In Jamaica some people boil it but gives it a mouth feel I don’t like, my Jamaican family soaks it too...but with ginger, allspice and sweeten with sugar and a splash of rum no wine. I like that you made yours strong I hate when people use too much water and lose the beautiful flavor of the sorrel/hibiscus flower. This looks so refreshing.

Hi Carolyn thank you as always for another great recipe, the weather In Philadelphia is great for this drink right now...the hibiscus was pretty inexpensive from where you purchased, was it a specialty store? I'm looked on Amazon more expensive, just trying to get an idea. Thanks

Sandy Byrd, try a Mexican market, it is sold loose or bagged. It is also half the price you'd pay elsewhere.

    • @CookingWithCarolyn

But remember nothing is loose any more, only bagged.

@@CookingWithCarolyn Hi Carolyn! I live in California and they're still selling it loose in a number of the Mexican stores here but I get it bagged. Didn't know how it sold in other places.

Loved this one Mrs. Carolyn now I’ve been a fan of yours since the mid 20’s and fell head over heels with the Grand Diamond seasoning. I went to place an order and it’s sold out. (In tears right now) I’m Jones’s. Your magic has been in my household for sometime now. We gonna need them to step up the manufacturing process. Please and Thank You In Advance

Keyla Yes. Stir it in while the tea is still warm so it’ll dissolve. Then chill
