dude you should do a video putting some mouse traps with peanut butter on them and see if can't get them gone. I have a 1995 3000gt sl I eventually wanna do the vr4 swap with. I have a daughter and not having the money to throw away as aften these videos make me so happy. if I had more money I'd be out making some videos. just got a decent tool set for Christmas thank god... keep the videos up your inspiring and I love this project. and I forgot to welcome you to the Mitsubishi crew, when you bought the car from the other guy.
Jon Lemon I was thinking about doing that and that would be a cool swap but Idk if that would be worth it because I am sure it isn't cheap when you could probably find a VR4 for around the same price of a swap. I don't have a lot of money too thats why I am taking my time with this build. I appreciate you watching and enjoying this series of videos! I think im going to post on 3si.org about this project!
Jon Lemon I would see VR4s on craigslist for more then $5k and they weren't in too bad of condition but I could not simply afford that and even at that price, a used car still needs work put into it along with money.
Great job! I always wait for new video with this project car. :) When you finish with the engine, you should dismantle the interior, seats, carpets, and especially the ventilation ducts to make it clean, and sterile and give it some good disinfection because of those mouse craps.
Phant0mPL Thanks! I like doing videos on this car when I get the chance and that is my plan because I still think rodents have followed me with the car ever since I bought it haha
Great vid thanks for the upload. While removing the intake, On the large end - there is a gasket that i damaged and needs replacement. You wouldn't be able to source me one or get me a part number per chance. I can't seem to find it?
Ok ,So what does this part affects when it goes bad? I'm having an issue with no spark at all replaced the PTU coil packs & checked the fuses non of that worked:
I'm so happy this car found someone who knows what they are doing. Tav is a smart guy but he lacks the right motivation to really build the car... I suppose he did help save it by getting it to you. I don't think they are money pits, especially if you are working on it yourself. Just a pain to get to some places, and hard to get some parts for. You're lucky you don't have to do a total rebuild with just low compression. It can be a pain to find the bearings you will need ( I think I found mine on mitsubishipartswarehouse.com and they sourced them from a few different places). It will be fun pulling the engine and lapping the valves and cleaning it all up. I'm about a year into a rolling chassis rebuild of a 1992 green vr4. Body is in great shape, no mice, torn interior like yours.
mephisto212 Glad you think that, it means a lot! He had bigger and better projects by the looks of his recent videos. I haven't spent much haha Capacitors, fuel filter and now this Idle Air Control valve. Check out my new video!
Stalling out at junctions (my auto box makes this harder to manage) and also if you have the a/c on and turn the wheel at idle. The IAC/stepper is supposed to compensate.
I JUST STARTED THE VID WHERE YOUR REMOVING THE IAC. DID U CONNECT A SCAN TOOL & RUN ALL THE CODES? ALSO, DID YOU TRY CLEANING THE ORIGINAL IAC B4 REPLACING IT? USUALLY YOU CAN CLEAN EM W/BRAKE CLEAN & CLEAN OUT INSIDE THE WHOLE THE IAC FITS INTO! SAME WITH THE INTAKE TUBING! THO, I WOULD REPLACE THAT RUBBER SEAL!
Why he barely knows what he's doing . BTW hooking up the batt with the key on is a big cause of idle motor needing replacement, there is a reset feature Also cleaning the throttle plate with a tooth brush and rag the 1st step ,even closed it passes a certain amount of CFM
Damn man. Car is nothing but a money pit from hell. Remember rats where in there. That big intake tube that was under where you where working I bet that is full of rat shit. Just pull the motor on a sorta warm day and bring it in the house to work on it. Fill the tub with solvent and clean it up. Then take it to a shop to rebuild. :P Nice video.
yeah I know! I have a 93 stealth and 94 3kgt vr4 in my driveway, my son and I are getting the vr4 back together for him when he turns 16. keep up the good work!

Jursaw see that's the issue I live in Montana and these jackasses keep trying to sell these vr4 in pathetic condition for like 3-4k
Jon Lemon I would see VR4s on craigslist for more then $5k and they weren't in too bad of condition but I could not simply afford that and even at that price, a used car still needs work put into it along with money.
Exactly I agree I want to find a decent 1995 3000gt vr4 so bad keep your eyes open for me
Jon Lemon Buy mine haha just kidding but seriously this car get me aggravated sometimes but I hope you can find one!

Mike Gerrie no problem and the rubber ring that goes inside the intake tube?

Do a EGR delete video. I just bought a 1993 dodge stealth r/t twin turbo.
What are the symptoms of a bad iac on these?
Stalling out at junctions (my auto box makes this harder to manage) and also if you have the a/c on and turn the wheel at idle. The IAC/stepper is supposed to compensate.
Should delete the nest of vacuum lines while your in there. Keep it up, get
This turd going! 👌😊
