Great tips! What also helped me when coming back and learning the basics was having a p-rail in the basement and drilling stalls, especially during wintertime. If you haven't got a basement, any 1m rail you can bring out or any curb will do. Even when I wasn't really skating because of bad weather or time constraints, I was able to train my muscle memory.

Had that last year with my crucial ligament torn. Not so funny to get back into the car and drive home alone. Thanks man! Yeah I took your advice and have got those for a wizard setup. They look so sick with the intuitions. I thought the blue st8s were dope but that st10 metallic navy is beautiful! 🔥
I absolutely despise learning how to skate coping, it is zero fun to me BUT I really, really want to have a least a few tricks because the idea of being able to skate coping IS really fun, and seeing people skate coping well looks amazing and would just be generally useful to have. If that makes sense hah.. I'm going to have to commit eventually and just learn it but MY GOSH it just kills me every time. Maybe a caveat to the last point is sometimes you have to sacrifice fun in order to have more fun in the future, or maybe I just hate learning coping too much haha
Oh ma, yeah learning to skate coping is a massive ball ache but the rewards are definitely worth it. Your right, sometimes you have to grit your teeth and work hard for the long term gain. I definitely finish some tricks and think 'thank god that's over' haha
@@chrischadwick1 hah, I've definitely had those moments! during self filming especially (which is a brilliant point by the way, the amount of times I've redone annoying tricks to the point of now having them on lock. It's how I learned most wizard stuff to be honest hah)
@@ThatShaunBoy yeah its so helpful. Yeah ive been meaning to ask you about how you learnt your wizard moves. Iv'e watched the Rollerbalding tutorial but i haven't found many others that have been that helpful. Any tips or content recommendations? :)
@@chrischadwick1 I discovered that one late on but always noted it as basically the ONLY wizard tutorial.. there's some old Shaun Unwin videos that explain the basic moves too but they're not super clear from memory. It was honestly just watching videos in slowmo and trying to copy it, once I learned the gazelle everything came from that. Once you learn that and understand how inside and outside edges work (which is a constant leaning process) almost everything else is just a variation of that. Also, a couple of years ago I visited Canada and got to skate with Unwin and Leon which blew my mind, learnt some of the fundamentals a lot better and those one footed "S" curves

@@chrischadwick1 Cheers dude. Same goals as 2021 tbh! Backside stall and frontside stall 180 in, a couple of basic grinds on a manual box or p-rail, drop into the foam pit at my local park. Magic slide on big wheels. And not stress out about lack of progress. You're 100% right - aim Number 1 is to have fun.
