Piggery is so good for business. As long as you can feed them. Two years you can be very big. We started a farm with only 250 females and one year later, we have a farm of over 3,300pigs

I think it's bit tricky both of them
1)goats need more space than pig
2)pig needs feeds and goats needs pastures only and if u want to grow your own you would find out that where you grow your food you can use that space for other cash crops
3)goats must be more to multiply where's by pigs you only need few
    4) pigs are expensive more than goats when you are selling them but because of the feeds that pigs can consume I don't know which one will have more profit

in philippines, there are feed companies that would supply you until you sell them. pigs reproduce faster and can be sold to meat market at 4 months old. when it comes to profit, pigs win. But that is if there is no pig epidemic ( african swine flu and foot and mouth disease comes every few years or so) that could put you back to start line.
with goats they reproduce slower, you need a big area as source of food but more and more farmers are switching to goats or at least adding goats because there is no goat epidemic that could destroy your business instantly. price is stable.
summary: it depends on your risk appetite.
    pigs: better profit but risky
    goats: slow but steady

Do you know that in the international commodity market, 1kg of goat horns is sold for 23 dollars while 1kg of goat intestine is sold for 25 dollars?
Goat intestines are used to make suturing thread that the doctors use for operations in the hospitals.

    • @ValueFarmUG

Goat manure is first set a side to dry and later taken to the garden. For pig manure gets decomposed in the wood shavings because we're using IMO system that dries it up and later taken to the garden.

    Great video. Yes sheep.
We tried pigs and then they escaped from the pig pen. They did a nasty job on our garden and lawn over night. You are spot on with the cost of feed for hogs. It is a true expense. Goats seem to challenge our fences. Never good to get a call from the neighbors while I am at work telling me our goats are out again. Then I thought my wife is from Barbados, so my in laws would love to a few Barbados Black sheep when they come over ? Oh yeah , big points on that idea. I purchased a few of those. Everybody was happy. Great holiday seen a lot of my wife's family for that goat roast. Your so right buy the best animal you can . Could not agree more. I buy the very very best male I can find. We have cross breed several hair sheep breeds. We truly enjoyed the results of sheep. They grow fast and are hardy . In North America so many different cultures love sheep meat I have people waiting for us to sell. We raise a pig or two for the holidays, but we have entered into a more serious financial approach. We only farm our small 3 acre homestead. We have crossed into Dorper , Australian white and Barbados sheep. Recently we have worked a deal out with another farming using his 62 acre pasture. Such a great hobby and love to see my family enjoying that good food. May God bless everyone of you.

Please what is the thickness of the wood shavings you spread on the ground? My wood shavings get wet daily because of the quantity of urine. Please what should I do?

    • @ValueFarmUG
      @ValueFarmUG  2 года назад +2

      Sorry about that.
The wood shavings should be atleast from 1foot to 2 feet deep. And you keep adding a small layer daily then spray IMO. We shall be doing a detailed cleaning video for the pig house very soon. Thanks.

@@ValueFarmUG Thank you. I got the inspiration from you. I started with 2 sows. I have 24 pigs now (4 pregnant sows, 6 weaners, 14 Growers). I keep adding. I dream to own a 1,000 Pigs Farm.
