Hi, I'm trying to upload Ruko as a voice bank for my UTAU program. I went to the second tab and went to get the file, but I'm not sure which one to click on. I watched you, and you only clicked on one of the .wav files. Is there a specific one that you need to click on? I know it's wrong because after I went to the P then R and clicked the new option on the drop-down box, but the file location below it turned red and when I click the info button, everything is unknown and there is no picture.
This isn't really related to the video but.. could you tell me how you would edit the songs( like combining harmony, melody, instrumental etc.) because I have it working fine, I just need to figure that out xD.
@SelenaGomez127 Oh! In your country, do you use periods to write numbers like 1.000.000,00? If it is, your computer will do a lot of wonky stuff with UTAU. Somewhere in control panel, there will be an option to use periods or commas as placeholders, and you need to tell it to use commas as placeholders (like 1,000,000 instead of 1.000.000.) If that doesn't work, did you download Fuuga and UTAU after you changed your locale? Don't worry :) Your English is fine.
Question, dearie: I have the program in mostly english, and my UST is in romaji. How would I make the UST Hiragana? Also, my VB was typed at firt in romaji also, and I've put the 'gana as it's alias in UTAU... so will that affect it at all?
Would you know how to clear your frequencies? Or do I just have to do it all over again.. Because the first time I used my UTAU it was perfectly fine but then I wanted to touch up a couple phonixes. So I did. When I did it sounded funny but I noticed I had frequencies on some of them now :/ I re-recorded the whole bank but didn't make a new folder and it sounded even worse...
Thank u for this tutorial. It really helped, but I have a problem. I downloaded AL!CE.16, but when I select her, it says that she has a bunch of samples that are 0 seconds long and clicking on the samples button doesn't do anything. Should I delete them or is there a way to extend them?
@NakajimaAyuka You have to set your computer to Japanese if you want to use UTAU. Do not download the English patch for UTAU. All that will do is make it harder to follow along with a good tutorial. There is no English version of UTAU, only a patch that translates the menu names and strips of them and in effect makes it harder to follow a tutorial made by someone without the patch. Let me give you a hint: If someone has the English patch, it's usually a bad tutorial.
@annamaeblyth I try making the default voice for UTAU (Uta/Defoko) sing, but there is no volume D: ! I did EVERYTHING you did in this tutorial, but its not working. My volume is up all the way, do you know how to fix it?
I've tried following this tutorial , since i didn't understand a thing from utau , but yeah , actaully i did everything you did in the tutorial , but when the song plays i don't hear it singing D: (sorry for my bad english , i'm dutch hehe )
uuh...I did everything the way you said but for some reason utau only plays the consonant of every vowel...I don't know why, it happens with all voicebanks and I tried redownloading but that didn't fix it either...what am I doing wrong?
Are you using someone else's WAV files or your own? If your WAV files are the wrong bit rate or in stereo, they may not work. In that case, I would suggest recording them again with OREMO as it will make sure the files work perfectly :) If you are using someone else's WAV files that work for them, I'm quite confused!
How I can get the stats like that? Are you make it or download it? Why you not change it to english? It'll be more easy, I guess.. And what's the utau name are you using? I can't make my utau sings too. Can you guess the problem? And thanks for the video :)
I got my UTAUloid to sing, but then once I chose another song for him to sing, it loaded his WAV files and no sound came out. I've changed my locale, and it all worked before. Do you think it has something to do with the English patch I downloaded?
hello! do you have a safe website to get voicebanks / download UTAU in English? I've seen stuff around but I'm a bit nervous about downloading random things
Sorry it took so long for me to notice this! I think that if you download UTAU from the official website, it automatically comes in English, or at least comes with a patch to make it English. Unfortunately, downloading UTAU voicebanks will always feel extremely shady. You just have to have faith that people won't put viruses in their voicebanks.
So I have to set the computer to Japanese... ; A ; is there any way I should do to make it sing? I don't want to set it into a Japanese computer one... = 3= or should I download the English one instead? Can it sing a Japanese song though? :3
I have the most up to date version. (English) It will NOT recognize any .wav files, whether with the Uta default or a voicebank I got. What is going on???
Defoko (Uta default) is encoded in hiragana if I remember correctly. That means to use her, you need to uninstall UTAU, change your locale to Japanese, download UTAU again, and install UTAU again. If you are unwilling to change your locale, I think that romaji voice banks would still work. OR, if you're trying to use Defoko, make sure you're using a hiragana UST and not a romaji UST.
So Utau is working now with region changed but only defoko will work and I can't get this VSQ to work at all. It has to be defoko and NO VSQ in order to make any sound. Otherwise there's nothing. I have an English voicebank, Japanese voicebank, and this VSQ imported but nothing will work. My frustration is through the roof at this point. I just want to make one song. ONE.
VSQs are not made for UTAU. If you import a romaji Japanese VSQ, it will work if your bank is in romaji. Most banks from Japan do not have romaji. However, I remember that if you import a Hiragana Japanese VSQ it will become "mojibake" and will not work. Under no circumstances will an English VSQ work in UTAU without hours of conversion. To make an English VOCALOID sing, you just need to type "Sing". However, to make an English UTAU sing you need to make two separate notes and type out "s ih" and then "ih ng" in the second. (Every Engliish UTAU has different phonetic systems, so you need to study whichever one you're using or download a premade UST for that UTAU's recording style.)
what happens if your voicebank isn't making any noise? do you have to sing the the notes in separate files or would it matter if it was all in just one file?
If it is all in one file, you need aliases in the oto file to make it sing. If you're new and not ready to learn how to add aliases, then having separate files for each note is better :D utau will either play the alias or the file name (minus .wav .) if you have the file "ka.wav", when you type "ka" into a note in utau, utau will look for ka.wav in the folder and use that.
@annamaeblythe Yes, the locale is set in japanese. the UST is in hiragana i think, it looks like yours and no it does'nt have any strange characters *sorry for my bad english I am swedish*
@UtauKiriko Change locale to Japanese. If you record sound with hiragana, you need to use a hiragana UST. If you record sound with romaji, you need to use a romaji UST.

I downloaded Teto's whisper bank, but when I loaded a magnet UST, it wouldn't sing, and I noticed when it was loading with the black screen thingy, it kept saying file error. How do I fix that? Also, I inserted Teto by clicking and dragging her into the program and it downloaded that way.
The folder the files are in have other files in it along side the .wav files, and it just opens them instead. I even tried another bank (Teto this time) and that does the same thing. And I also tried just going into the folders and just keep clicking open, but when I went back out it didn't even recognize the .wav files. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, but I'm doing everything exactly like you did in the video. And even then, the default voice doesn't even play any USTs I open also. :\

+badcookie123456789 Can you tell me more details? Like, are your sound files saved as wav? Are you using a romaji utau? Is the UST in romaji or hiragana? Have you changed your locale?

Mae Blythe oh ok good i changed my locale to japanese when i installed utau but i also put it in english you know you can do that right? or do you speak japanese already?
I made this in 2011. UTAU was released with an English version in around 2013, if I remember correctly. But by then I had been using UTAU in Japanese for around four years, so I was too used to it to switch.
So, OKAY, I can't make it sing. You heard that before. XD BUT, I don't know how to change the locale, and yes, my UTAU has some English letters such as "a", "u", and "e". Tell me what I did wrong, please?
@TheGreatGrayXD My Resampler is different because I prefer it. To use it, just mash the check box that says resampler.dll or something under blanks where you import different resamplers on the screen where you choose the singer.
Can help me please? Um, after I saved my project and try to play it again, the project doesn't make any noise. So, i always have to make another but copy everything, which is a pain. (Sorry for the long comment)
@@emihsjwkld6259 oh no D: maybe make sure your locale is Japanese, uninstall utau, download it again, and then reinstall? I've never had that happen to me before.
@SelenaGomez127 Someone posted a video about it, and you might be able to track it down if you look up "divide by zero UTAU." I've never dealt with it, so I can't really help you with that as much as I wish I could ; ; Sorry.
@annamaeblythe Well, I have the Japanese version (Like you do) and I downloaded the PoPiPo .ust file. I am an EXTREME newb at UTAU, and my little sister really wants to make her own UTAU and so do i :P Many of the Japanese kanji comes up as "???????" or something like that. But the lyrics for the PoPiPo .ust are in kanji, i'll replace them with normal hiragana/romaji
If the UTAU is encoded in Romaji, you need to use the "alias" section of the OTO file to allow it to sing USTs encoded in Hiragana. However, there are a lot of plugins out there that will automatically convert a hiragana UST to a romaji UST.
This helped ALOT!! I have just downloaded UTAU and I was thinking, "Why isn't it singing?" So, I found out and wrote down some notes. Thank you sooo much!! :D

I made this in 2011. UTAU was released with an English version in around 2013, if I remember correctly. But by then I had been using UTAU in Japanese for around four years, so I was too used to it to switch.
some people think they changed their locale when they didin't.
2:29
yay singing mushroom :3
did you unzip it
Where is a good place for me to download a UST. Someone please tell me.
My UTAU is already English and the positions are completely different. Help?
+Squiddles i think this one's the older version of utau^^
Seungri Ryu Ahh thanks.
Does this also work for vcv?
So, OKAY,
I can't make it sing. You heard that before. XD
BUT, I don't know how to change the locale, and yes, my UTAU has some English letters such as "a", "u", and "e". Tell me what I did wrong, please?
@TheGreatGrayXD My Resampler is different because I prefer it. To use it, just mash the check box that says resampler.dll or something under blanks where you import different resamplers on the screen where you choose the singer.
do u download ust?
Can help me please?
Um, after I saved my project and try to play it again, the project doesn't make any noise. So, i always have to make another but copy everything, which is a pain. (Sorry for the long comment)
That is so strange! Is your locale set to Japanese? If you change the singer, does it play again? Have you tried clearing the cache?
Neither way didn't work way :-(
@@emihsjwkld6259 oh no D: maybe make sure your locale is Japanese, uninstall utau, download it again, and then reinstall? I've never had that happen to me before.
@@MaeBlythe Nope, didn't work. It only happens to the projects that I created, not other people's UST
@@emihsjwkld6259 that is so strange!! I honestly have never seen that happen :(
@ThaneKriosLover You use the append button, but I don't suggest doing that.
@tokiozelda its a thing were the notes are in and how high and what she needs to sing
What's a VCV ust?
NO! A kitty's in front of my computer! What do I do?
but hey, why cant i hear my uatu? my volume is up so thats not the problem
@CookieDemonCorp Oh, this, setting your locale to Japanese, and the REAPER tutorial are all you need, then :P
When I first used utau and played to thing I made my ears where blown by loud static xD
@CookieDemonCorp And this isn't how to make use of a VCV bank, which you have.
How do you make a bank ?
@SelenaGomez127 Someone posted a video about it, and you might be able to track it down if you look up "divide by zero UTAU." I've never dealt with it, so I can't really help you with that as much as I wish I could ; ; Sorry.
I downloaded Gahata Meiji and she never sings. i have Lilith
Use hirgana
When I loaded My ust it showed nothing.
oh god, thank you so very very much~! it really helped me a lot ^_^
I have not the slightest idea of what an UST is.
@annamaeblythe Well, I have the Japanese version (Like you do) and I downloaded the PoPiPo .ust file.
I am an EXTREME newb at UTAU, and my little sister really wants to make her own UTAU and so do i :P
Many of the Japanese kanji comes up as "???????" or something like that. But the lyrics for the PoPiPo .ust are in kanji, i'll replace them with normal hiragana/romaji
@hinanime21 You import it the same way. However, you need to use the lyric diphonizer and P2P3. There is a tutorial for that on my channel :)
uhm i dont have a ust but i need something i can use voice banks on
There are many usts available to download :) you can find them by searching RUclips with "utau UST" or searching Google.
@Yoyopines If you want to use crossfade with romaji, you have to enter in "a,i,u,e,o,n" or whatever XD;
thje weird looking thingy it's the box that filled with the words 'ADD' lol
How do I change it to Hiiragana?
If the UTAU is encoded in Romaji, you need to use the "alias" section of the OTO file to allow it to sing USTs encoded in Hiragana. However, there are a lot of plugins out there that will automatically convert a hiragana UST to a romaji UST.
@12slipper It means set it to Japanese.
