Hey Dustin! I have autism and I love tow trucks so much, that I wish to be a tow truck driver one day! Keep up the great work with towing broken down and damaged cars! You rock!
For me if you know your truck or been doing towing for years and know the length of your bed you could drive the truck from underneath it by paying attention and knowing when to stop not before reaching the edge not for rookies or unsecured drivers because sometimes you don't want to damage driveways or asphalt with the bed or wheel lift by walking your truck
Dustin. Great video. Question. What is the difference between a right approach bed and regular bed. Thank you for the towing and recovery schooling. I'm in late 50s and want to become a towing operator. It's a profession that's hard but challenging to the mind. It's not for the brain dead people with no commen sense. I also watch your own beach recoverys. Stay Safe Please.
Good job getting it done! Once the drive wheels are on the ground everything else is easy. Definitely different with your style bed. Your best friend is expensive. 😂 WD-40 works great though.
It took my awhile to get the hang of walking with the wheel lift lol And yeah, that little thing cost me a pretty penny but he’s the best little dog I’ve ever had lol
@@Towtruck_Dustin I love the dog! I was talking about the WD-40 being expensive 😂 but yes, those those are expensive as well but they are great dogs a buddy of mine has a couple of them. Instead of walking the wheel lift you could lift the bed and drive the truck out from under it. Only works if the drive wheels are on the ground. When the wheels get to the end of the bed just tilt the bed then pull the bed in and keep adjusting it till it clears.
How exactly are you using the sting of the truck to push it, can we get a video about that? Is your landing gear not on the ground? and the truck in neutral? how u do that?
No, you’re not dragging it far enough or fast enough for any damage to occur. the tire would have to already be damaged, for anything to happen really.
What if you were picking up a vehicle that had a fuel leak? What advice could you give about the proper way to handle it. It would have to be pulled up onto the flat bed like the vehicle on this video. Worried about sparks and damage done towing it backwards.
Sorry to comment on so many of your videos but they keep popping up in my recommend but I wondered if you had any advice for turning a flatbed? I recently started driving and if there’s one thing I don’t grasp it’s controlling the tail swing
No worries. I’m glad to answer whatever questions you have. As far as turning it, and controlling the tail swing, think of it like, the rear pivots around the rear tire. So if you’re turning next to an object, or backing in somewhere, if you can put that inside rear tire where you want it, you can control where it goes. Then remember the outside corner swings wide, and you’re golden.
If you put down wd40 and don’t have to shake it off, it’s a lot easier on the truck. I’ll take an extra 60 seconds on a job, to save myself days of down time when you have to have hydraulics replaced because the wrist pins and cylinders have to be replaced from shaking it harder than necessary.
No neutral release on that car? I would be so worried about cutting my straps on those wheels. We use and 8 point so we don't have to worry. Were you going fishing? Good looking pup. Do you keep a spare key so if he locks you out? 😄 Well done. Looks like I might need to buy a cade ow WD40.
There is, but I’d have to unlock it, and the owner wasn’t there to approve that. When I drove that truck I always had my dog and the fishing rod. Lol I did have a spare lol
When you get cars like that you're doing right now where you got front wheel drives in or any kind of car that you got like that and they're hard to get on and off the trailers you're using w240 and you're spraying a trailer use Dawn soap mixed with water and spray the bed down and stuff they'll slide right off every time we do it to the race car trailers and stuff and they slide right off really good for you
I always have WD40 on the truck and also soapy water, but my jug is broke. If you go back a few videos I have one on shaking a car off the bed with WD40.
All you have to do is PULL your bed back 1 foot to clear your bedlock… then LIFT ALLLLLL THE WAY UP … and slowly let the car slide down with the winch … ive only been driving for a year
Wd40😂n expensive way to shake a unit off ....Tip my bratha get chu A spray bottle buy some Dawn SOAP MIX IT UP and BOOM alot cheaper PLUS goes along way 😅😂😅😂😮

Good for you bringing Stitch along for your rides....Gotta love those small dogs!!!

Hay Dustin I hope you’re having a wonderful day and that you’re safe and my god bless you and your wife
Thank you!!
Stitch is so cute! Take of y'all selves out there on the road.
Thank You!
Unfortunately he doesn’t ride with me much anymore but he loves it.
I’m new to this job in the UK so good to see how you guys in the US do it 👍
Thank You! Glad you’re enjoying the content!

The right approach bed hinges about 4’ from the end of the bed, instead of being a straight bed.
Dawn dish detergent and water works just as well and don’t stay greasy it evaporates and much cheaper
Love your dog. Nice companion. Never heard him complain, or criticize. But that car is a real piece of crap. Really!!!
Much appreciated.
Great job 👏 👍 Here in UK I use washing soap instead of wd40 I guess is cheaper 😅
I use whatever I have on hand. I generally keep a pump up sprayer of soapy water, but if I run out, I’ll use whatever I need to get the job done.
Great Job. Looks like that needed to be hauled to a scrap yard instead of a body shop lol
That's just the first step. I just had a minivan towed to Caliber by my insurance company a couple weeks ago. It's at a scrap yard now.

What's your dog's name
curious to know why you don't use the 8 point tie down method
We use to have a no key no service policy at the company I use to work for
Hi just wondering what camera are you using? I love your videos.
Most of my videos were filmed on a GoPro Hero 11 Mini, but I have since upgraded to a Hero 12.
How exactly are you using the sting of the truck to push it, can we get a video about that? Is your landing gear not on the ground? and the truck in neutral? how u do that?
Do tires usually get damaged if you don't put skates under and nice method keep the oil on hand
No, you’re not dragging it far enough or fast enough for any damage to occur. the tire would have to already be damaged, for anything to happen really.
@@Towtruck_Dustin Awesome great job thanks for the info
No tires don't get damaged just dragging them a few feet up onto the bed.
What if you were picking up a vehicle that had a fuel leak? What advice could you give about the proper way to handle it.

I prefer using dish soap on the bed with a little water added . Works great and cheaper than wd40
Question for you why do you have to clean up debris and not the city❤❤
Because it’s our job to clear the road.
If we left it for someone else to do, it would never get done.

@@Towtruck_Dustin I appreciate it lots man, stay safe
If you have instagram, hit me up and send a DM with whatever questions you have
What are you using for recording equipment?
So why did you not use skates? Aren’t you gonna be wrecking there parking pin and diffs we don’t do that
It won’t hurt anything. Skates very rarely ever work, or help anyway.
Lift that deck for a steeper angle and you can skip the whole WD-40 step. Shake that sucker off and you’re onto the next vehicle. Time is money
Guess you got a point on that one haha. I enjoy watching your videos, making these calls look easy

You could have done a lock out on it and then shift lock override 😊
Could have. But I wasn’t getting payed for it, and I didn’t have the customer’s permission to do so. They called for a tow. So I towed it.
great way to unload it..
Almost like it was in neutral lol
❤❤hellow Stich
How to do if a low car??
If you go a few months back into my video library, I loaded a C5 Corvette, not super low, but low enough to have to use some precaution.
I like to reverse a snatch block at the end of the bed when taking the car off. But the ol wd40 works just as good to shake em off
Too much work and it won’t get the vehicle all the way off. Easier to give it a few good shakes and let it slide off.
Fold in them mirrors when your towing a car ass end first. 😦😒👌👍
You have tow truck bubby
All you have to do is PULL your bed back 1 foot to clear your bedlock… then LIFT ALLLLLL THE WAY UP … and slowly let the car slide down with the winch … ive only been driving for a year
And then what? The bed won’t even be on the ground at point 😂 just take a little more time and do it the right way.
I think if you unlock the door it's easy to put the car in neutral
I guess you missed the parts of the video, where I said the customer didn’t leave the keys. Lol
@@Towtruck_Dustin You don't have the tools to unlock the car?
I do. But I’m not getting payed to unlock it, and the customer didn’t request an unlock. So the car is getting drug lol
