nyfarmgirls brought me here. Was looking for a swine channel to follow. You should watch other channels to see how they show farming - less talking heads. Show us what you do. Will prob take a lot of back and forth with the gopro :). Instant subscribe tho.
Hey Sawyer,I know you're doing your job the way that's best, but if you could....show us a little bit of the way y'all move the pigs around, use your go-pro,....I use to go to work with my uncle,he had a pig farm in south Georgia,I love pigs, hogs, they're cool animals.
The overstock does pay pretty good. We use to get $3/pig when we thinned down. But it was still to much work being wean to finish. The vaccinations each of twice was a big deciding factor in switching back to feeder to finish. And the manure is better quality being feeder to finish.
I don't mean to pry, but after all the preparation you did, and after meeting the NY Farmgirls, did I sense somewhat of a love connection here. I feel it could be since you do share the same interests, you both aren't afraid of hard work and long/irregular hours... What do you think?
I don't know what the problem is with some veiwers. You must set up the video so we know what you are doing. You will improve with time like everyone else. Fyi, I grew up on a hog farm in S.E. Massachusetts. We bred and raised to market. Any where from 300 to 1,400 head . Back in the 50's and 60's it was certainly not as sophisticated as today. Bit I will say for the time period my grandfather and my dad did a great job. More later. Please keep sending out videos. Stay safe. 🐷🐷
Most viewers like to have everything explained as they watch. So the big you tubers will either explain it as they work , or they explain it then do it.
excellent vid.... yes i hit the thumbs up.... very informative... you will be one of the great ones on you tube..... alot of different types of farming on you tube.... your niche is commerical swine production.... you have alot of content to cover... there will be great vids... thx for all your hard work so we can see how a swine farm works......
How many workers on your farm total? You have some pretty good content too, definitely a natural as well! Keep at it and you’ll see the RUclips benefits soon enough, I saw your Instagram has a pretty good following already
That's the problem with people today they don't want to put out any extra work I agree with you a little extra work for a few more bucks yes it is worth it.
Hey Sawyer, did you get the number of the New York girl that visited y'all's farm, who knows, maybe y'all could start a farm of y'all's own,of course after marriage...just a little humor, lol
@sawyer thanks for posting the video. If you don’t mind, could you help me with some clarity and I’m sorry if you’ve already mentioned it. Why can’t this be done outside? It seems it would even be more practical, no million dollar building. From a personal standpoint as a consumer it’s easier on the mind if the pigs were outside, even in the same square footage pens. With “cage free chickens” “pasture raised cows” being house hold expressions.... I hate to be redundant..... but..... if not now do you see outside farming being a thing in the future? Please and thank you.
Question so many people did contracts with tyson on chickens made money for a few years built barns did what they said to keep there supply up then they cut the cost to nothing and now they own the farms. How are you guys set up up. If it's with one supplier be careful just saying. And yes I am a producer but I don't set contracts with any one company. Great videos
Really don't understand what you're doing talking about everything you did you're talking about pigs but yet you're showing yourself sweeping and cleaning the floor I think your video your channel would do better if you show yourself moving pigs around and actually what you do with the pigs instead of talking about what you did.
This'll Do Farm I really enjoy your videos! My dad had a farrow to finish operation, he got rid of his last hogs in 2003 after the hog market fell out. I wasn’t born then. I really wish I could have been alive then but now we just do grain and beef. But when I found your channel I was really excited! There aren’t to many hog RUclipsrs. So I really like your content! It’s really cool to see! -Grant.

Awesome video. I saw nyfarmgirls vid of their visit to your farm. Looked fun.

Pig farming is a lot different in Ontario Canada, all concrete poly and stainless steel, most finnishing barns have auto sorters
Auto sorters are great if the electronic hold up. That was our biggest problem.
Ya show more of how u do daily tasks. Woulda been great u explaining how your farm works .
Gary Dutra there is a video on that. Day in the life of a young pig farmer. But I’ll try to incorporate more daily tasks.
Most viewers like to have everything explained as they watch. So the big you tubers will either explain it as they work , or they explain it then do it.
Awesome show
Nice content and video! By the way, when you mixed the pigs, don't they start fighting a lot?
