Jesus, I didnt know that prize figures were that expensive in the west. I live in Japan and they range from 1500 yen to 3500 yen (which is roughly $15 to $35) on retail. Thats a shame.
1:30 I’m really grateful for people like you who make videos like this because I’ve been really wanting to start collecting figures or at least I’ve always seen figures I loved of chatacyers I loved that I wish to have the whole set lol. Informative videos like this about this hobby has been a great help recently, even though I haven’t bought anything I’d consider an anime figure of any sorts since I was 14 (23 now). I’m sure all this info will be very helpful to me in the near future
Sebastian Sean Crow your kind words are too much. Thank you for watching and I’m glad I could help. If you have any questions feel free to reach out :)
I’ve recently gotten into figure collecting last year and currently own five! I’m only a teen so all my figures come from Banpresto but I gotta say I really love their figures above all else not only for the decent prices but also the way they look
this video helped a lot, i had no clue where to start in terms of quality of makers. thanks so much and i would love to see more on figures in the future from you!
Awesome video it really does help for those who are just starting to collect. Additionally I was wondering if you might cover the topic of bootleg figures and give others advice on how to spot them, since the fake ones may look legit (and their packaging may look legit also)It would really help others who don't know about this issue and save both money and heartache for them. Keep up the great work!!😆
Asuka Masamune Thank you so much for your feedback, it means a lot! I would love to do a full episode on bootlegs in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later :)
I never thought about the best way's or best prices for figures when I started, I just bought a nendoroid and it was all downhill from there lol. Sadly not having a decent job hinders my ability to go hard into figure collecting. As of now I have 58 figures ranging from mini gacha box figs to 200 dollar plus 1/7 scale pvc's. Glad to see someone like you spreading the gospel of figures.
Gabaro Figglewitts it’s a slippery slope for sure, just sent out a 320$ payment for 1 figure 🙃🙃🙃🙃. happy to help the collecting community in any little way I can 😊
My favorite anime figure company is definitely Goodsmile company, I specifically like the nendoroids the most, I own 4 of them! And I plan on buying more! :D
AMV Studios yes some of the best things I can think of would be to make sure to keep the nendoroids away from sun, keep them in areas that aren’t too hot, I keep mine in a little spot in my closet where I can get to them easily but where they aren’t exposed to sunlight, another tip I can give would be to make sure not to keep your nendoroids in their boxes too long, I heard if you do they can get very sticky due to the plasticizer in the plastic, it’s supposed to make them softer and more flexible, now, another thing I do that I’m not quite sure you have to do, but I still prefer to do, is I remove their parts here or there and put them back on just out of fear they’d get sticky if I didn’t, I guess it might sound ridiculous but it’s just a habit of mine lol, anyway, best tips I can give, I hope they help! :)
@@freddybongwater Omg thank you for replying! I really appreciate the help you gave me I'm so exited to receive my nendorid in the Mail I hope you have a good day ❤️
Great information sharing! I myself started with Nendoroids and is now collecting scaled figure as well. Also have a couple of Figmas and prize figures for characters that I really like. TBH, GSC never fails to dazzle me with their designs. Almost 95% of my figures are made by them or partners. Keep these episodes coming and looking forward for storage option discussions. Storage problem is inevitable especially once you started to own more than 50 figures. :-) if you're into Nendoroids collecting keep in mind that GSC decided to downsize their box sizes in their recent Nendoroid releases, probably from #800 onwards. Don't fret if you got a small box Nendoroids and thinking that they were bootlegs, they were probably due to GSC packaging policy. Cheers!
I’m a bit late here but this was really helpful as I’ve had some scale LL figures for a while and hasn’t even considered maintenance and expanding my collection. Thanks for the help. Oh and I’m not sure what companies to buy from as I have a low budget and mostly want scales.
Spider_Cookie always glad to help! The scale figures by Alter are absolutely gorgeous if you’re looking to expand and those aren’t the ones you already have :)
I recently found out about nendoroids and got into a anime I really love (demon slayer). I live in Canada and found a legit store company (4hrs away from me) that works with Japan. The nendoroids I want is like $90 after tax 😩 am I crazy if I get at least 2? Loool The shipping is kind of oof though not as bad coming from international country. I researched many other sites that sells it good price but I don’t want to deal with crazy shipping $ and duty customs (therefore, probably not worth the risk). Also, Great video! I am not a collector yet, but I would like to start small.
Fyi, you can still pursue your hobby of collecting figures ( like i do ) and still have spare money and not spend that much, not EVEN CLOSE to thousands. Dont get scammed, pursue responsibly

Scales are very expencive, so I have only pre owned ones. That is my way of collecting figures and not spending to much on them, and I highly suggest that and I am also 14 so if someone is young as me, you can buy pre owned ones. And bdw, love your video, new sub! And now I broke, I will make a little pause of collecting in 2019. I will get maximum 2 figures, need them to satisfay my addiction 😂😂😂

I don't know if I should get the last one I don't have that is the Alice. I haven't seen the new season (because I only watch dub versions) of this anime yet and I don't really know this character that well. I don't know what to do on this. I also like other characters from other anime too. Please help and thank you.
Lancelot collecting is a slippery slope. It’s easy to fall into a completionist mindset. Try to only buy figures that you absolutely love is my advice. Even if it completes a set or is a character you really like, if the figure itself doesn’t excite you then skip it. Hope that helps 🙂 P.S. Alice is a cutie
