It was not a fern but yes very nice plant😁🍀
I love your videos man, I just started polishing amber myself. Trying to build up a collection of insect inclusions for a display case. I have delved into your video archive too much yet but was wondering if you had any tips on how to get pieces so clear? I am really reluctant to heat them up, the only method I was considering is using a slow cooker with oil on low for several days.
No no dont do that, heating amber will fuck up inclusions they will become dark and loose details, amber will loose natural color too - you cant find such methods in my video archive because i dont do stuff like that, i can and polish pieces with sand paper up to 3000grit and then polish it up with polishing paste - theres no other secrets
@@Amberscape Ah okay, thank you for the advice. I’m glad that I hadn’t done it yet then. Do you have any advice as to where to get raw amber reliably? It appears you hunt for it yourself so I’m not sure if you have to source from anywhere else. I got some amber from Indonesia and it’s pretty dark and a lot of pieces have a bunch of bark. Could just have gotten a less ideal batch though.
@Beletorix if you dont need "much" i can sell u some raw pieces, can throw one with inclusin for cutting if you want;) (price will depends on pieces fraction and inclusion rarity if u want inclusion)
@@Amberscape that would be awesome! It’ll be neat to see the difference in person between raw Indonesian and Baltic amber. I have a very small arachnid in one of mine so far that I have yet to polish, wanted to practice before I tackle it because it’s pretty close to the surface but it’s already a decently clear piece so I think I can use mostly fine sandpaper to minimize loss of material. Yeah, I’m not sure how to DM on RUclips but feel free to shoot me a message and we can connect. It’s super cool of you to offer that, thanks a bunch.
@Beletorix be carefull with the spider! Take your time😁, regarding contact theres links to my social media in description of every video:)
MY-CRO-SCOPE! Hahahaha
How did you get hold of that cretecous amber. Did you buy it online?
Well it didnt appear out of nowhere😁, i did buy it:)
@@Amberscape that is clear, where from ? I would love to buy some myself. There are offers on e-bay, however, one can never know whether those are just fakes.
@@Amberscape where did you buy them.
Oh Wow .. good job. Those specimens are fascinating. I wonder if their DNA is preserved inside.
BTW is there an online catalogue of citizen scientists who maintain or log their findings? A proper database with all the details. That would be nice.
Could someone point me something like that. Thanks a lot and cheers for such a great video.
Im not aware regarding the database:)), and about dna - scientists tried that and failed to extract any bit of dna
Do you sell the amper
Very beautiful Jarek, like always when you make these photos!
