Even then, 15 years ago, he had an impish happiness and humour at the piano, which are very attractive. His music-making is superb. Thank you for sharing this.
Had to listen to this jewel after listening to his Podcast when he spoke about this sonata. Fantastic!!! He is so young and so expressive. The way he plays these extraordinary dynamics is just awesome.
This was a revelation to me! Just incredible, the maturity of this performance considering the youthful age of the pianist. We can all take a lesson on playing legato from Igor Levit. Kol haKavod!

What a fine , intelligent , resourceful player ! The 2nd mov. I first heard when I was in 7th grade .I couldn't believe the solidity, gravity . I had never heard anything like it before the young lady was televised playing the wonderful 3rd mov. minuet and trio . It's esp. interesting to hear how different from Hadyn HerrB . is this early . A poignant, pleading lyricism like that of sonataNo.6 . Igor Levit seems a master here already at 18 -such taste ,wit balance in emotion . And his execution is so fine andclean one realizes he is in touch with his instrument !
Nur ein Wort: G r o ß a r t i g !
2023/2/23: The 2nd mov is fantastic... I practiced 2nd mov listening to this. And my teacher said my performance(2nd.mov) was beautiful in the last lesson.
00:45 - I don't really like the loudness he plays it this second time round. Generally good performance however. I am from the Beethoven line. Through Lechitizky and Nikolaev and Liberman.

Thank you too.

What wonderful feeling he is able to communicate! Lovely performance. Thank you, so much, for making this available.
What wonderful articulation - and such intelligent phrasing. Dynamic balance between the hands is exquisitely realized!

A crystal clear performance. A wonderful interpretation.
An incredibly talented expressive young pianist playing this early early Beethoven sonata.

How I enjoy this
Absolutely wonderful!
He would have been about 18 here - and already a master.
Amazing, how pure and beautiful sound and phrasing.
Bravo❗. Que charme❗
Thank you, just wonderful!
Highly enjoyable! That is how THIS story should be told! Thank you.

I don't really like this sonata but the interpretation is very fine.
Why don't you like it?
