Absolutely one of the best raw performances you will see!! Billy is on his way to being a star. I wished I could have seen this performance. I like his new band but these three were raw and Billy held nothing back. A classic! This will be played long after Billy is a big star.I hope Billy remembers his roots and does not get too tied up with being technical.
0:00 - Salt Creek (Traditional) 5:15 - My Sweet Blue Eyed Darling (Bill Monroe) 8:36 - I've Just Seen The Rock Of Ages (Ralph Stanley) 12:36 - Dealing Despair (William Apostol) 15:48 - Albino Skunk (Don Julin) 19:22 - Long Journey Home (Traditional) 22:55 - Ole Slew Foot (Jim and Jesse) 25:58 - Red Rocking Chair (Traditional) 29:25 - Freeborn Man (Jimmy Martin) 36:55 - No More Paper Logs (Don Julin) 40:34 - Summertime (Doc Watson) 45:01 - Dust In A Baggie (William Apostol) 47:47 - Meet Me At The Creek - (William Apostol) 57:04 - Big Mon (Bill Monroe) 59:21 - Long Gone (Don Reno) 1:03:00 - Little Maggie (Traditional)
52:30-52:40 Don is the man. Kinda sounds like he just got back from learning transcendental meditation in India with that run. Plus that zoom in on his face where it looks like hes surprised how nasty hes getting. thats the good stuff right there.
Yep I responded on one of his uploads to just be genuine you know himself always and dont get caught up in all the hype that goes with being a musician of his caliber . The young man has all the tools to carry him through out his life as long as he just remains who he is at that point in life and proud to say he is still the same person I started listening to , peace be with you Billy Strings !!!
This kids going to hit it big !

This was the peak for his music. This time.

I was about to say, the few minutes leading up to that point are golden too. This is one of the funkiest, jammiest creeks out there!
lmao that's a great way to put it

"with energy"?? That's an understatement.
hot set
56:18, if thats your reaction to that version of Creek, the future is bleak
seriously, what the hell is wrong with those boys
Anyone know what Billy might have on his pedal board here?
Why does no one ever credit Kevin Gills in the titles?
because they were billed as Billy Strings and Don Julin back then
nice ,
1:05:00 thank me later
