I'm not going to argue that the story is amazing or anything, but I thought playing on Disney's "When you wish upon a star" was a nice way to commemorate the 100th year of Disney. The idea of your wishes being taken away as a cost for protection in a "utopian" society but then a heroine realizing how terrible it is to not be able to pursue those wishes and fighting to return them made for an interesting enough story. The movie will at least always hold a special place for me as the first movie I took my 7 year old son to see in the theater.
I definitely understand the sentiment but I have to say I disagree on a couple of points. I think the soundtrack is more of a niche than previous Disney films but I really do think a couple of the songs are really really great. It definitely has problems but I absolutely cannot say I didn’t enjoy it, I loved the visuals and really enjoyed magnifico as a villain. I think before the film came out I was hoping they would’ve leaned more into the more traditional 2D animation styling of the past but the film is still stunning regardless. It doesn’t feel hugely like a centennial release but I think outside of the expectations it was given it still somewhat delivers.
@@lorcana_inkwell yeah possibly, I think I’ve tried to keep my outlook on it more positive because of the sheer amount of negativity surrounding the film so maybe that’s why it seemed like the points differed more (not saying you’re being negative just seems the general consensus online is to stomp this film into the ground for no real apparent reason).
I enjoyed it enough as well. Also really enjoyed the end credits with Star pictures of characters from every Disney Animation Studios animated movie over the last last 100 years (except The Black Cauldron and Meet the Robinsons)! My biggest issue was simply why were those two movies given no love at least in those end credits!
What a fast review! I think after hearing about the movie I will be saving money and waiting till it hits Disney+. Also I don't have money because I spent it all on Lorcana...
If they would have just been the kit hen staff in that first seen, it would have been a fine little nod, but the fact that they were integral to the plot yet so forgettable really irked me.
@@lorcana_inkwell My issue was that, like you said they were just a diversity group. While some of them were interesting, I think Bashful and Grumpy were the best 2 for me. The others just kinda blended together since they got so little screen time, but tried to be big parts of the movie. I am however super hyped for the potential, probably steel cards from this movie.
Has no shame this movie is awesome I don’t care how bad u think the songs where but I think they where cool. It’s just people are not used to this new style

That's awesome! The Paw Patrol movie is nothing special, but it'll always hold a soft spot as my first movie with my kid.

I think other than you liking the music a bit more than me, we actually agree on all your points

I hear that lol
I’d say the same for me
The seven dwarves friends were really fun, but they did lack actual value for the movie. Just as a call back.
