- Alaska's long snowy winters create a paradise for backcountry riding. In this episode we fire up the snowmachines and head to the mountains for a day full of fun. Deep snow leaves us retreating into an Alaskan spruce bog where we wind down by the campfire and make the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich.

I learned so many things watching this video. 1) snow machines aren’t that great in the snow! 2) always bring a chain saw, ax, firewood and a WIG on any extreme Alaskan adventure 3) If Kyle the mountain man wasn’t already married, women would be lining up to meet him 4) Ariel doesn’t mind getting snow all over her and Eric does.

When my sister and I were really young, still in the single digits of life, we went on adventures like that. Only we had a homemade, wooden sled and we're eating canned/ dehydrated food warmed up over a small fire built-in to the side of our snow dome. We were ice fishing in a small pond without any luck. I will never forget that time because to us there was no time. We we're friends along with being brother and sister. A very good day.
Today we are still best friends but I'm sitting on my hands as my sis is struggling for her life. Time is all I can think about sinse she has been in the ICU. Started out as sinus infection, then bronchitis, next pneumonia along with a positive covid test. It's been 21 days since I've been able to see or talk to my sis. Thanks for the good memories. Y'all are so blessed.
My heart is sad knowing what you’re going through. I hope your sis pulls through. My bro and I were as close, and he died several months into pandemic, basically started same way and ended with double pneumonia, no covid, but was in ICU and only got to see, be with him when ventilator was turned off. I hope your sister recovers. Big hug!

Both of your riding techniques have vastly improved these last couple of years! There’s two things I suggest to take them even further; a mountain bar, a semi-ridged loop on your handlebars to help pull the sled to one side while leaning and a lot more throttle. I know you guys aren’t out there racing but when in those precarious situations when you’re just about to get stuck a lot of throttle can really help!
Love watching your channel. I’m so jealous of your daily lives, keep doing what you’re doing and make a ton more videos!

I found them harder on the knees than my back. After I switched to a mountain sled , it was much easier on the knees and I didn't get stuck as often!

I just love ya'll! Found you about 6-8 weeks ago and I think I have watched about every video. Love how you take care of Bandit and Bo. Love the affection you show to each other. Eric I think Ariel is pretty much perfect and I love watching ya'll work. But fishing is, well, Eric, you need to listen to Ariel and "DON'T LOSE THE TENSION" if you want to get them fish outta that hole. Nope, I ain't no expert. I'm just a 70 year ole woman who's been around the block SEVERAL times. I'm from and still live in the mountains of NC. Love watching and I have to have my "fix" of Eric and Ariel every day!! Going to Alaska my husband , I could not believe how fresh the air smells,had no problems sleeping! Felt years younger from a restful vacation!
