There is nothing, nothing at all, like a knife review from the Apostle P. Every knife review somehow captures they mystical awe we all felt when we handled our first pocket knives as boys. Thank you for not letting us forget.

Interesting video :) While the 'Tom's Choice' blade etch has been used, 'TC' on the bolster stamp never stood for 'Tom's Choice', it has always stood for 'Tidioute Cutlery'. They were not the 'Tom's Choice' Barlows. Ask Charlie :)

Sweet knives there Homey! But GEC did use the "Good As Gold" trademark years ago, and only once in awhile. Mainly the earlier years. They made glitter gold acrylic knives in various patterns & announced them as "the Good As Gold collectible series". This was long before they ever made any #15 TC Barlow's. And during that time, even some knives were delivered straight from the factory with the Good as Gold label, that didn't even have glitter gold acrylic handles. I have a few patterns with bone handles that have that trademark on the tube label. But to my knowledge, they only had the G as G etch on the blades of knives that did have the GG acrylic handles. No G as G etches on bone handles, just tube labels. Leads me to believe they were just using up those tube labels for other Tidioute knives from the same era/runs. But they haven't used this trademark in quite sometime, until now.......of course. So for anyone who discovered GEC knives around 2012 & later, it's easy to assume this is "a brand new trademark". But if ya research their website by viewing all the knives made over the years since the beginning, you'll learn otherwise. ;o)

@@tonyrome655 You're very welcome. I can't recall exactly which patterns & what years for the few Tidioutes I have with this tube label only ( no "G as G" etch ).........I would have to go through my collection, but I do know they are from the early years and purchased straight from authorized dealers. Plus, I've seen others online, with this label from early on.

Almost forgot to mention. It's a common mistake people make Rob but TC Never stood for Tom's Choice it always stood for Tidioute Cutlery witch was the brand all TC Barlows are tang stamped with. Many of us expected the Sepia bone TC Barlows to have Charlie's new private Tang Stamp Waynorth Cutlery but because TC Barlow means Tidioute Cutlery Barlow that just wouldn't make any sense. I got all this information from reading the "What Makes a Traditional Barlow knife" thread off BladeForums if you'd like to read more on the subject. ✌

Lucked out and won the lottery from CK for the glitter gold for $63. Traded it for a sepia. Couldn’t be happier.

Thank the Lord for these nice videos. Unless you can afford 300 or more dollars for a pocket knife on EBay, this is as close as most of us will get to owning one. I love GEC knives but for the love of God, why don’t they make enough of them to put the scalpers out of business !? I would much rather pay GEC twice the price than to pay $300 or more to someone on EBay ! Come on Mr. Howard. Make more knives please. I don’t think most people would complain to pay you more money than to give it to the sharks. I’m sayin

How do people get these knives? I spent the past week and a half refreshing every dealer’s website as often as I can, being a working man, and it seems as soon as I see the photo on the site it’s accompanied by a “sold out” sign. And here you are with two of them on the table!

I am well aware of the fact that because I spent such a large amount of time trying to acquire a stupid knife, and I am upset that I came up empty handed, is evidence that there is something wrong with me.

I can’t agree more. It seems getting any GEC at retail is like hitting the lottery. Only exceptions I have seen are the 97s, some pocket carvers, and the boys knives with the bail and chain. Very frustrating. Of course, there is EBay if you can afford it. Love the knives but very hard to find. Too hard.

I like that rose gold better than the regular glitter gold. But the Osage Orange handle is still my favorite among these new TC Barlow's. See my other comment Rob. There's info I think you'll find interesting.

These don't look quite as special, not as old-world and antiqued. Still an amazing little knife, I'm sure.
