Hearing this walking out of the dorm for the first time was a moment I'll never forget
Changing Seasons still that jam that came out of nowhere first time I heard it.
This song fucked around and became my favorite nighttime then of the franchise and one of my top 5 soundtracks of the series
Which is wild because I don’t know how the series topped Beneath The Mask when it comes to nighttime themes but they managed to do it

I love the fact that no matter what persona game you play the music always is elevated like no matter what location you visit in any persona game the fact that there is individual tracks for each location amazes me and I like that kind of switch up where sometimes when you're in the middle of the game the music changes subtly
The soundtracks are so good too is the best thing. I remember each time I played the persona games for the first time, I kept hearing more and more bangers the further I got in.

I like to imagine the background noise adds to the experience of hearing the song when you’re actually playing, so when John Cena puts down the controller, the game would still be playing and he’s just vibing the song. Just like the average player would, see there’s a story here🤓

Music is the bomb, but once you complete tanaka and mutatsu, and interacting with all the dorm residents, theres nothing else to do other than using the pc software which i alr finished in the first half of the game to increase stats

If we're talking nighttime music in Persona games I honestly prefer this one over Beneath the mask from Persona 5.
People who started the Persona series with P5 are so smitten over it's jazzy music yet imo Persona 3's soundtrack will always be the best (any version of Persona 3's soundtrack at that) and I've always preferred P3's over P5's
Most of the music in P3 ACTUALLY wanna make you get up and bust some moves whereas P5's soundtrack really is just a "vibe" thing which sure P5 fans liked it because of that but I personally like music in games that really make you wanna dance.
Now I WOULD'VE said a better track than this hands down is Battle For Everyone's Souls (aka a awesome rock/metal,funky rendition of everyone's favorite track in every Persona game,The Velvet room) but this is about nighttime music so I'll exclude it for now.

The jazzy soundtrack in P5 fulfills it’s purpose.
Beneath the Mask in particular is a very laidback chill track that creates a relaxing atmosphere surrounding the game. Aka the perfect song for a coffee shop which is where Ren lives. It’s not meant to be a song to “dance to” it’s simply meant to be background, similar to Tokyo Daylight
Color Your Night is definitely one of my favorite songs the series has ever released though so I do agree that it’s better. But let’s not act like 2 banger nighttime soundtracks cannot coexist. Plus I’d argue P5 has more songs you can dance to than P3 but that’s just me
@@KikayaAi Well then we're just built different cuz I was just never a fan of Beneath the mask (plus too focused on all the sidequests P5 has which is overwhelmingly a lot lol).
Now see yeah there are VERY few tracks in P5 that are catchy and I do like Life Will Change probably my absolute favorite track in P5 I can say rivals my love for Mass Destruction in this game hands down.
P5 sure has Life Will Change,Rivers in the Desert,Last Surprise,Ark (Shido's palace theme) but unlike everyone else obviously those are the ONLY actual good tracks P5 has imo.
P3 on the other hand has Mass Destruction the fan favorite of course,Wiping all Out (the battle music for the female protag from P3 Portable),Want to be close (the school theme for P3 VERY underrated track imo), Memories of You (ending credits song for P3 another fan favorite P3 track),Burn My Dread - last battle version - probably THE best track in P3 I will say especially the Resurrection version of it which beats ANY biased P5 track in existence but opinions apparently vary and again like I said Battle For Everyone's Souls is another catchy good one too.
So for me P3 has way more, (debatable) better tracks than P5 but I digress.
Oh and funny how people praise P5's jazz music as being "so good",etc when jazz music has always been a thing long before P5 was even a thing so I fail to understand what makes P5's music any different that it gets all the unnecessary praise but opinions vary and to each their own I guess.
@carloscorzo8935 I get this a lot, I really like P3s soundtrack. And I do think it’s probably better overall than the P5 soundtrack. I just wanted to explain why that song works for me personally. I think it’s a chill little track.
I get P5 isn’t unique, it’s some Jazz music at the end of the day. But Lyn’s vocals are also amazing, and I think the Jazz fits the game very well. I’d say all the songs you listed plus Price, I Believe,the intro tracks, and Take Over are also notable tracks that deserve praise. But it probably gets the most praise because up until P3 Reload, it was the biggest, most successful game in the franchise. Even if it might not be the best soundtrack in the series
I still think it’s unnecessary to compare the 2 to be honest. They both try different things with the sound track. A good thing Altus’ sound team does is make each soundtrack feel very unique for each of the game. So it’s kinda hard to compare them to me
@@KikayaAi Persona 5 may have been the most successful entry BUT it's Persona 3 that has and continues to remain the fan favorite of the series for a reason (we have the female protag,Kotomi to thank for that aside from of course it's soundtrack).
Hence P5 and it's spin-offs,etc have featured music and not to mention costumes that reference persona 3 as DLCs.
Hell Amongst those that played P5 are (obviously) those that have played previous persona games including P3 and some even still prefer P3 over P5 which is saying something but again....I digress 😜
P5 ain’t even really the most successful entry anymore cuz Reload sold the most but what I mean is that P5 was the game that kickstarted Persona into the mainstream eye. And for a lot of people, that was their first Persona game.
I do think the love for P3 goes deeper than what you brought up, if you look at the history of the series. P3 was really the first game that set Persona apart and made it the franchise we see today, it introduced social links, the calendar system, and overall leaned less into the traditional RPG side of things like P2 and 1. Kotone is great, but I don’t think she’s specifically and the soundtrack are the reasons P3 was so beloved. I think it has more to do with its story and messaging. And I think the love for it will grow more now that the remake is the best selling game in the franchise
