you forgot 8:59 the vanilla enhancement mod
Thanks for putting my mod in the list :)
I'd certainly not recommend Aristeia for those who have potatoe of a computer, since it has one of the most unoptimized models among all Rome Total War mods available. Even RS2 models are less CPU-heavy. For a weak PC, the best mod possible is definitely Extended Cultures V. Not only all units have LODs and sprites there, but even vegetation is reworked and in the end it is more optimized than even the vanilla set.
Of course - it's a great mod! Interesting - I've never had any issues with Aristeia's performance personally, so I didn't consider that. Good to know. Perhaps when I have time for an in-depth review of Extended Cultures, I'll mention the performance boost.
@@3345irock thank you for the feedback! Most of the units you see in custom battle menu are actually regional ones (auxilia), the main core of the army is usually small. Though I'm working to improve this aspect of the mod.
Barbarian empires is my favourite rtw mod. Hope it gets more popular. In fact I’d like to note, the vanilla enhancement mod is a good mod but the provincial campaigns on barbarian empires include a standard vanilla campaign and one with more settlements which in my opinion is a lot better than vanilla enhancement.
@@alexanderthegreat1356 thank you very much for your kind words. Hellenistic Legacy will soon receive a patch, we are working hard on it. Stay tuned for the updates!
Rome total war is the reason you are a historian? That's a brilliant story. Thanks for this well worded and clear video, I haven't played this game in 10 years and I am looking forward to trying out one of these mods.. I am thinking Barbarorum
Dude, the begining of history is a great idea for a submod. I would totally back it!
Nice :)
Roma Surrectum II (III) is imo the greatest Roman Time Frame mod ever made. It's a complete masterpiece and checks all the boxes, historical accuracy, immersion, player options/ features, difficulty, lore, graphics.
It took a very basic (to say the least) Vanilla RTW and turned it into a completely new game. It's not even Rome I, it' s between Rome I and Rome II imo, let's call it Rome 1.5 - the graphics are that good.
It truly makes it a whole new game, especially in regards to the graphics and mechanics.
It Truly is the best. One thing though is no reforms for other nations then Rome. All units from the start is something i don't like.
but only works when it wants to, lol
Thank you so much for this video. I'm a total EB stan, I had no idea they updated it 😃
You're welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Game from 2004 and mod scene is as active as ever. I'm really looking forward to atla mod. Thanks for letting me know about all this different invasio barbarorums. I only knew bout somnium apostate juliani lol Great channel great content
You're welcome! Glad I could help. Thanks for the comment! :)
nice presentation style, nice video editing and voice, topic I'm interested in, why am I not subscribed to you yet!
Thank you! Welcome!
Awesome video! I would never know about these mods
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Which mod were you most interested in?
@@GudeaTW I should check all of them, but in first place I will download Barbarian Empires- Hellenistic legacy, cause I saw Kingdom of Epirus and I have huge hype with Pyrrhus recently. Of course ATLA mod which I was searching for month ago but found only dead one for medieval2.
@@tymcio11 Yeah Barbarian Empires has a great style for sure, and its inclusion of Epirus is very nice (I like Epirus a lot as well). The ATLA mod is not out quite yet.
I know you've already done two videos on RTW mods but I have to fly the flag for the SPQR mod. It's the most brutal and attritional mod I've played for this game. Battles last 20+ minutes and every bit of territory the A.I. will fight you for every inch. I don't expect you to make another video on this topic but please give this mod a go if you love long, sustained battles!
Hi RLuke, I definitely remember how popular the SPQR mod was back in the day! Unfortunately it was never a mod that really fit my playstyle and I don't really like it when battles take forever (like EB2 siege battles), but I might feature it at some point since I know a lot of people like those types of battles and SPQR was definitely THE mod for that sort of player.
The bronze age certainly deserves more attention. A few years ago in was working on an animated series about canaan and Egypt in the bronze age, all in original ancient language. I think you might want to check it out
Nice! Sounds very cool indeed
@@GudeaTW lately have been working on a mythological series about the Baal cycle
Great list 👍
Thanks!
I would love to see sumerian era of bronze age that would be awesome.
Will definitely see if it's possible. Would just need to edit the unit rosters, and the map can just be an edited version of the Bronze Age main campaign map... we'll see!
@@GudeaTW and also do you have a discord? If not you definitely should have one it will be fun
@@Abzerkisa I don't have a server yet, I feel as though I should get a bigger community on the channel before doing that, but perhaps I'm wrong!
@@GudeaTW Oh cool when you decide to open a Server let us know about that :)
@@Abzerkisa Sure thing
Oh boy, glad I found this one. May I suggest some other mods? Ran no Jidai, Paeninsula Italica, Iberia total war and bonus, rise of the 3 kingdoms for m2!
I will be taking a look at Ran no Jidai soon!
No Fourth Age: Total War? :| considering the detail, the challenge, the graphics and the fact that it's done? Glad to see RESTITVTOR ORBIS there though, actuall playing an Aurelian-campaign as I'm watching this :) I also suggest the same modder's (Julian's) mod SAI (SOMNIVM APOSTATAE IVLIANI). Thanks for the video!
Hi Lord Revan, I covered Fourth Age in my Top Five RTW mods to revisit in 2020 video prior to making this video, so I definitely do recommend it highly. I will do another video about it sometime soon - it's my favorite Lotr total war mod of all time.
I'd definitely try that 2400 BC mod, and even offer my services, but, better yet, why not just make that for Rome II as a sort of spiritual successor to the Bronze Age mod? There's a LOT of potential there. On top of that, I would jump balls deep into a campaign like that.
The reason I propose that is because Rome II would allow a better representation of the tribes of the time, but, also, offers a lot of solid features that would make such a mod one of the most mind blowing total war experiences ever.
Maybe add a Shogun 2 mod in the Stone Age, but instead of accurately representing it, going full 80s sci-fi? Turn revolver cavalry into lazer pistol, Unga Bunga Stick wielding, velociraptor riding knuckle draggers? Sounds like a blast to me.
I have no idea why, but the other day I was nostalgic for Rome Total War 1 and I reinstalled it, looking around RUclips, I had no idea that the game was getting new mods this recent.
Yes definitely, the community is still very active! I even have a video up with a link to the still active Rome total war community discord that has many mods in development
And there was poor old me, thinking that I was the only Wargamer who disliked Rome 2, and still played the original version ! The graphics in Rome 2 are obviously superior in every way, but the game itself.....???
recently open for self a barbarian empire mod. Im pretty like how this mod expand vanilla gameplay.
Yes Barbarian Empires is a great mod if you want to keep the vanilla feel of the game. I'll do more videos about it sometime soon!
What do you think about the Rome Total War Randomizer? So far Melkor is the only one I can find who has done a video on it.
(Also, I can't actually get into a battle and want to see if other people are having issues.)
I'll take a look at it
Great to see another RUclipsr pushing through RTW content. I really wish I could play RTW these days, but it lags so badly on my laptop it is borderline unplayable :( I also hate how poor the diplomacy is, when you compare it to something like Stainless Steel, where alliances actually mean something!
Hi scottish baker, thanks! If your rtw is lagging, look up the d3d8 dll file fix and it should solve your issue for the most part.
@@GudeaTW Thanks - I'll have to check that out this evening and I'll let you know if it helps. I was just watching your EB2 review vid as well, might have to give that a go as well!
For EB 2, you'll definitely need to enable med 2 to use 4gb ram. That fix also helps rtw, so give that a try for both of them
The dll fix for RTW will definitely help if you're running windows 10, no doubt
@@GudeaTW Thanks for this. Would you maybe consider doing a video on how to improve performance of RTW on a modern set-up, with links to what you need to download and what you need to do, etc.?
Since rome total war isn't any longer available in online stores and it will take some time until there are bigger mods available in the remaster, can you do an extended list like this for medieval total war?
I'm thinking of making one - perhaps after the release of the remaster
@@GudeaTWI appreciate that and maybe that gives the SSHIP mod enough time for some fixes ^^
hey buddy appreciate your work and hello,i have a issue on aristeia tw and i want to ask you,i downloaded epic cycle and succesfuly setup the mod but whenever i fight someone in battle map the game closed with no errors in 2 minutes i tried it different campaigns of aristeia but its not changed,do you have any idea whats the solution?
Hmm Aristeia is a pretty heavy mod. You might need to enable rtw to utilize 4GB ram (instead of the usual 2). Look up the medieval 2 4GB patch - it works for RTW as well!
@@GudeaTW thx for reply, how can i utilize 4gb ram,is this only enable with this patch?
which mod is the best?
Great video but please, next time include more gameplay footage
Sure, I'll make sure to include more gameplay footage in the next one
Hey I dont know if you still look at mods but I'm getting so desperate. Why is Roma Surrectum III so damn hard to get installed? Ove gotten so close to success but then have to reinstall both RTW and Roma Surrectum
It's tough because RS is not modfoldered like most other mods. That's why it's such a problem... I might revisit the issue of RS on steam at some point
If you check the RS subforum on TWC there might be some people who can help with that issue.
I support your mod idea
Which one?
@@GudeaTW for a bronze age submod in a previous era. BTW this video is a bit old, have you made it?
Can help me with the link for patch 1.3? My patch 1.3 dont do effect on my game, so i can't upgrade to 1.5 for mods
Hmm haven't heard of such a problem. Right now I'm using Steam - don't have my discs with me. Perhaps try this one? download.cnet.com/Rome-Total-War-v1-3-patch/3000-7483_4-10449416.html
@@GudeaTW My game say is on 1.5, i can play custom battles, BUT, when i go to start a campaign, crash the game. So, i don't understeand why i cant play that mode.
That is strange.. are you on windows 10? Have you tried reinstalling?
@@GudeaTW 4 times. Maybe is the crack version? I use the crack from gamefront 1.5
Subbed👍
Thank yoU!
@@GudeaTW Will you do a Roma surrectum 3.1review someday? Show of the custom cities and stuff😉
@@justkris6461 yes I definitely will!
Please make a video about how to Improve performance of total war Rome 1 on modern computers..
I tried directx8 dll but the game seems to be stuck at 30 FPS max
It won't go much higher than that
Хотелось бы увидеть моды на новые фракции :)
vanilla enhancement mod is for alexander ?
Yes
i'm confused as to where i'm suppose to download when it comes to using your links, you link to the forums of a mod with no download button in plain sight, the websites design is not your fault but i seek help nontheless.
Yes a lot of them are hosted on the old forum rather than moddb
@@GudeaTW i ended up doing a browser search instead and leading myself to the moddb page.
i appreciate that you still respond to comments in your old videos, it makes your channel feel alive and prevents your videos from feeling lost to time.
5:10 i see that now there are 21 factions , right?
Invasio Barbarorum: Ruina Romae and Invasio Barbarorum: Restitutor Orbis download links are hard to find. I can not find them, any one have them?
Check moddb, there are reuploads
Can't find Resyitutor Orbis@@GudeaTW
I’d love a Bronze Age mod expansion
Definitely!
Darthmode is so Good in tw games
i like m2tw more then first rome. maybe because its basically the same engine, just next iteration. sadly they have removed that engine with Empire total war
You should have added the warhammer Mod.
Ahh the one for RTW? I have BOTET for Med 2 downloaded but not the one for RTW, will take a look at it eventually then.
You forget Age of knights and prophets
Hi Miss Invisible, will put it on the list.
Gudea TW thanks because its only the one mod about Charlemagne or rise of Islam periods for rome1
@@missinvisible9660 thanks for the info, I do like that period so I will take a look at it.
@@GudeaTW www.moddb.com/mods/age-of-knights-and-prophets
@@missinvisible9660 got it thank you!
Am the only one who thinks that a lot of Rome I mods like EB, RTR, RS etc effectively all try to do the same thing but in a different way?
I'd say EB is more slow paced than all of them and is wayy more historically accurate. RS I'd say has a bigger focus on the battles. RTR is sort of in between. but it depends on which RTR you're talking about.
Where the hell is Diadochi Total War , are you insane sir ?
Hi taskout. That was a mod I never had the chance to try out. I'll be sure to put it on my list. Thanks!
Where is darthmode bro it is very nice as well
Never tried Darthmod for RTW, but I'll look into it.
bronze age is amazing, fear the sea people
Indeed! I should stream this mod soon...
darth mod was the best
Hmm never played darthmod Rome. Any reason you prefer it over mods like RTR or RS2 or EB?
Tryed to install Surrectum and Vanilla Enhancement Mod on Steam, Win10. If you regular Johny dont waste your time - just to hard to install.
Wasted 4 hours to find instructions and files. After doing everything step by step game dont start. Wasted time. This is free, ergo works only on small group of computers.
Hi Zwierz, Roma Surrectum has a lot of trouble working with Steam, this is a known issue, but Vanilla Enhancement should work just fine (I'm running it on Steam and Win 10). I will be making a tutorial video on installing RTW mods with Steam and Win 10, so stay tuned for that.
The graphics in Aristeia look awful to me. The land is a washed out purple color and the the sea is a dirty green & yellow.
Is there something up with my eyes or what?
Now do 2023
Want to do that
