    Took a few bad slams catching frame wall on the ground and sold them after one session. I'm sure they would have been great after some cess slides but it was a really bad time trying to turn and push off. Kinda Oysi I would have kept them a little longer, but am happy with the set up I eventually landed on.

      Yeah I know what your saying about the frame walls man. I oysi they were a little thinner, would make topsides a but easier too

      @@chrischadwick1 I think you did a good job and you're right about the uniqueness of the original frame. As someone with a 9.5-10ish foot it's great fun for me as well.
      I'm a big fan of slightly longer frames and like you mentioned the coast is great a few pushes and you're off!
      Also the variety of colourful options is a bonus for me as well.

    Cheers dude, bought a set of the originals today after watching this. I've already got the Kaltik V2 so was some useful advice here - have gone with a slightly smaller wheel size of 68mm & 56mm which should make the length and ride height a bit more comfortable

    • @chrischadwick1

      Thats awesome man. I've ridden the originals 68/56 and it was awesome. Still really fast and stable but much easier for grinds. Particularly topsides 👌Enjoy!

    I've just got myself a set of the original Oysi frames and I am properly in love with them. With the rocker using 72mm/60mm it feels more manoeuvrable than my flat 64mm GC mega that's a 270mm wheelbase. I have found it a bit harder to get my royal grinds down especially with them on my FR AP skates which are very stiff but for riding around the park and getting my swivel on they're amazing. Also that FR soul with the wheel wells cut in already fit the 72/60 with only the slightest clearance. I don't think I will get a medium Oysi as the Mega fits a similar purpose for me and it has really impressed me as well with it's wheelbite protection. I went back to antirocker for a session recently and I don't think I will ever choose it over a flat set up again.

    What's the max wheel size you could use on the SL's without adapting the boot?

  • @wanya0got0it0goin0on
    @wanya0got0it0goin0on Год назад

    Do you think the medium frame is more maneuverable being that it has a shorter wheel base length? Do you think you’re more likely to slip out of the groove on the original frame vs the medium frame? Do you think having a taller frame makes cess slides and royals harder to hit? Do you think that the ratio of soul plate to frame height should be closer in height for optimal performance?

    You make me want to try these out again. Skated these on my RB Solos when I had them and it was such a fun set up. Regrettably I got rid of them and tried the frames on 909s and HATED it. Just felt really off and unstable and the Mediums were horribly slow it didn't make sense.. Waiting for the new RB skates is killing me haha

    • @ThatShaunBoy
      @ThatShaunBoy 3 года назад +1

      @@chrischadwick1 I actually liked the design for the most part and will defo try them again but on different boots. I just hated the way they felt on 909s, just felt horribly slow and clumsy. Maybe it was down the wheel configuration they force you into (I don't like 65s because they're always square profile. 64s are usually nice and pointy but then who's making a matching profile 57mm for flat? I could do a rounded/bulltet 58 but didn't really want a rocker on what is a pretty short frame. And you go any lower than 58mm in the middle and you get sidewall scrape every time you turn).. It's pretty minor and probably misplaced but would definitely be up for trying them again at some point

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  3 года назад +1

      @@ThatShaunBoy yeah thats a good point man. I agree there way too short for a rocker of any significance. I wonder how they would feel 68/60/60/68? 🤔

    Is it possible to ride the 257mm Oysi medium with size 9/43 skate? I have the original Oysi frame and it's way too long for my taste. I used to skate flat FT3 where maneuverability was just perfect so I want to get as close to that feeling as possible.

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  3 года назад +2

      Yeah no problem as long as your boot is UFS then any UFS frame will fit regardless of length. See the oysi rockering table (link in description) to see which wheel size and rockering options will work best for the way you like to skate 👍 Hope that helps man

    No pun intended but I oyshi I never bought 72s for my wish (original) frames BECAUSE riding fifth elements - I had to dremel and basically ruin the soul plates, yet they are so slow because their still be rubbing against ever so slightly even after I damaged my soul plates pretty badly that I don't want to try removing any more from them anymore ...
    So I switched them back to the stock flat 60s, and the wysh frames are collecting dust.

    If i am footsize 10.5 should i get classic or medium frame? As i felt my them 909 original frame already 270mm lenght so it might not have any difference. Wish to hear your advise and thanks in advance. 😊

    • @chrischadwick1
      @chrischadwick1  2 года назад +1

      Is that UK or US 10.5? I would say the original is going to feel too long for most people on boot sizes smaller than UK 9 US 10. But that's just my opinion. The original is very long I think 283mm. If in doubt the medium is still an excellent choice
