- This is the second of five concerts from the summer of 2015 recorded live at the historic 1889 waterfront resort, Fountain Point inLake Leelanau, MI. The setting is Pure Michigan. For those who don't know-Billy Strings & Don Julin play traditional American string band music with energy levels usually associated with extreme sports. This is your grandaddy's bluegrass delivered with a pedal to the metal intensity of a moonshine runner. This performance was recorded on July 1, 2015.
Absolutely one of the best raw performances you will see!! Billy is on his way to being a star. I wished I could have seen this performance. I like his new band but these three were raw and Billy held nothing back. A classic! This will be played long after Billy is a big star.I hope Billy remembers his roots and does not get too tied up with being technical.

Yep I responded on one of his uploads to just be genuine you know himself always and dont get caught up in all the hype that goes with being a musician of his caliber . The young man has all the tools to carry him through out his life as long as he just remains who he is at that point in life and proud to say he is still the same person I started listening to , peace be with you Billy Strings !!!

52:30-52:40 Don is the man. Kinda sounds like he just got back from learning transcendental meditation in India with that run. Plus that zoom in on his face where it looks like hes surprised how nasty hes getting. thats the good stuff right there.
I was about to say, the few minutes leading up to that point are golden too. This is one of the funkiest, jammiest creeks out there!
