Help me understand how Ryan Day is one of the best coaches in the nation? I’m a Buckeye so no hate and I don’t agree that the rest of the nation hates us maybe the SEC. Ryan Day record doesn’t mean much when you consider he was favorite to win in about 95% of those games if not higher. If you give most guys an A+ team going against B+ teams all year then loses when he gets to see another A+ how is he a good coach ?
@1raykost1 There's so much that goes into being a HC other than Wins and Losses -- 1) assembling your roster to include your subordinate coaches, 2) developing your players, 3) scheme or putting your players in the position to win to name a few. One can argue about the impact of "brand" and money on all of this, but the bottom line -- imo as an Ohio State 'hater' -- is that your program consistently grades in the top 5 or 10 of ALL of these areas (scheme is probably the most debatable), so I think it's only fair to say Day is *at least* above average. Just look at other big name programs to see how much worse you could do.
This weekend will be anticlimactic snoozefests compared to last weekend... unless it doesn't happen

I'd add RB to the position group that's declined since Bobo's first stint. Obviously not as drastic, but without Etienne transferring in, we've not had a Chubb or Gurley.
UAB lost 71-20 to Tulane last week.

I can't stand the "lack of weapons" or "bad players" excuse. As if QB's and WR's fall from the heavens landing in random places, and Monken happened to have 3 rosters better than this one?
Haha Monken had Pickens, Darnell, Brock, Ladd and AD Mitchell. Non of which were drafted after the third round.
Is there a second round receiver on this roster?
@TheFilmGuyNetwork Amazing how Bobo is here for 12 years without good enough rosters, Monken gets here for 3 and has amazing players, Bobo takes back over and now we have a lack of weapons again. Maybe Ladd wasn't wide open in the flat because he was beating his man 2 yards past the line of scrimmage. Maybe Monken just tricked the defense.
Compare 2020 with this year. All sec schedule, first year OC had to install via zoom, QB opts out a week before the season started. No ladd, no brock, still more explosive than we are currently.

CJ Allen, Maliki Starks, Mykel Williams, TID, Smael Mondon. Can you name a defensive player on USC's roster that will get drafted in the 2nd round?
The thing is, coaches rightfully BRAG about the talent they have because that reflects on them as coaches. You don't think Kirby is bringing up to recruits the long list of first round defensive studs he's coached? Doesn't that PROVE he's superior to Riley on defense, not the other way around?
@calebhuff3397 1) you disprove (your words not mine) your own premise in the last paragraph. 2) that's the most laughable take I've heard in a minute. Bear Alexander was still projected to be a 1st rounder until he opted out yet again. I'd love to hear a more foundational argument behind your assertion than simply "Kirby has elite players therefore he can't coach."
@@denniscarney5249 It wasn't a real argument. Brooks is asserting that Monken had better results because monken had better players. If I apply this same logic to Kirby and Riley, you can hear how ridiculous it sounds. Kirby has better players BECAUSE he's a better coach, not the other way around. Monken had better players than Bobo because Monken was the better coach.

@@denniscarney5249 Meanwhile, I scroll 3-5 minutes to find the magic spot and progressively lose interest in watching this show. Been on it for 4 years, and gave Brooks many ducats, but this is a real deal breaker. I am watching him less and less. Already dropped the Patreon and might unsub. Lots of other Dawg content out there competing for my attention.

i think ryan day has a losing record vs ranked teams not in the big 10. yeah he's 4-5. he's racked up a lot of wins vs soft big 10 teams. 2 big wins that are not notre dame or in the big 10. Softie McSofterton.
