What a neat machine, I must burn 50+ pallets a year. I live in a semi industrial area and there piles of them. We had a super cold January a few years ago and I burnt nothing but pallets and kept the house super toasty. Like you said most of them are hard wood and give off good heat. Darrel's machine is very neat slices through those nails like nothing.

We can’t get rid of em at work easily, put em on the corner with a free sign and they sit.
One of my buddies built a wood shed to house about 5-6 cords and built it from pallets.
Another cat I know built a whole 2 car garage from em, nice if ya have the time.
Haha they can be handy and a nuisance all at once.

I was researching it myself. Hope this helps. Ive used one its great, Occasional adjusting the blades and sharpening, hydraulic fluid lvls and thats it basically.
