Hibiscus tea has been known to prevent hypertension, lower blood pressure, reduce blood sugar levels, keep your liver healthy, help with menstrual cramps, help with depression, aid digestion and help with weight management. Its rich in Vitamin C, contains minerals such as flavonoids. (As per Google)
Carolyn you are missed girl! I have so many of your recipes saved going back 12 years, I'm back again because I use your sweet potato pie recipe every year and never write it down. Praying your strength in the Lord, happy holidays to you and your family.
Is she OK I'm seeing this was her last video around this time covid was around..praying she's OK her recipes look really good. I was going to ask when is she coming back
I was wondering and thinking of her too today which is why I came to her channel wondering if she had posted anything lately. I hadn’t heard from her in several years. I pray all is well with her 🙏🏾
Hello, Ms. Carolyn. I discovered my love of cooking from watching your videos. I ate out six days a week and my health was suffering for it. I found your channel and it changed my life. I’m a healthier person and more physically fit than I’ve been in years. Thank you for what you do. Keep the recipes coming!
I haven’t even started the video yet, but I’m really excited because we have this in West Africa and we call it “bissap”. I wonder if the process is similar. We also add a bit of mint, pineapple juice and fresh ginger juice
@@milli4166 i’d say tart! not sour :) but of course, whatever sweetener you choose to use will cut that down as well as the water to hibiscus leaves ratio
Thanks ❤ I love this tea and I have some hibiscus tea cold in a pitcher in the refrigerator. It is refreshung! But I enjoy it hot just b4 I go to bed. Thanks, Carolyn 🌷⚘
In Jamaica some people boil it but gives it a mouth feel I don’t like, my Jamaican family soaks it too...but with ginger, allspice and sweeten with sugar and a splash of rum no wine. I like that you made yours strong I hate when people use too much water and lose the beautiful flavor of the sorrel/hibiscus flower. This looks so refreshing.
In the Caribbean we call it sorell and we mostly harvested at Christmas time....we boil ginger, cinnamon and bayleaf in water ..when boiled then add the sorell and cover it..we usually let it sit overnight so everything comes out.....good stuff.... there are 3 colours... Light red White Dark dark red
Hi Carolyn, Thanks for sharing and great watching you. I was just thinking last night about boosting my daily vitamin C and here you go.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗. This tea is high in vitamin C. Thanks again and looking to see/view you soon. Be blessed.
I live in Oakland love Mexican Food but I tried this drink last summer for the 1st time and now I’m head over heals I’m love with it. But your right the sweetness does depends on who makes it 😁 my mama got that same pitcher at home
I'm glad you posted this! It is also good for high blood pressure. I get mine at the Mexican markets where it is cheaper. I was told to go there when my health food store ran out... it was half the price!
Luv it started drinking it because my doctor wanting to put me on high blood pressure medicstion I refused and started drinking hibiscus. I drink it daily, no more high blood pressure
I’m going to try this as soon as I can get some Hibiscus, if it’s real good I may try serving it at my food stand, I’m always looking for new things to try and stand apart from other similar businesses.
I absolutely love Hibiscus tea... It's part of my daily diet - breakfast to be precise. I don't add any form of sweetness. I personally hate adding sugar. I prefer natural sugar and if my ingredients do not have sugar in it I have it just like that 😛 I never thought of making Hibiscus iced tea. The thought just never occurred. Thank you for sharing the video. I will definitely try it 😍
I love hibiscus tea. I went to an all white party and it was thrown by a jamaican couple. They served hibiscus tea and it was BOMB. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
I looovve hibiscus tea, hot and cold. In the summer I make a alcohol free sangria type of drink using hisbicus tea as the base, and I add in whatever thinly sliced fruits I have and let it sit in the fridge overnight. My favorites are green apple and strawberry. Thanks for sharing!
