    Beautiful day!
There’s some big sand bass on the sewer pipes off the left side of the jetty. Need a boat to get over the pipes, but Jig head and a 4” plastic anchovy pattern cast off the left side can be productive, especially at gray light dawn or dusk

When I fish on the jetty, I like to use a high-low rig or just a single dropper rig with some shrimp then cast it close to the rocks. Size 6 is my go-to hook since it's good for a lot of surfperch and croakers, as well as potential bigger fish like calicos c: When you're casting close to the base of the rocks (like 5-10 feet from them), I tend to not let it linger for too long, maybe 30 seconds to 1-minute max while keeping an eye on the waves and where my rig is positioned. There's usually plenty of structure so plenty of fish, if you don't get a bite quick then fan cast around until you find a honey hole of them :D If it's too close to the rocks I'll recast too, otherwise, the constant waves will keep pushing your rig into the rock and it will get stuck lolol. 2 oz torpedo is what I would recommend as minimum weight, you can go lighter or heavier if you want but it has to be torpedos since they're slender enough to get through the rocks, or any other shape that won't get stuck as easily. Pier Life Fisherman likes to use bobber rigs when he's fishing in the same rocky area types, the same way Opaleye anglers like to use the Iso rig c:

@@KimmyGoesFishing np c: the beauty of fishing is that there are so many different ways to approach it so whatever way you want to fish is up to you. I mainly fish bait and wait so that's what I prefer, but I know swimbaits and jigs out there could land you so more interesting fish like barracuda or other basses. Another fun bait are green peas, you'll get some nice Opaleyes from it :D close to the rocks, they like hitting the green peas more on the iso or bobber rig though haha

@@SvenGoesFishing I might try the green peas I’ve heard those are good for catching opal eye out there

I’ve caught opaleye off Dana Point harbor several times. Good luck out there.

Personally, I find it satisfying to catch something I don't touch, unless it's halibut.
