First you make a video where you give us the total cost at the beginning of the video. Now, youre actually testing out your rig to see what you need, and not just tossing thousands of dollars on gear just to make your rig look cool. Got my sub. Looking forward to your next video
Regarding the fuel smell in the cabin, try changing your charcoal canister. I went with the AC Delco mod which consists of swapping out the factory charcoal canister for a cheaper replacement. I did this and the fuel smell was gone. Also if you need to troubleshoot your EGR, look at the EGR test kit from Huddexpo.
Great job!, she looks pretty solid . I built mine a 94 80 series two years in the making and spent 4 weeks in mountains this summer giving it the shake down. and its worthy good luck with rest of your build
I would definitely have some sliders picked out and in a cart ready to buy before the next outing if it's another place like that. That looked like fun except the temps, but hey at least you weren't in Florida. I would have been in shorts😎.
depending on your budget, rear locker and a winch would be the first thing i recommend. wheelin with your buddies you can conquer most obstacles with just a rear locker. when you're by yourself the winch will come in handy when you get yourself in a pickle. always be prepared: ARB recovery gear, smittybilt, it don't matter. recovery skills are important. most wheelers don't know how your floor mats can help you get unstuck. and then sliders if you like your rocker panels
Came here for the Land cruiser. Left with one of the most inspirational DIY videos of a an art along with a song of pure beauty starting from 5:26 - 9:00. If someone wouldn't mind please help me find the name of this song if it is not RM's personal work :)
Sliders are next IMHO. You are really limited in which trails you can explore without sliders. You never know what you might run into if you haven't been on a trail before, and if you crunch the rocker panels it is major work to repair. Those Icon wheels look fantastic!
Huge congrats on the build Ricky, it looks awesome, and it clearly has a some serious potential! Definitely resonated with the "sentimental" piece 🤙🏻Question for you: What degree of caster correction are you running?
Thanks guys! It has eimkeith radius arm mounts which correct 3* I believe. I still need to add additional correction but it’s at least driveable now. I’m thinking aftermarket radius arms, not a huge fan of caster bushings.
Great video mate. Good to first test. Loved the inclusion of getting the camera at the end. Maybe next investment is some AC so you stay cool while driving
I recently picked up a 94 LC80. And sliders have been high on my list. So odd that such a popular vehicle has so little in the way of aftermarket options.
Thank you! It’s either going to get a repaint of the same color (dark emerald pearl), dark blue (nightshadow pearl), or some paint code similar to those from a different manufacturer.
Hey brother nice rig. I have one too and I definitely need to lift mine while my suspension are also blown. Would you still recommend the ARB OME? Coz mine is also absorbing all the bumps and its unstable. Im new to this and not really looking to empty my pocket just yet. I do have the 33s at the moment. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Look a little like gollum sneaking into Mordor on that last clip there 😂
Why was I running like that? 😅🤣

Love the 80 series when put together properly they are one of the most capable vehicles off road
Good stuff! Have to agree on ride quality. Went from 3rd gen Tacoma to 80 series LX, and much more comfortable!

Gotta love the literal "brushed" finish!! Great video and I love the look, fitment and stance. Amazing rig!
Thank you!
Congrats on all of your hard work getting you to this point! Continued success to you and the rig!

Had no doubt that everything would run smoothly! Great vid!

The dreaded EGR. I hoped mine was a cheap answer. Ended up being the vacuum switch buried under everything. Best of luck.
Fun!

So close to kissing that back driver door! Good job avoiding it👍
Great video. The trail looks fun. Is that the Phoenix area?
FJ is looking great Ricky!!
What's the best suspension for overlanding? Front and reae bumpers, winch, rear drawers, etc.
You are amazing, what a good built.

Agreed, and thanks!

We should probably chat more often about land cruiser mods and upgrades. I forgot you guys are on an LC80 frame.

pretty sweet!
Congrats 🎉
Thanks!
You should put sliders, by the time you need them it will be too late. I install them in all my rigs and Thanks I did. I saved my car.
Definitely high on my list of things to do next.

@@TheCajunGaijin It's because of the awkward catalytic converter setup on these 80s. Check out white knuckle offroad.
Yep, for sure!
Good video but your nuts to go wheeling without a spare lol. Glad it worked out though. What’s next on your list of things to do?
Have to be honest, I've never went wheeling *with* a spare LOL. I just installed sliders... need to do lockers, axles, etc.
You have done an excellent job!! I know Toyota paint sucks, do you have any plans for paint or anything like that? Love the 80!
Thank you! It’s either going to get a repaint of the same color (dark emerald pearl), dark blue (nightshadow pearl), or some paint code similar to those from a different manufacturer.
@@RM_Garage that sounds awesome, my wife’s cousin did a clear wrap over his new cruiser and it looks good, almost didn’t even know he had it wrapped.
Look at the charcoal canister for the gas smell. Does you fuel tank pressure up?
Will do. Gas cap releases some pressure when removed but nothing crazy.
If you don't fix it it can lead to a cracked fuel tank. Google leaking top of tank. I had to replace my tank.

I don't think anything is wrong with OME. Long player in the game.
Is that Hemingway Butte area?
Close to it, yeah
Checking to see if you need gears? With 38s? Yes.
Sorry. I’ve been watching the build series so I’m sure you’ve already addressed this lol.
Wheels specs and tires specs? Thank you
Icon rebound pro 17x8.5, 0 offset with 1.5” spidertrax spacers. Tires are 38x13.5r17 milestar Patagonia
@@RM_Garage thank you

No spare? Duh!
Awesome video, nice shakedown.
