    Dismiss does a great job on Doveweed as well. If I get a chance to take a pic of one of my customers' lawns, I'll shoot it your way. It's been almost 30 days and it's barely holding on. Fast acting and safe on cool seasons too (as is blindside). Great videos, man. Love it.

    That Celsius is truly the best! I said it in a previous comment on your 1st video about Celsius vs Blindside, that dollar for dollar, Celsius is the best! To take it to the next level, use some Dismiss with Celsius NEXT year. You can thank me then. I also suggest mowing St Augustine at a Fescue height, 3.5 inches or higher. This will shade out the wild bermuda.
    Looking better, bro! Good job!!!

    The Celsius works great up in the Northeast New England. Just can't use on Kentucky Blue grass. I will tell you 1/4 Teaspoon per gallon with soap works great on new grass. You won't have much if any issues next season.

    I must have some disease in my lawn all of a sudden? I put down Milo about 18 days ago and there are tons of dead spots all over the lawn. Irrigation has been consistent since (infrequent & deep). Aeration soon but man does my lawn look awful in some spots. I'll report back in the spring but my 1st impression of Milo is skeptical. Ringer I did on July 4th application btw.

    doveweed germinates at 65-70°F. So your February or March Pre-M is too weak by the time it starts. 4-6 weeks app after the first spring PreM is very important. Could take 3 years to eradicate the problem. I do not like to spray it when it shows up because it yellows and gives the yard a chlorotic look. The spots will yellow out on their own when it starts to get cooler. I cover dove weed patches with 4inches of cow/compost and let the st.aug quickly fill it in.

    Can you use a Reel Mower on the St. Augustine and cut short to promote lateral growth the same way you can with Bermuda?I've come into a great deal on a Tru-Cut 20" Reel Mower but I'm not sure how short I can safely go.

    Has anyone dealt with 'carpet weed'? The people across the street have it all over their yard and now it is creeping into my yard and taking over. One side of my yard along the driveway within a week it took over and I had to pull it all out and reseed. I have been trying conventional methods of spraying them and some of them started turning yellow, but most not.

    Grazon herbicide from your farm supply if you have a restricted chemical license. Plant no gardens for 10 years in heavy clay soil, 5 years in sandy. Long lasting residual control. Throw away half the chemicals you use over and over, and you never really kill the weeds for good, for years.

    • @3pumpkins170
      @3pumpkins170 5 лет назад +1

      The best way to find out is to call your local sod supplier and ask them. I'm in northeast FL and they told me the Floratam variety is for full sun only, while the Classic Turf variety is for full sun & partial shade. That's the only 2 varieties they carry, anyway. I heard there's also a variety called Captiva that's resistant to cinch bug. Hope it helps!

    • @1johnfife1
      @1johnfife1 5 лет назад +1

      I wouldn't plug as u will be spending the money you saved on sod for chemicals like in this video. I did mine in feb 19 and probably have 500 bucks in chemicals already, buy the sod and be done with it. To answer your question though palmetto or "scotts pro vista" would be a good option for you. I did palmetto (like you i have partial sun and it only requires 4 hours per day) but the pro vista is soposed to be tolerant of round up, there for u can just kill the weeds with it once they come in avoiding any costly chems. (South FL)

    I'm up in the panhandle, and we used to never have Doveweed here, but in the last couple of years it has exploded in my yard for some reason. The wetter the area, the more it thrives. It will completely choke out both centipede and St Augustine, heck I think it could even outcompete bahia grass. I used atrazine last year which seemed to knock it back, but it's back this year with a vengeance.

    Hey Allyn, thanks for all the helpful videos! I recently moved to NH and restoring the front lawn. Yesterday, I aerated the lawn, placed Starter Soil, Malorganite, and Pennington seeds. I noticed we have some weeds around the lawn and was wondering if it's okay to throw Tenacity and Surfactant on it sometimes this week. Was thinking about doing the entire 1.5 acres instead of spot treating. Do you think it's best to do it that way or to spot treat? Hoping to have decent grass grow out by Halloween to dominate. Picture of current lawn taken today. Watering it like crazy!

    Forget all of the sod comments, but have you considered just killing again and just seeding? The time, effort, and chemicals on these plugs you probably would be in a better place.
    Even as an experiment doing a small place to test.

      the lawn will come though, not prob, I'm not worried. But with St Aug, it is not available in seed. Only plugs or sod.
