      @striderhanzo That's funny!
      To be fair, I think Antonio Pierce was a long shot for head coaching success anyway, somehow landing as interim HC after Josh McDaniels got fired.

      @@TheLumpyOne It's rough string of events man. How is that a few of 700,000 emails started this? And possibly could have beaten the Bengals. But eh the show goes on.

    • @TheLumpyOne
      @TheLumpyOne 15 дней назад +1

      @striderhanzo Well said, totally agree. It was shameful to see how Derek Carr was treated. He wasn't elite, but he was better than anyone they've had since. Carr was 100% bought in, and had the respect of the locker room. Raiders haven't even fielded a legitimate starter since then. Garrapolo was probably the closest, but was washed by the time he joined the Raiders.

    • @striderhanzo
      @striderhanzo 15 дней назад

      @@TheLumpyOne Yeah. Jimmy G was a sign of doom for most of us raiders fans. Management allowed a loyal raider in Carr walk for nothing. And they have had 5 QBs since Carr. And they all have been awful. I get loyalty in the work place is fairly meaningless when you don't produce results but something has to stay consistent to build. I hate the patriot way but once Tom and Bill were on the same page. 6 championships in 20 years. Came with controversy but still counted in the record books. It is what it is now. AOC has no one to learn under. He is learning right along with the experienced guys. Everyone is new to the situation. No one takes the raiders seriously so no rookie luck is to be had. I might as well be hopeless and say. Drop minshew, drop ridder, get Carr back, and devonte and run it back for 2025. There is no savior for this team any otherwise. The draft even if they landed sanders and hunter. Ain't make anything but more media circus of the stars in the desert.

    The Raiders’ head coaching position was open last season, but it’s worth noting that Maxx Crosby is a big supporter of Antonio Pierce, and the team has rallied around him as the interim head coach. Because of this, Mike Vrabel likely wouldn’t be a viable candidate for their head coaching role. The only reason Vrabel is even being considered now is due to his connection with Tom Brady, who became a minority owner of the Raiders after officially stepping away from the Buccaneers.
    As for the Patriots, they couldn’t interview Mike Vrabel because they were contractually obligated to promote Jerod Mayo as the next head coach once Bill Belichick was dismissed. There were several contractual factors the organization had to address before even considering a request to interview Vrabel.

    How is that nuts? In 1998 Al Davis chose Jon Gruden over Bill Belichick because he didn't want a disciplinarian. Belichick interviewed for the job. Those were the 2 finalists. Now McDaniels is off of the Belichick tree and players did not take well to it. While Al Davis is no longer around and picking the staff for his head coaches, it didn't work out for Shanahan either. Granted players learned fast that Shanahan wasn't boss. That element still exists as the players threatened to demand a trade if Pierce wasn't hired and they lobbied for Bugel and threw him right under the bus. The meddling still exists just not as pronounced. Belichick had a strong hand in roster decisions, they retained Telesco. I'm not seeing it. I see total rebuild tanking for Allar.

    Yes, TB12 can lure Belichick to the Raiders. I've been saying this for a while. Let's dispense with the argument that the Patriot Way has been tried and failed...sometimes, you can't replicate someone's touch. Just the same way you can't pick up Eddie Van Halen's guitar and think you can play like Eddie. It doesn't work that way. The Raiders play better in the defense side of the ball than offense and Belichick is a master at designing the defense to neutralize a strong offensive. They are in a really tough division with veteran coaches who have had proven success so they need to bring in someone who knows more than them. If there is one coach that can beat Reid, it's Belichick.
    Another thing - the Raiders don't have a great track record in cutting or benching players that aren't performing. Belichick can stop that pattern cold in its tracks. You don't play, you don't look like you're giving 100% effort then you're gonna be at the end of the bench.
    TB12 is going to be that filter, that eye that scouts and highlights talent. TB12, if I know him and I've been a fan for years, wants to stop Mahomes' road to get 8 Super Bowl rings. And I don't blame him.

    Everyone needs to get Belichick coming back to the NFL with another team and winning a Super Bowl out of their heads. He's TOO old at this point to even turn a team around, and sorry but still too set in his ways wanting total control, all you have to do is look at the Pats to see the mess he left that team in to see how that works at his age. And maybe more importantly, NO head coach in NFL history has ever won a Super Bowl as the head coach with 2 different teams. So if that is your goal, which should be every team's goal, good luck with that.

      Weeb Ewbanks won the NFL Championship with both the Colts and the Jets, they just did not call it the Super Bowl back then. But it is all relative, so it can be done.
