Yes, I am a ski instructor and use my hands a lot outside in frigid temps, but have learned to wear a thin pair of cheap, knit mittens under a thick set of warm gloves. So when I take my hands out, the skin is not exposed. It's worst when touching wet things like fish, or metal like packing the car. Note that they opted to go home and warm up before cooking over the fire!

There was a time in my life I was so broke in college expenses, it's not funny but when you are really hungry, I think the game give them self. I had only Dove and field corn. I went to Horsetooth lake and caught trout and a man there told me about his son how had cancer. We cooked the fish that night and we shared words, he told me all about his son and I knew how fortunate I was and how small my situation was. We ate good fish and potatoes. You are really blessed. I know you deserve good fortune. I really admire your living style. God Bless You each day.

Eric, instead of using the slush spoon to clear your holes, use the auger to clear out the ice/snow after you've cleared around your hole. Makes things a lot easier & your not pulling the fish up over a mound of frozen waste. Just my opinion, always enjoy the vids you and Ariel put out.
