    Dont try it first time on your own working iron . practice first , he makes it seems easy it

      I would absolutely recommend this for sure! I take it for granted that I have cut many bridgeports and I'm used to the quirks of porting under tight tolerances. If you have some scrap irons, try them first! And if necessary, use some thick tape to protect the 'out of bounds' areas. ✅️

    Fantastic video btw! This is exactly the type of instructional video that I rely on. No doubt in my mind that I will be coming back to this numerous times. Clear, concise, and well filmed. You're the man!

      What Dremel bit are you using for the porting btw? 😅

      I really appreciate the kind words dude 🖤🫂 Thank you! It would be a dream to do some proper scientific stuff for the Renesis, but one step at a time! Got a turbo kit to produce for everyone first. 🌬

    I never really understood, the housing must also be ported? Like the iron plate? 😁
    But in any case, it is so beautiful a bridgeport on a renesis 😍.

      Indeed! Just along the edge of the housing. You'll get to see how it's done in the next video 🥳

    Thoughts on bridging the centre plate?
    Do you run an opened ssv at idle to get those sweet sweet braps with a half bridge, or do you port the centre big so you dont need to.
    Thoughts on bridges with turbos (msp specific),
    And update on your rebuilt turbo motor
    (If you could respond please - sorry if i come across demanding)

    I have a a couple irons laying around that clearly had water bypassing the seals, because they have a bit of pitting on them. Realistically speaking, what's the worst that could happen by running them aside from potentially less compression? Just more wear onto the side seals? I've wanted to just goof around and do some silly porting on them and see how they run, but if it's going to end up with me having unusable housings I'd rather not lol. What's your thoughts on this?

    • @BlackstarMotorsport
      @BlackstarMotorsport  8 часов назад

      If there's pitting inside the engine, it would harm the sideseals over time for sure, especially if you can feel it. I would personally run it on my own engine if it was only for experimental purposes. 😂 I've used some proper nasty stuff in my car, hence why I go through so many engines!

    So im just waiting to hear back from my first real job. If I get it I’m wanting to get an rx8 as my first project car. Any tips on buying a second hand rx8? Anything I should be aware of and look out for? I’ve done some research into it but was wondering what are the 100% main things to look out for

    This may be a silly question, but what would happen if you combined the bridge ports with the stock ports for one very large port?

    • @SapphireNexus
      @SapphireNexus 17 часов назад +2

      The bridge is there to give the seals something to contact as the rotor spins. If you have it completely open, parts pop out and the engine goes boom very quickly.

    • @indianmarshmello.
      @indianmarshmello. 11 часов назад

      the corner seal would literally fall out and bad bad stuff would happen.

    • @BlackstarMotorsport
      @BlackstarMotorsport  4 часа назад

      As @SapphireNexus mentioned above, the 'bridge' is the line between the ports (holes). This functions as support, or a physical bridge for the seals. Without it, the seals would simply fall into the ports. ❌️ Sad times.

  • @jacob6325

    How’s the driveablity on a bridge ported engine vs a streetported one?

    • @indianmarshmello.
      @indianmarshmello. 11 часов назад

      I think generally speaking (no expert) it just has to do with low end torque, street port will have a bit more low end torque than the bridge, so if you are running a bridge it will be more jerky in low rpms and things like slipping the clutch to start driving at like a stoplight would need you to rev it up a bit higher to make up for the less torque.
      But from what I've heard on forums and from other rotary chads, a renesis bridgeport is kinda pointless because the gains aren't really there (since its N/A and timings and stuff), so like max you realistically would go with porting would be a streetport.

    • @BlackstarMotorsport
      @BlackstarMotorsport  4 часа назад

      All of what was mentioned by @indianmarshmello
      Having lived with a bridgeport for a number of years now, it's more annoying having a bridgeport.
      That brapping at idle? Yeah that isn't exclusive to being stationary. It still tries to brap part throttle below 3k, so it makes for a really annoying drive around cities at low RPM, slow cruising in say 5th or 6th at around 40/50mph is the same. I try to stray people away from it and encourage a street port instead, just because there's a whole load of drawbacks that come with it over a street port, with very little extra peak power in return at the expense of nicer driving qualities.
