PC engine CD would be pretty cool to see you cover. I'm always on the look out for some really cool games. it's actually thanks to you that I have a new found appreciation for Saturn games and am praying for more saturn stuff to come back. I ended up buying physicals of saturn games to play them on my pc and also to even just listen to them as soundtracks.

Absolutely love your channel. I personally think this is a GREAT format to provide material between the "flagship" retrospective videos. The Genesis has tons of titles (not even counting the MD ones) that I've simply never seen anyone analyze meaningfully but quickly! (because there's simply not enough time to watch a "let's play" or "play-through" about every title you're curious about). At a burn rate of 10 games at a time, you'd have years worth of great video material. Even just getting deeper-than-usual takes regarding the actual gameplay experience of some of the "established" Genesis titles (and franchises) would make for really fun episodes IMO. SNES and PS1 provide similarly deep wells to draw from.
Loved this video and what you said is so true - I've collected PCE stuff for years and yet still a couple of games in there that I hadn't heard of?? Didn't think this was possible - especially shooters on the platform. Always something to discover with this hobby!
I've been playing a bunch of emulated games on my retro handheld (there's no way I could afford to amass all these rare games in physical form), and the PC Engine is the console that has grown on me the most by far. There's just something charming about the unique graphical style and sound designs of PC Engine games. I will definitely collect PC Engine games one day when I have actual income.
I purchased a Core II about a week ago so this video is very timely. I've always desired a PC Engine but was just too busy with the Megadrive and SNES at the time.
@@SegaLordX Definitely, looking forward to playing them. I'm going to get a Super SD System 3 from Terraonion very soon as the price of games is ridiculous.
Fantastic video, dude! I love my PC Engine and there are some nice titles I added to my wish list thanks to you! RUclips randomly recommended your channel to me and I'm very happy about it! I checked a few videos and I really like your style!! Keep it up man! I'll be watching!
Great video, I was lucky to have a friend with a TurboGrafx when it was new, it was so cool and different. Never seen any of these imports, though! PC Engine stuff is interesting and has a distinctively different flavor to it. Would love to see some Super Famicom and PCE CD videos, those are both amazing libraries
I would love more episodes like this. I really like discovering games I've never played. I bought a PC Engine and FM Towns II for those purposes specifically and I have nothing but crazy fun when playing those systems. I am really into examining and playing games that I may not have grown up with and are not part of my childhood. To me it's just like buying recent games.
I thought I subbed to you a long time ago, cause youtube always puts your videos in my feed. Well, I'm now 'officially' subbed. You have amassed quite a catalog of great Sega content.
This was a good set of short review. It fels extra engaging since you hadn’t played these games before. I have avoided Sqweek thinking it was too shallow, but you got me interested in it again!
What do you think about the turbografx 16 mini coming out in march? I'm really interested in it and with m2 handling the emulation, i think its gonna be pretty good if not great.
I'm definitely getting one because the turbografx or pc engine never came out in my country, so it's completely foreign to me (or was, anyway, I've emulated a ton of games for it now, but yeah). It's just such a cool little console. I was blown away by some of the games, like I'd heard the raving over Rondo of Blood for years so I thought it'd probably be a bit overrated, but it actually lived up to its reputation. And the Bonk games on it are better than the SNES ones, things like that. I was even surprised how much I enjoyed the pinball games like Alien Crush, I never saw the point of video pinball games before
I played Toilet Kids on my retro handheld emulator and God, it is absolutely bizarre. I didn't really like it. It's so gross that it isn't even cute. And it's not a very good shoot 'em up. Coryoon actually is good though, even though it's hard as hell.
The PC Engine version of Ninja Gaiden is gem, for sure. It's my favorite over Nintendo's, Sega Master System's, and most definitely over Atari's. The colors are nice, and the slightly different sound track always get stuck in my head.
I was really happy to have it in the PC-Engine mini. I’m glad I collect Japanese minis because the Japanese Famicom version of Ninja Gaiden actually has more reasonable difficulty.
Atari Lynx... I never had that system and would love to see your no bs approach reviewing the system and some games for it. Love your videos and always put em on at the end of a long day to unwind and see some classic games on systems I grew up with.
I have a decent chunk of the Turbo and PCE libraries. If you want a handful of others that may be fun to try, here goes: Kickball- it's literally kickball, but with characters from the Schbibinman games, seals, muscle men, etc. for teams. Download- awesome horizontal shooter with funny game over screens. Momotaro Kagetsuki- peach boy platformer from Hudson with a Wonder Boy feel. Bikkuriman World- a licensed remake of Wonder Boy in Monster Land Somer Assault/Mesopotamia-neat puzzle platformer about a battle slinky fighting the zodiac creatures. If you enjoy those, there's a lot more fun to be had.
Some interesting recommendations there, thanks! My favourite „hidden gem“ on the PC-Engine is Son Son II, basically a reskin of the arcade game Black Tiger.

all the best PC engine and Turbographix games tend to be sooo expensive now that it's cheaper to get a retropie and load up a PC engine emulator on it and load onto it the roms of the Turbografx/PC-Engine games you want to play...
I love your vids, but the thing I like this more is that you disclose how much the going rate is for a title on the retro market. I picked up Pacman World in a carboot sale here in the UK for £1, buried in a box, proper mint condition too... Its going for £20-£25 on eBay. Few more boot sales later... Well, a lot more bootsales later... Castlevania Chronicles cropped up... Tenner... I looked on eBay... Well over £100 last I checked! I've never had any others, but bought some great "If less worth valuable" titles on the way, but, you never know! ;) Hence why I like the inclusion of the going rate... You just never know when you might stumble on a bit of a rarity! :)
Love the PC engine. I have a s-video modded Duo R with a 6 button controller. I use a everdrive for all the Hucard games but I have a pretty decent sized disc collection. I also buy games from pceworks as they are pretty much 1to1 clones of the real games but at much cheaper prices. Ok now I'm going to fire it up and play some :) yes do more pc engine related videos !!
Hey SegaLord, I had a Japanese import megadrive when I was growing up in the UK, and I had some incredible games for it. I'd love to hear your opinions on these sorely overlooked titles.
I BECAME... notified that there was something called a PC Egine for the first time at some early season of your show, but I have still never seen a machine, or played ANY games on that platform, I am still not even sure if I know what a PC Engine is or from where it comes
It's a Japanese machine that came out before the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. It was released in other parts of the world as the Turbografx 16. It has tons of games for it that are quite good.
Turbo GFX, yea, I have seen it via your show, but during that time what we had at home was "Nintendo" (8-bit) "Sega" (16 bit) and Atari(2600) I do not know if Turbo GFX was released in the Nordic countries to begin with, anyway.

I've never had any others, but bought some great "If less worth valuable" titles on the way, but, you never know! ;)
Hence why I like the inclusion of the going rate... You just never know when you might stumble on a bit of a rarity! :)
10:44 I knew this game would be on there!
How much were PC games back then?
Love the PC engine. I have a s-video modded Duo R with a 6 button controller. I use a everdrive for all the Hucard games but I have a pretty decent sized disc collection. I also buy games from pceworks as they are pretty much 1to1 clones of the real games but at much cheaper prices. Ok now I'm going to fire it up and play some :) yes do more pc engine related videos !!
Would love a orignal xbox hidden gems. I'm sure there a million of those on there
I enjoyed it. Take another console journey!
Hey SegaLord, I had a Japanese import megadrive when I was growing up in the UK, and I had some incredible games for it. Have you ever considered taking a look at quality titles like Atomic Robokid, Wani Wani World, King Colossus, Pulseman and Crack Down?
How about ‘10 more games for the PC Engine I’ve never played’ or for the CD-ROM system?
Check out Kraze Ninja Action,or something to the degree,it's one awesome pc engine game or PC engine CD game, which one I forget...
Great Video sir!
Only bought a pc engine about three or four years ago. I like it. Bought a PAL Turbografx too last year. Had to import games from the States. Fun system though. Very weird that it has only one port though.
