The only downside of the fake nendoroids is a mediocre paint job, delicate posing, and flimsy additional pieces. The official nendoroids are definitely much better quality but if you don’t want to spend a lot of money the fake ones are still pretty nice!

The feeling that you paid for the original nendo is priceless. Again thanks for this video. Will be waiting for more of your tips. Salute to u man.
The small boxes started from nendo 820 Itachi Uchiha, so far all the nendoroids that follows after him are in a small packaging, even DX versions like Mike and sully of Monster Inc are in small packaging just a bit bigger that the box of itachi . I think Snow miku and nendoroids from Kantai Vollections would be an exception since usually they have lots of extra parts and are to big to fit on the standard small nendo boxes.
I think it was 819 Kato Megumi, but you are right. They also had a style change after nendoroid number 300, to a more cleaner look, mostly white boxes but a few of them have cool base colors too. Also some special editions have mat finish as well.
Got a fake nendoroid for christmas. Absolutely horrible. The parts didn't fit right, pieces that shouldn't fall off, fell off. It came off amazon so i thought i was safe. WRONG. Always pay attention to who you're buying from. Would always recommend buying from the official seller. If it isn't coming from good smile co. themselves then don't waste your money or time. It's more likely than not a fake.
I Have 2 fake figures in my collection one being the sakura miku prize figure. It's pretty cute and the quality isnt terrible for 8 dollars. All my other figures are official and I'm very happy about how I've maintained mostly legit figures
The stickers are a licensor requirement and not necessarily a design feature of the gsc nendo lines packaging. Those stickers are so called authentication sticker. The safest way to avoid bootleg would be buying from a GSC license and partnered shop. You can check the list of Partner Shops of GSC. :)

Hi, i bought it on ebay, my other nendoroid i bought second hand on ebay was legit, wiser i was asking the seller if the doll is legit. (50 euro would be a lot of money for a bootleg)😅The difference in the quality is really clearly visible. And a big sign for a fake is a cheap price like 10/20/30euro. The most nen second hand here are in the range of 50-60euro and more. Sry for my bad english🙈
Hey fair enough. Yes sometimes there are good finds in eBay and sometimes no. No need to be sorry for your English, have you seen my video ? Hahahahaha .. anyways hopefully you didn’t pay too much for the fake one
The biggest giveaway to a fake is the price. When I was just starting I made the Mistake of buying a fake figma because I saw it was $20 versus $90. I didn’t realize at that time that there were fakes until it was too late. Also read the description before you buy, and make sure it explicitly says it’s guaranteed authentic item and not a fake. I’ve been collecting figma and nendoroids for roughly 8 years. The fakes feel super cheap and the colors look so gross
I bought my first Sasuke nendoroid online and on the picture and everything it was legit I bought it and realised it didn't have any parts just the nendoroid no extra arms or anything
I wasted 15 bucks for a Rei Ayanami Evangelion Racing Nendoroid. TOTALLY WORTH IT. Yes, the colors are cheap. The base looks legit. It didn't smell or anything. I'm okay with it. I'm a Detective Conan Fan. I will get the original Nendoroid. This Rei Ayanami was cheap and it's surprisingly good.
I heard somewhere that if the Nendoroid originated from an anime show, it would have the holographic sticker whereas the ones that originated from games don't.
I bought a nendoroid on Amazon, I thought it was true but as soon as it arrived I knew right away that it was fake, I was very upset since I've been waiting for it for a long time, thank you for making this video :')
@@HazelTreeTV hi I’m a little late but I honestly don’t think it’s a good idea to buy from Amazon it’s a big risk and mostly get bad reviews and are afke
Based on your fake itachi, the bootleg still uses the old nendo faceplates where theres a hole beneath the faceplates for the neck connector. :) thats the olde faceplates of nendos before.
Box size isn't too reliable since some nendos that have bigger accessories (like nendo 780 Lillie's hat) have bigger boxes, your other advice is sound though, the best thing to check the box would be watching unboxings.
Im want buy a nendoroid from internet , we dont have shops to buy nendoroid in my country , they can put fake pictures so I just can hope it is not a fake one
@@robindejesus6443 I did but , they are so exspensive , I will probably just wait until I have enough money to buy an original one , $ is so expensive in my coubtry ;^;
you scared me with the logo in the top right tip. i already bought a deku from ebay and i checked the box compared to a real one, and it was actually authentic. phew.
I got a Yukino Yukinoshita recently and while there is no plastic smell out of box, I kept her in a small glass case and when I had to pack her away after about a month, she smelled strong of ABS, so idk if smell is a factor
Thanks you dude. I have bought 3 presents/gifts to one of my best friends because her birthday, two nendoroids of Sora and Riku, and a the black keyblade for hold in her room. Riku arrived very sooner, and I bought figmas before, I remember that the fake one, Jeanne D'Arc smelled too hard and was certainly damaged, but compared to the original figmas, they didnt smell at all. When I got riku, the first box, had japanese words, but when I saw the box, there wasnt any sticker, but the logo, and there are two stickers one with japanese words and a code, and another one with japanese and chinese words, I opened it and it smell too much as plastic so i thougth it was fake, specially, because in the box, his skin was kida "warm" and the real one seems something similar but a bit more yellow, I was like "NO WAY, I WASTED MONEY ON A FAKE ONE, NOOOOOOOOOOOO" Then, I saw your video, I saw that his skin was the same colour than your original itachi, and the parts were easy and soft to remove and put, also there are smiling symbols. Fucking photoshop filters, for those who have a nice eye to the colours that is a trap.
_I have two fake nendoroids (one looks exactly as the real one and the other is a bit problematic). I wanna buy real nendoroids, but my parents won't allow me. They said that it's a waste of money ;-;_
When you have a job you can buy anything you want. :) just like me, since my working i got the chance to buy things that I cant when I was younger. I came from an average type of family so growing up I dont have a lot of toys, I dont have the chance to buy any clothes that I want. So now that im working, im doing everything that makes me happy like collecting nendoroids. Maybe the reason why my parent doesnt mind me having a lot of nendos at home is because I did not forgot my obligation to them as well. :) collecting nendoroid is an investment because you also need to buy display cabinets that would fit your growing collections. :)
so... let me get this straight. to get them right - first i need to buy the real one. then and only then I am able to notice those tiny details like skin tone, glosy/mat and so on. So next time when I am buying the same figurine... wait - WHAT?
Well I made this guide based on my experience. The way I see it is that when I was looking at guides on how to distinguish a fake and a real Nendoroid , it did give me an insight but was not really enough thus why I am suggesting to get a real Nendoroid from the partnered shop because experiencing it first hand will definitely give you more knowledge rather than watching videos about it. Not only you gain more knowledge as well but you also get to support your local sellers :)
Usually you're safe as long as you buy from GoodSmile or their partners like Amiami, Tokyo Otaku Mode and resellers like Mandarake. But if you use eBay or Amazon you can get your money back if the seller claims the fake is original.
Tbh would like it if you did name drop the website so we can spread awareness that they sell fakes (and a lot at that). I understand trying to protect their business or save publicity but if they're selling bootlegs then people should know not to support them.
huh honestly this fake doesn't look all that bad? (most bootlegs I've seen are atrocious) wouldn't pay full price for it of course but tbh? if someone was selling it for like $10-$15 I'd buy it, knowing it was fake it's still cute (and better than a funko pop)
Robin: pause the video and see if you can tell which ones real Nendoroid collectors: instantly identifies real nendo and proceeded to pick apart every flaw of the bootleg till it has no confidence left

(50 euro would be a lot of money for a bootleg)😅The difference in the quality is really clearly visible. And a big sign for a fake is a cheap price like 10/20/30euro. The most nen second hand here are in the range of 50-60euro and more. Sry for my bad english🙈
@@robindejesus6443 your video was very helpful, thanks.
The fakes feel super cheap and the colors look so gross
thank you very much! i almost bought a bootleg. You're video is very useful!
Yoosung Kim thanks mate
I bought my first Sasuke nendoroid online and on the picture and everything it was legit I bought it and realised it didn't have any parts just the nendoroid no extra arms or anything
I wasted 15 bucks for a Rei Ayanami Evangelion Racing Nendoroid. TOTALLY WORTH IT. Yes, the colors are cheap. The base looks legit. It didn't smell or anything. I'm okay with it. I'm a Detective Conan Fan. I will get the original Nendoroid. This Rei Ayanami was cheap and it's surprisingly good.
Principe Yuu hey be positive you will never know :))))
@@robindejesus6443 Thank you!! for all the information!!. I even check an Emilia Birthday (Thank god she's legit)
I just bought my first Nendoroid (#1144 Hyakkimaru) from Amazon. I paid $150 so I was terrified that I'd been scammed but he's real!! I'm so glad 😭
I knew something was off when i saw the chuuya nendoroid , but i still bought it anyway and now i regret it- the box print is obviously badly done
I dont really care about fake and original, since im just going to pose it and put on the shelf
I heard somewhere that if the Nendoroid originated from an anime show, it would have the holographic sticker whereas the ones that originated from games don't.
maybe the stickers are for serial for example the naruto have the golden one im just telling what i think
Since its my first time getting a nendoroid I opted to buy an authentic nendoroid (Giyu Tomioka ) and a plus one, since Izumi Miyamura is on sale 😅👍
I have no issues buying fakes as long as they look similar to the real ones. These things are ridiculously overpriced in my opinion.
Steven bassett Yeah, I see no differences between them
@@aperson6415 the difference is the facr that FAKES DO NOT SUPPORT THE ORIGINAL SCULPTORS
I bought a nendoroid on Amazon, I thought it was true but as soon as it arrived I knew right away that it was fake, I was very upset since I've been waiting for it for a long time, thank you for making this video :')
Which one? I got harry potter and im super worried its fake :(
@@HazelTreeTV hi I’m a little late but I honestly don’t think it’s a good idea to buy from Amazon it’s a big risk and mostly get bad reviews and are afke
@@HazelTreeTV Fake ***^
Based on your fake itachi, the bootleg still uses the old nendo faceplates where theres a hole beneath the faceplates for the neck connector. :) thats the olde faceplates of nendos before.
Fake ones actually doesn’t look too bad.
Box size isn't too reliable since some nendos that have bigger accessories (like nendo 780 Lillie's hat) have bigger boxes, your other advice is sound though, the best thing to check the box would be watching unboxings.
Thanks for the info 15:59, now I know where will I buy my 1st nendroid here in PH
redmonstershop is also a good physical/online shop based on ph that sells real nendoroids
@kashew keyomeatsew yeah,,, hubbyte has cheaper prices for nendoroids oo
Im want buy a nendoroid from internet , we dont have shops to buy nendoroid in my country , they can put fake pictures so I just can hope it is not a fake one
Galaxy Jessie check the good smile website for authorise online seller. You might be able to find one that delivers to your country :)
@@robindejesus6443 I did but , they are so exspensive , I will probably just wait until I have enough money to buy an original one , $ is so expensive in my coubtry ;^;
@@robindejesus6443 thanks for the advice
Galaxy Jessie it will be worth the wait!!
@@robindejesus6443 yes , thanks for the good advice :)
Has anyone bought from Crunchyroll? I’m debating whether to buy a nendoroid from them
An easy way to know is that the hair is air brushed if it’s not it’s a fake
you scared me with the logo in the top right tip. i already bought a deku from ebay and i checked the box compared to a real one, and it was actually authentic. phew.
ちなみにホログラムステッカーは、レーシングミクをスポンサー権限取得で直接出荷された場合は付いてなかったよ
I bought 5 nendo, but no one has that sticker but they all have goodsmile logo 🤔
There’s this $25 nendoroid on eBay and I wanna buy it even tho Ik it’s fake-
I got a Yukino Yukinoshita recently and while there is no plastic smell out of box, I kept her in a small glass case and when I had to pack her away after about a month, she smelled strong of ABS, so idk if smell is a factor
Ig i got a fake sasuke one-
Thanks you dude.
When I got riku, the first box, had japanese words, but when I saw the box, there wasnt any sticker, but the logo, and there are two stickers one with japanese words and a code, and another one with japanese and chinese words, I opened it and it smell too much as plastic so i thougth it was fake, specially, because in the box, his skin was kida "warm" and the real one seems something similar but a bit more yellow, I was like "NO WAY, I WASTED MONEY ON A FAKE ONE, NOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Then, I saw your video, I saw that his skin was the same colour than your original itachi, and the parts were easy and soft to remove and put, also there are smiling symbols. Fucking photoshop filters, for those who have a nice eye to the colours that is a trap.
How much are the real ones?
_I have two fake nendoroids (one looks exactly as the real one and the other is a bit problematic). I wanna buy real nendoroids, but my parents won't allow me. They said that it's a waste of money ;-;_
That’s a you problem dude.
Killergill 02 _boi, I'm not even old enough to have a job. It's illegal in my country_
Killergill 02 _I have decided to not buy the real nendoroids. I'll rather have good quality bootleg_
Killergill 02 _Ye_
Basically
Tbh would like it if you did name drop the website so we can spread awareness that they sell fakes (and a lot at that). I understand trying to protect their business or save publicity but if they're selling bootlegs then people should know not to support them.
Oh damnit so I did buy a bootleg Kakashi...whatever..
Thanks for the video super helpful!!
huh
honestly this fake doesn't look all that bad? (most bootlegs I've seen are atrocious)
wouldn't pay full price for it of course but
tbh? if someone was selling it for like $10-$15 I'd buy it, knowing it was fake
it's still cute (and better than a funko pop)
I know is sticker blue is common and sticker silver is rare and sticker gold is Ultrarare! But i come for Viet Nam but i can speak a little English
When my mom forbids me to buy it because It's too expensive🙃
Fake one usually has box damages
Incredible video, I have the original one and was watching and comparing, yes I have some trust issues AHAHAHA
Also the fake one looks better than the real one
yeah basically
basically that's the same but hmmmmmm basically look at he's hair
Didn’t a nendroid of itachi and out in 2017? Isn’t this like the remake of the figure
Aaah nooo so i have fake Ciel Phantomhive... My box have a logo but its ,,GOOD SNLL COMBANY,, damn it cost the same amount of money tho
Robin: pause the video and see if you can tell which ones real
Nendoroid collectors: instantly identifies real nendo and proceeded to pick apart every flaw of the bootleg till it has no confidence left
so apperantly i got a fake shoto, bakugou, levi, whatever LMAO they came with everything so i got lucky somehow
Robin are you Filipino? Filipino Nendoroid collector also here. Very Informative video. Thank you 😁
AgentJames007 I am actually ha ha born and raise but living in Aus now
Robin De Jesus nice to hear about that Robin. Do you have an Instagram. I would like to follow you and see more of your nendoroid collections. Thank you!
