I went to Eric's concert in Winnipeg, MB last night and - of course - it was wonderful. He and John make you feel like you're at a song swap in a living room. This song is such a perfect expression of both loss and hope. Thank you Eric for this!
I first heard eric's voice back in 1984 on Karison Keillor show. What a powerful message his words brought. The American public was robbed of his voice and talent. Must also add that John Monroe is one great talent inn his own right SANTEESLIMHERE
I've lost several cousins and two aunts, in the last couple of years...and tonight I just found out a friend died. Eric is one of the best songwriters around, he can have you pissing your pants in laughter one moment, and sniffling the next.
I defy anyone who knows the story of Dunblane and then hears this poignant song to not cry. SO many babies and the brave teacher who tried to save some of her kids. Too much damn evil in this world as the sad 6 month anniversary of the carnage in Connecticut shows. Will it ever end? I doubt it. God bless all those little stars in heaven and God bless Eric for being able to sing it so well.l
Oh, my god! Just read up on this :( SO sad!!!! Rest In Peace, kids. And school teacher. Although, i have also dedicated this song to the one's i have lost in my life. It tells the true stages of grief.
@elaineyoung0311 the Dunblane shooting when a gunman entered Dunblane primary school an killed a number of kids and a teacher , Eric was asked to write a song for their families. so sad
@paddyd65 sorry I probably hadn't worded that correctly I had meant to say that the lyrics were even more sad because the song was about the shooting, so I already knew about it but thanks anyway if i hadn't known that would have been a great help :)
Will always love his words
