bases it’s actually pretty entertaining and the designs are amazing.
I prefer The Purge since i dont need a horde base. I just cleared a field out next to our crafting base to fight the outbreaks, bandits, boss mobs, and seekers.
So I just made a base with the scaffolding bars as a “floating” base and it is insanely good for throwables and guns! I build some added support around/ some pillars and a roof and it is strong 💪
Kind of worried about a stray molotov lighting the wood support on fire and climbing up to your floor, which is still wood, and burning out the middle of it.
Oh no, im watching the episode as he upgrades his horde base and I cant help but notice that while upgrading a single portion of each pillar to cobble seems like a smart way to spare cobble, it leaves an entirely unbroken line of wood going up to his fighting platform, all around it, and down his other pillars. If that catches he is utterly boned. Oh good, he upgraded the pillars. Heh, nice horde night, went surprisingly smoothly really. MUCH better than the last one.
This is a cool overhaul but the sheer number of zombies is a bit excessive. I am part of the all on one horde base clan but I usually just build my horde base off the side of a POI I have taken over
I have to agree. That, or they are WAY too spungy. Like that hazmat boss took way too much ammo. The extra hp, the defense auras, the healing, and the sheer number and frequency of the hordes/outbreaks makes it so that you seem to spend most of your day just fighting off spawned zombies, let alone clearing POIs, working on your base, or gathering resources. I think its juuuust a little too much, but I like that its more intense than vanilla...which is pretty tame all things considered.
I have found in my experiments that hordes and blood moons are insanely different in Rebirth. The zombies, pardon my inability to word this better, feel much more stupid in how they path. A horde base design I've used since alpha 19, tried and true through the years, just doesn't work. They can't path to me, as they keep falling off before even getting all the way to the top. I don't know if its a good change or not yet.
Man this video is such a godsent , its such a boring day today at work and this video drops , my only sadness is that its only 30min long
on the brightside since its shorter we get some more cinematic editing in return I've noticed
Yes! love getting on youtube and seeing a new GNS video. Love all your series, well done!
If it autoloots to you as opposed to a companion, you run the risk of getting encumbered.

@@GunsNerdsandSteel You're welcome. I'm having a blast myself.
Auto loot is exactly what makes me wanna play this mod
The Mario BGM is just comedy gold
I'm loving this series.
Nice to see you playing Rebirth - totally the best Overhaul mod for 7D2D!!!
Fr agree. It's hard but yet playable. Unlike others I've tried.
Congrats on 250k subscribers! Your uploads make my mornings!
Thanks! Glad you enjoy the content!
9:11 even though tem cam wasn't the true enemy from last series, seeing him die in the world chat felt rewarding
LOL that Mario music! I am enjoying watching others play this mod. I have difficulty enough with vanilla.
Oh my god, I LOST MY S#!T WHEN Tem leveled up " smells like bacon" and RIGHT after it's "beer o' clock" lmmmaaaoooooooo for days!!! So awesome.

Congrats on 250k my friend! Great video and enjoying the series, keep'em coming chief! 👍
7:10 thankfully you got the roof on. a few spiders on first horde were leaping from midway from the walk up area and making iit over onto platform

Really enjoying this series brother. My only complaint, wish the episodes were longer! Hahah. Keep it up
I hear ya, I'll try to squeeze more in!

All the way 🫡
Survival with style eh? High standards. Thanks for the morning content to go with my coffee.
That Mario sound clip was on point.. 🤣🤣🤣
I cant wait to see what this base becomes in the endgame.. CANT WAIT! but I must!
11:56 prolly take a rampage candy before doing these
crown 3 molding under the scaffold plate would allow the turret to punch the zombies from your side of the fighting position
GZ on 250k subs. Now onto the 500k ;)

15:50 I wasn't paying to close attention and I thought you were punishing a wolf for stealing your drinking water 😂😂😂😂
Excellent horde fight, love the Rampage. Bookcase not a forcefield block anymore? Not optimal, that must be very recent.
Yeah it worked in Afterlife, might be a 1.1 change. Or a rebirth change

"Smells like bacon" sounds much more like doing fire damage (or killing with fire) to me than killing animals.

That's a great idea, I might have to try that out!
Zombies in destroy area mode will start punching blocks if they get within 11 blocks of the player before the timer runs out.
What about adding some spike traps or something where the zombies fall off the base? Or they locked behind something
I’m so glad your not micromanaging your pets. It’s annoying to see other videos where they let dog do a few hits then go in for kill.
Is there a schedule cause I got addicted to series and want to see it every day?
Same as usual, Saturday Sunday Wednesday

and now we watch as tem shoots his punch turret to death. *snicker*
You can craft Hi-Power Ammos for tougher zombies... easy and cheap to craft...

Is that Horde Night kill counter a mod?
How about a range weapon (spear/sword/Club) for your assistant? maybe then he can in horde reach the dead

Give your old equipment to Aid, I think companions will equip weapons and armor.
Did the afterlife series end
Another Day first aid kit forgotten in toolbelt
melee expertise fragments would be m.a.g. then you just replace the first letter with what type it is. Like rag for ranged ones.
I'm pretty sure you can dismiss a follower if you want a different one.
when can we get more Icarus ?
Men i wish i could be AidthePaid just to hang around Tem xD
YOU CAN HEAL THE DOGS, put bandage in you hand and click to opposite button that heal you. Stop eating them lol.
Mmmmm. Waffles.
