Very nice piece at the end Justin , and very good detail of the CK88, which I really rate as a Stage Piano

You are correct in your assessment that Roland has made an interesting choice with the EX upgrade. The truth is the sound module portion on Digital keyboards has become dated technology. The question is not whether upgrades are going to be software only…I have bought my last hardware keyboard. I have amazing software synths and pianos…some even run on my IPhone and connect to midi controller vis usb c. I am trying to decide which high end midi controller to get with realistic Hammer action. I think Roland annoyed people that have yet to take advantage or adopt to the new order. I still have to fight the urge to go buy the latest keyboards….but Roland has proved to me that I can just update my software. Nice set up…that ck 88 makes a nice controller. Also those analog clones on your desk are still viable but not for long. I may get a boog myself. Have fun you seem to be a skilled keyboard player.

I own the CK61 (which I absolutely love) but I didn’t know about the setting that has the faders and knobs pass through the value instead of jumping. Thanks a lot for pointing that out.

28:00 EXACTLY what I needed to know. I change midi channels on the fly for a lot of songs my band covers. I'm still playing a CP33 and controlling a Fantom XR with it, so I go into the CP33's Zone 2 tx channel setting before each of those songs and I'm good to go. I tried this with my friend's RD88 and it wouldn't start TXing on the channel I changed it to. I don't know if it wanted me to hit enter or save the change or whatever. Never could figure it out. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but that Roland is off my list now. I need to be able to switch from channel 2 to channel 3 with one button press like you were doing at 32:02.

One thing I didn't mention in the video, that I found out afterwards, is that each live set preset can have different master keyboard settings.

@@justinhavu Cool. and I guess you get 160 of those setups too. With the CP33, I've been limited to just 14 and I'm stuck with them---can't even back them up to a thumb drive and load them before a live set. LOL Back in '06 when I bought it, I was just happy to be TXing on two channels simultaneously. There weren't a lot of keyboards that could do that within my budget constraints. Now I need more zones and a lot more user presets. Probably going with the CX88 soon...

@@stephenbertino8373 Correct. 20 banks of 8, with 4 zones of MIDI control, stored per preset.

I’ve watched some videos said the sound of this kb is not so good, what do you think ?
I really like this kb cause it has more controllable knobs, sliders for switching tones and adjust effects in real-time than another one in this price range.

@@raytsao In my opinion, Yamaha has some of the best acoustic piano sounds on the market today. I really like the CFX samples they've been using for the last decade. Very expressive and playable.
That said, the sound of any instrument is purely subjective. Some people like the Yamaha sounds, some don't. To me, Yamaha makes some of the best sounding instruments in this day and age. They have been for many years.
