    Now that's what you call a hill top fortification!! Aside from the hotel being a blot on the landscape, it still looks amazing. Another mouth to feed I see. 😉 Great vid guys. 😎

      Thanks Gareth. It was an enormous fort and to have 2 so close together, seemed so over the top, but so lovely.
      Haha it's just one more mouth that we have to feed regularly. We feed plenty of random mouths that change as we move too. 😂😂 Thanks for your comment 😘💜🤟

      Thanks Towah. We have boundless love for all of them, but the space...not so much. 🤣 He'll never take the place of Maypiya, but he will be very much loved. 😻

    Lovely locations! The hike up the hill to the castle(s) looked exhausting! Hope the new family member is settling in well. Cheers

      Yes indeed Steven, almost 900 steps would be difficult enough without the wind that we experienced that day.
      The little man is doing great thanks. He adores our other cat Spud and is learning to trust our dog, after being chased and bitten by a dog before we adopted him. He will never be able to take the place off Maypiya, but he is utterly adorable and a great fit for our family. 😻 Thanks so much for your comment. 😘💜🤟

      We loved it too. We were very tempted to go back and spend Christmas there after we had visited Athens. We're sure we will go back again at some point. 😍

    Love the view in new town. Sooo sorry about Bart. Praying he's better. Congrats on new child, no way to get out of it, they give you that look you can't resist! ❤❤ so many kiddos to you climbing up there. I cannot look down the drops, gives me the creeps. Lovely views though.
    We've had horrible winter storms. Temps below zero, even got snow and this is a state that never gets snow! Keeping an eye on frozen pipes.
    Been looking at Spain blogs ... thought the southern coast had winters but we're milder 🤔 and I read folks sleep with wool socks, flannel pj's, flannel sheets, wear winter hats and literally freeze. I realize some properties are older and may not have much heating. Then you have very thick walls great for summer. I guess winter temps are for @ 2 but ❄️❄️❄️ months. Fireplaces or wood burning stoves are in living rooms. I see people saying if sunny best to go outside to warm up vs freezing inside 🙈🙈🙈🙊🙊🙊
    I can't believe it's that bad but that's what i read. My goodness! Folks with electric blankets or using 2 duves and no night trips to pee lol! Is it that bad? Some say if you have heat and use its it's expensive. I've used hot water bottles in So America in their winter cause there's no heat. The warm up house with fireplace and wood burning stove in middle of house so it takes chill off the air but you gotta really bundle up at night. AND they sleep with windows slightly open as well. 😢❄️❄️❄️😭 wow
    Did you pick out a name for your new son? Love the collar?

      @elainebramson7042 Hi Elaine,
      Thankfully Bart is feeling much better thanks. He still wobbles if he shakes his head, but otherwise he's good. I would take on all the street cats and dogs if I could. I hate seeing animals hungry and unloved.
      Spain does have milder winters, but it's different. It will be much warmer during the day. People often wear short sleeves etc, but the nighttime is colder. Hence the going outside to warm up. Also if you are near the coast, the humidity can make it feel bitterly cold. Older Spanish houses are designed to stay cool and can be difficult to heat in the winter. Most don't have central heating. The log burners often heat the main living space, but not much further. Our bedroom used to drop to 12-15°c at night, even with the extra insulation that we added when we reformed the house. We never slept in hats though. Thermal socks sometimes, PJ's and winter duvet definitely, but not hats. 🤣 We're sure that modern houses are easier and cheaper to heat. We just bought our house with our hearts and didn't think too much about the practicalities. 🤷🏼‍♀️ We'll choose more practically next time.🤣
      Yes, the new furkid is called Theseus, Theo for short. In hindsight, Turnip would have suited him better, he's very clumsy. 🤣🤣

    And a new family member arrives, I think we all knew this was going to happen 😁 What a gorgeous beast he is too. Do you have to get him vaccinated etc before you leave Greece, or does it not matter so much if you're going from one EU country to another? Though going into Turkey might be different? I'm sure you'll get all his jabs etc regardless
    Nafplion looks gorgeous and some outstanding views. All that history and famous mythology, what a place to explore, even if so much is lost.
    I did have to laugh at that hotel plonked on top of the ruin 🤨
    I'm sure Greece has many struggles and complications trying to preserve these things. Unfortunately so much is lost already, but that's true everywhere of course.
    Sorry to hear about Bart but glad he seems to be on the mend.
    Safe travels guys, take care ❤🤟

      @findingxanadulife  3 дня назад

      Hey guys,
      Yes, empty nest syndrome is a real thing. To be fair, he chose us, I just encouraged him to work host magic on Darren. 🤣🤣
      He's had to have his rabies vaccination to be able to have a Greek European Passport, so he can move around Europe with us. Spud and Bart have Spanish European Passports. All we need to do is wait 21 days after his rabies vaccine before we can cross borders with him. The vaccinations for infectious diseases aren't compulsory for travel, but we have got him started on them anyway. He needs a second dose in another week's time. If we had adopted a cat from Turkey it would have been more difficult because of being Non-EU, but we could have done so got an animal health certificate in turkey, to travel outbound, then got an EU passport afterwards. That might happen with a dog later in our travels...🤣
      Naplion was lovely. A lot of steps, but amazing views. The hotel was just ridiculous. If you're going to wreck stuff to build it there, at least look after it..!! 🤷🏼‍♀️
      Thankfully Bart is so much better now. Occasionally he will lose his balance if he shakes his head, but otherwise back to his adventuring self. We're very relieved.
      Thanks for your comment guys,
      Much love 😘💜🤟
