You’re so right, labour only (pretend to) care about the people. Couple of problems there, money matters, it REALLY matters and they truly have no idea how it works. They think they should control it and everything else like Hitler, Stalin and other radical left wing leaders in the past did. Look how that went. And if you think I’m wrong about money - are you working at the supermarket for free? Yeah I thought not. All the best to you

@@hubristicmystic dropped ya tinfoil hat mate. Money does matter, but only because of its impact in people's lives. It is a means to eat, be housed and so on. Controlling money has a mixed history and not all of it has been as bad as you seem to be suggesting. Keynesian economics, which was what neoliberalism replaced, was the system in place in NZ during the period known as the Golden Weather, where we had under employment and one of the highest standards of living in the world.
Stalin, was a psychopath and the picture in the USSR was a complicated one. Let's just say that their issues were far greater than anything to do with their currency.
Hitler, also a psychopath, changed the Reich Mark to the Deutch Mark. A magic trick that ended the rampant inflation present in Germany pre 1936. Hitler's economy boomed, he was very friendly with business and used slave labour. Quite the modern capitalist really. Chrysler, Ford, Disney, etc, were all in bed with the Nazi's. Stalin was not so lucky.

      Deuteronomy 22:20-21
"When a woman has a discharge, if her discharge in her body is blood, she shall continue in her menstrual impurity for seven days; and whoever touches her shall be unclean until evening. Everything also on which she lies during her menstrual impurity shall be unclean, and everything on which she sits shall be unclean."
      (Leviticus 15: 19-20)
*"I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet."(1 Trimothy 2:12)
"Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." (Isaiah 13:15-16)
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." (I Samuel 15:2-3)
5 As I listened, he said to the others, “Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion. 6 Slaughter the old men, the young men and women, the mothers and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the old men who were in front of the temple.(Ezekiel 9:5-6)
"When men fight with one another, and the wife of the one draws near to rescue her husband from the hand of him who is beating him, and puts out her hand and seizes him by the private parts, then you shall cut off her hand."(Deuteronomy 25:11-12)
"The women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church."(1 Corinthians 14:34)
For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
And the company shall stone them with stones, and dispatch them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire. (Ezekiel 23:46-47)
I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women r@ped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city. (Zechariah 14:2)

As a New Zealander (who did not vote for her) I am very impressed at how she has managed this country in times of crisis. Her best attribute is that she knows what she does not know, and listens to experts. Our health system, and it's managers are doing a stellar job. Our country has universal healthcare, which is coping very well with this potential emergency. We have less than 20 people hospitalized with Covid 19 out of a population of 4.8 million, and none of these people will have a massive bill to pay when they leave hospital.
We are in for some tough times as we rebuild our economy after these extensive measures, but if we can tackle that how we have tackled this, then it's a battle we are ready to fight as well.

@@dancingwithnature5303 Hi! We are both indeed blessed by nature , we have much to be grateful for.
Yes , we have Jacinda Adern , but she isn't the only reason we've had some success.
I believe the crucial ingredient is that partisanship has , for the most part been completely put aside and as we say down here , we are all steering the waka (ship) in the same direction .
We can pat ourselves on the back but that would be terribly premature . The fight can't be won in just a few parts of the world .
What would we do when we become "covid free "" ? Keep our borders closed ,stop anyone from coming here because they could rekindle it all over again ?
I think not . The answer is this is one big war and you don't win a war with one small victory .
So , in a slightly selfish way , this is why what happens to you matters so much.
If this exists anywhere it exists everywhere.
I wish you and all people a safe passage through this ,Kia Kaha as we say , have strength .
If I had once piece of advise to you ,even though I have no right to give advise , so we'll call this an opinion , it's this .
Do the things your President won't tell you to do. If it were me I would be more inclined to listen to someone like Governor Cuomo of New York . To me , he makes good sense . But that's just my opinion .
Another reason I worry . at a personal level , I have relatives in Texas and really need to feel they are safe .
This is a little long winded but I feel there is a need to include all in the battle .
To be melodramatic : we all win or we all lose , no middle ground.

Most of the country has been prevented from working and welfare money is being handed out freely. The burden will be on taxpayers such as workers and small business that will see their livelihoods crushed. I'm hoping this does not lead to a suffering unseen in the country since it's creation. I can tell you in the city I live in everyone has locked down. The only time I ever see people when I go to work or when coming home are people going for a walk or run. My sisters live in Wellington and they said it's like a ghost town there too but they feel safe. Aunt Cindy's response to the pandemic has been amazing. When she held the press conference telling everyone that we were moving from Level 3 to Level 4 of the lock down, I was in the office with two of my colleagues watching on Facebook. There's normally people coming in and out of the office but most just didn't show up for work that day or were told to stay home. My main concern was whether people would be disciplined enough to stay put. I work for local government so am classed as an essential worker, helping respond to the thousands of welfare requests from all over the country. We currently have teams that deliver tech to our remote workers and once they've done that, they can't come back to the building because their bubble is too big so they have to stay home for the rest of the lock down. I really feel for people in other countries, especially the U.S. Trump has been irresponsible in terms of the pandemic and all those poor people dying alone, it's really heart-breaking watching it on TV. There are people here in NZ who feel Jacinda's response was too slow and think she's useless but they are saying this within the safety of their own home, COVID free, healthy and hopefully happy. She has done an incredible job and that's all I can say about that.

Complaining that they are waiting to long to have their calls answered. Everyone needs to stop and remember that they wouldn’t want there needs dismissed and brushed aside so that the call waiting times are reduced, and you cannot train up the numbers of additional staff needed for such unprecedented numbers of calls in 48 hours during a lockdown - be patient NZers, and treat the people on the phones with respect, they care, they want to do their best for you, but, it takes time, so your wait will be worth it in the end!

Speaking as a Kiwi, I think the thing that's really helped us is that we have faith in our government and our institutions. It's not blind faith, and we do hold our governments accountable for their failures, but there is generally a mindset that the government can help solve our problems. So when the government concluded that we need to lockdown, that's what we've done, most of us know that we need to work together to solve this.

Agree. Very proud that they not only acted decisively, but also react to criticisms by experts, opposition leaders and the public and also they are off their own initiative doing things like getting homeless people into motels when most people wouldn’t have noticed or given scared about those people. That’s going above and beyond to me

I'm a Maori Aotearoan ,but even my ancestors were immigrants .
The only difference between them and us is the date they arrived .
Most immigrants , then and now , only want to do the best they can for their families . And in my experience they work bloody hard to do so .
We also have a younger demographic because most immigrants are young families . They add more than they take and I for one will appreciate that when I retire and need govt or health support , they will be the taxpayers footing the bill .
