- Part one of my trip to Amsterdam, NY with skyman2002 and MBTA000. We had a great time. Lots of K5H, K5HL, K5LA, and K5LLA action. Many meets too. Even some foreign power and a road slug. Trains in this video:

What a great video. I live in England and the american loco's. When I come over I always find an excuse to watch them.
I love this spot the trains are endless and really rip through that little station.

wow csx runs alot of trains great video! how many trains go through A DAY?? I LIVE IN iowa but i see alot of action on bnsf but i didnt know csx run this many trains! any ways you should go west and railfan bnsf great action and usually tons of trains!! great video!

Thanks, the ethanol was K636. The K prefix is for all unit trains (except coal and grain), and usually K6** trains are paper or woodchips and K4** trains are ethanol.

Could have been. P&W has been handling a lot of ethanol lately. They also interchanged with NECR's ethanol train that I caught in Amherst the other night.

LIKED the video ... Fast trains ... Nice Horns ... Would've liked to have seen MORE of the consists, at those speeds they'd be by you REAL fast, also missed out on a great opportunity to finish up with the Amtrak load and unload and depart ... No criticism just saying ....
5:54 - head end had Produce Express cars from Ontario Oregon. Must be late runners that missed Q090.

Not sure which specific one that was, but go into any place that sells radios (except Radioshack) and get either a 2m or 2m/70cm magnetic roof mount antenna. That's what I have and it works wonders.

Was this a depot in the long ago for passenger trains? I see benches around and it is paved, so it looks like some small depot.

That's the old NYC waterlevel route isn't it? Always was a fast track.

Stop editing the cars doing their run-by!!! You spend more time on the ass end of the train going away with some guys in the way then the actual train itself! Stop it! Some of us want to see all the consist as the freight revenue is what these trains are about, not the lead power or the EOT flashing box!
You have a good place to shoot with plenty of traffic throw us a bone and show us all those cars we are missing! Cheers!
