Love these Vids, keep them coming!!! Favourite coaches in the world , Drew & Taylor, honestly man thank you these things help me elevate my game soooooo much.
Amazing videos, keep up the good work !!! Don't know if there is already video about it, but something about pull up jumpers and its details/tips could be useful.
Could you direct me to a video which explains the proper mechanics to shoot a basketball like an NBA player. I have trouble with getting that on dot. Thanks :)
I have a question for any of y’all willing to help. I’m a 6’5 post who is skinny and because of my build type it seems in the future I’ll be transferring my position to that of a small forward that plays on the wings. Do any of you guys have tips on the type of diet, workout, and drills I’d need to incorporate in order to play this position well?
practise your drills as if your in a game. like do it in a fast motion. this way games will feel like only practise. also, believe you're a beast and everybody else is trash at the game
Should u use the same arm power on every shot no matter the distance or should u change the arm power as well as the added leg power when shooting from deep . Someone please HELP?!!!
You have to adjust the amount of power you expend in your shot depending on the distance from the goal, balance, and direction you're taking the shot from. Your legs should usually be involved in every shot unless you're tall enough to just drop the ball in the goal. - Joe @ TeamEGT
While I agree not to "twist and turn," I think you should get your hip turned more towards the rim and not be so square. To me that's more natural and I get so much more power with that steph curry type of range.
kobykat1 faster release off a pull up as well since your shooting hand/elbow is already lined up with the rim. stance is all personal preference. look at Kevin Martin for fuck sakes lol. Great video with applicable real world knowledge 💪👊
Fully agree about the hip turn. Yes, you don't want release across your body, but a proper hip turn can generate power. I personally believe that being 10 toes to the basket will compromise power and will thus cause the body to manufacture the power with a crossing release that he is talking about. Besides, if I had to guess he missed his final shot. The shot looked tight and his comment, "Try to make it" doesn't sound confident.
i dont know,, but i believe in the zone .. with correct shooting form , it makes your shot consistent and accurate but when you shoot improperly it makes your shot inconsistent but when you find the rhythm its unguardable because you dont need the proper form to shoot accurately ,, and that will destroy opponents emotionally .. but overall statistics wont lie... it is better shot with a proper form...
Could you ask Drew? Sounds super interesting and actually runs counter to what you hear a lot of people currently talking about (the turn/twist). Thanks!
Don't shoot 3's - stay inside or close to the key and work on the fundamentals of your shot, over and over and over until you're making 85% of your shots. And then slowly move back, but still NO 3's. This could take months. If you're serious about your shot this is the process. - Joe @ TeamEGT
Is it me or the background music way too loud. I can barely hear you talk. As an instructional video, I don't need to hear any music at all in the background. It's distracting. Very good video though. Thanks. Keep that elbow tucked in.
I actually like the background music it gets me more immersed in wat hes saying it would be too bland to just here him talk. It adds more quality, but u could turn it down a bit tho
@@tommyboehner Exact same man! I'm in 5th grade and when I play with my cousins, I'm the best shooter. When I go to basketball training, I play with 18 year olds and I'm probably the 2nd best in the session.
This was my response not directed for younger kid that needs to get improve limit absolute maximum strength and more muscle but for someone older that got stronger, is for sure more than strong enough to shoot outside shots easily, but struggles to shoot from more than a few feet from basket even though has good form that would be good for very long distance shooting. going back to topic of that continuum of types of work from maximum strength to strength-speed to speed-strength to speed aka maximum velocity ( speed aka maximum velocity examples would be like in a sprint max flying 10m sprint or a wiffle ball/balloon throw/pass for maximum distance). This was my response to someone about increasing distance can easily, comfortably, and accurately (make about all the shots that take) shoot a basketball: do some RFD, rate of force development, training for example practice passing including 1 hand push passes with very light object like a balloon, very very light ball, etc. Think of the famous wiffle ball (Zatsiorsky - Science and Practice of Strength Training) example that is compared to distance can throw a regular baseball and also Bondarchuk's shot put/hammer throwers using different weight shot puts, etc. including light ones. But just for something like basketball don't use the actually shooting with lightened loads (it will mess up the shot and accuracy of shots i.e. not make the long distance shots even if could improve how far can shoot the shooting percentage will go way down) instead do a more general movement like the chest pass and 1 hand push chest pass that mostly starts from a pause just in front of the body before the pass / throw then work on the maximum distance personal records for that. (This will only work if everything else is already good enough to be able to shoot long distance shots with good form - meaning the basic shooting form looks like it can work well for longer distance shooting, Range of Motion (ROM) of shoulders, etc. is good (able to move shooting arm/elbow all the way up, etc.), absolute limit strength is good enough, power (strength-speed, etc.) and explosive exercises are good enough, etc. This works much much faster than just taking a lot of shots.
Room for error just means that you can make a mistake and not necessarily have a bad result. No room for error means that any mistake will create a bad result.
The problem is arching the back too much in that example of using "back power". He's saying you should push the hips back, but keeping the back flatter so the arch is just like it would be if you were standing straight up with good posture. It's hard to explain the difference in a brief message, but I hope that helps.
I AM OVER 70 BUT STILL FOLLOWING UR BASKETBALL TECHNICAL ASPECT AND ENJOYING IT.
Hey Coach whats the title of the background music? I'd like to have when Im training it pumps me up.

Erik Geroy Shut up
elhadji diop wtf relax
I would suggest calisthenics to increase your strength.
Yes yes that jump forward when shooting. Jordan clarkson does that a lot. I guess you taught him
Thanks.

how do u become more confidence during games?
practise your drills as if your in a game. like do it in a fast motion. this way games will feel like only practise. also, believe you're a beast and everybody else is trash at the game
I’m thinking about trying out on a school team next year but I’ve never been on a team before, is it to late for me
Not too late if you start putting in the work and developing your game.

kobykat1 if you're straight up your elbows aren't align to the basket... that's why you turn, so the elbow points to the basket

Did that study ever come out? (About not twisting your body)
Not sure.

I'll see him in July and I'll ask him then.

Jo Kang Su they're talking about in the air turn not feet turn on shot
Coach I am 15 years old and am somewhat strong but can't shoot threes and miss short what should I do
Stay in the range where your form maintains integrity.

rambosexy2009 I know I passed grade 2. Plus you might want to tell me who you are
+ uzair ahmed, don't worry about anymore comments from that person, they have been reported.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
What's the name of the song in the background?
Not sure. Our video team uses royalty free music.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
How close is he to the basket for the first drill?
Pretty much right on it -- two or three feet away.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
What are the sets and reps for all three shots?
That's up to you, man. No one size fits all for certain drills, all depends on your game.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
So do we turn our hips and shoulders to the basket or not?
Turn it adds more power when u shoot
Forget about getting a D-1 or the NBA!!! Kids watching this (Im 32) need to strive to become a superstar on all levels!!
How can you release the ball perfectly?
A ton of shots over time.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
Please teach me how to get Steph Curry range.
sir when l shoot 3 point most of the time ball do not go or not touch the rim

When i shoot threes it's always airball
Look at trae young from logo low chin release point and elbow at nose level
is 6 foot without shoes too short for point guard ?
It's not too short, you're "undersized" but you can still make it happen at 6 foot.
- Joe @ TeamEGT
3:03 4:33
I try logo shots...sometimes i hit 4-5 in a row, and then miss the same 4-5
1:52
Thanks fortnite dude
at 3:34 it looks as though he has a chicken wing going into his shot. i know that this guy is a expert, but should we have a chicken wing in our shot?
i score more half courts than fromt he 3 point line :/

Very good video though. Thanks. Keep that elbow tucked in.

EGTBasketball played ball with high school cousins I'm in 5th grade and I was the best shooter there

Where do I put my fingers in the basket to get my elbow above my eyebrow?

Also squaring up is wrong look at best shooters like stephen curry he tilts
I don’t think he understands what “room for error” means, you do not want more room for error
No he’s saying room for air
Room for error just means that you can make a mistake and not necessarily have a bad result. No room for error means that any mistake will create a bad result.
Lower base:Klay upper base:curry
You guys are a big help keep makin vids

At 2:50 I'm having a hard time understanding what you mean by "all backpower". It looks to me like you're just loading your hips.
The problem is arching the back too much in that example of using "back power".
