You make a great point! I think another key driver to preventing a sell off is creating a robust community for buying and selling via Pi will certainly help preventing a sell off. In other words, Pi needs community and utility to continue develop value.
@@WesSpencer big problem is if people don't sell it off and everyone just hordes it then it will crash and probably never pick up again, it's vital like bitcoin there is a purpose in why you need to have it, like buying things online like on TOR where you don't want to use bank details. Without that community it won't ever take off.

Well, lots of people don’t believe Pi will success, but actually if you want to sell your pi right now , there are only 300 pioneers can transfer, so definitely when pi listed on the exchanges, will be a mass sell off, but if you’re a smart person, you won’t do that stupid thing, just look Bitcoin Ethereum , they took years to become worth a lot. And Wes you are right.. pi core team help us to prevent from mass sell off.

And then, buy back in at the initial crash... just look at $GRT. We all saw it go from 10 to 80 cents in a day or two... crash... now pushing 2.50. Be smart and be active. Trading isn't easy so please don't give up wherever you are. Trading takes time(months, even years) to master, even the pros learn everyday. Never the less, if you lose money no matter which side you take, maybe you need to look at how you are managing active trades rather than how you are entering them. My advice, find a mentor . you'll thank me later .
@Cleveland Dest I know of one man though, he is not a mentor per-se, but he is freakishly good at trading. From what I've gathered he used to work for a proprietary firm till he retired. Met him at one of those conferences, got to know him and we exchanged numbers. Since he helped me, I've been making about $1000 bi-weekly. What I'm trying to say is the 5% of traders in the world that are consistently profitable are not on RUclips, they are just random/low key people no one even expects . His name was Edward Brian by the way.

Hi Wes, thank you for the vide was awesome as always, So i have control of my wallet meaning i have a small amount of pi coins in my wallet, I did a 90% lock down 10% free to spend however, i am not going to spend anything until main net launch. While we are in our Infancy i feel it not wise to spend or sell any coins just yet. I am a dreamer and i am a believer in pi ecosystem for the future, as we all go down this road together we are relying on each-other to find our way. I have 10 people on my team and i have been mining since about mid 2018 so i have been in a while and i am very calm with my coins. channel so this is what comes to mind with pi, i never thought it would reach 40 million pioneer's now this is very serous indeed. That number speaks for itself, nothing can be said about that is what others are looking at present time since pi is worth nothing still. will change very soon!!!!

so, i am quite new to crypto. but i have done some research on pi network since i got it. i got a quastion: I have learned that the 3 people who are owners of pi have quite some shares. 2 of them have 33% and the third one has 3%. this would mean that the first to would easly have billions of dollars worth in pi (that is if pi would come out at around 1 dollar wich is quite possble if you ask me). Could they not just easly buy pi in on those big crypto sites? you named 4 big crypto sites in your video, lets say they want pi on all 4. worst case cenario it will cost 40 million dollars, wich is nothing compared to what they have. plus, if they put pi on all 4 of the big crypto sites i assume that pi will become even more valuable, and that would make the sharholders very happy cause theyr pi is now extremly expensive. also the pioneers would love this cause our pi would be easy to trade and worth a lot. like i said, i am new to crypto so i am probebly VERY wrong.

I'm kinda confused about exchanges.. If alot of people sell crypto, the crypto will loose value, but if alot of people buy crypto, it will gain value.. Well.. When people are selling, who are they selling to? Cause if they are selling their crypto to buyers, then there is just as many people buying crypto as there are selling? Or do they sell it to the exchanges?
In my amateur opinion, I think that pi needs to hold out on an exchange until 100 million+. What we have is the advantage if gaining popularity without immediate risk. Once it's a self sufficient and well known coin, it will have much more potential.

I believe you are incorrect. Pi core team as far as I am aware have stated they will not be seeking addition to an exchange. Unless an exchange expressly invites them.

It is indeed a competitive market. Wonder how it will go for Pi with 20-30 million users. At that point, it's more of a competition between exchanges. Sure, maybe not Coinbase first, but there will plenty as you said. Look at what happened to Polkadot - DOT... That coin was listed on every single biggest and mainstream exchanges within a matter of a couple of days. Have they paid the price in advance? Was it all because of Gavin's reputation in the space? Was it just competition between exchanges? Was it sheer anticipation for the tech? Lil bit of all? Pi as always will boast with its userbase mainly and tech secondarily. Right now is not the finished version (very far from it actually). One thing for sure: time will tell.
All this is new to so I'm trying to take in as much information as I can get I'm 60 years old and have gotten into pi I enjoy your lessons it helps non tech people like my self. But I agree to small rollout of wallets to be released to keep mass sell off. I think it should be random users that got in at different stages and parts of the world to see how the demographic of people react to there wallet and thankyou again

Don't you think it's better when we have more of market places being built both internally in the Pi App and externally like we have in the case of The Pi Lifestyle where goods and services are being exchange for Pi already. Cause exchange platforms are just basically profit oriented and they wont help help pi grow it's intrinsic value it's design to have but rather affect it's value negatively. kindly let me know your thought as I strongly believe that exchanges platforms are not to be encouraged for pioneers but rather market places where pi will be valued more. We could vote that the tokens that are sold immediately cost more and that provides some burn liquidity to the market, thus increasing the coins price. Like a “burn” to the rugpullers
Thanks Wes! Great video and explanation. I've been playing around with crypto for the past 3 years or so and started mining Pi last year. I also own a Coinbase account through which I've been able to get paid wages before. I do believe Pi may become interesting in the future and I'm not in a rush to convert it into fiat anytime soon but I believe I have a technical question that would be relevant to most of the Pi miners out there... Now I'm obviously a newbie in the crypto universe. As I said, apart from the Pi app and a Coinbase account where I own a little bit of crypto here and there, I'm pretty much in the dark... On Coinbase though it's very straight forward to buy, sell and withdraw to my bank account whatever funds I want. But what about Pi. How will I be able to transfer/trade my Pi once it gets to phase 3? Will it connect to my bank account as well? Or to my Coinbase account, perhaps? How will this technically work out? Once again sorry if this is too much of a newbie question here ;) Thanks!
They are definitely on the right track to make strong crypto but they have to be careful not to make mistakes rushing out on mainnet and with wallet. It will be worth more than lot of people think in a few years time so just be patient, mine while you can and hold for some time.
I think Pi Network has been amassing millions of dollars from its sponsors as well as from the download of its Pi app in Playstoreand App store. So there's no doubt it can list Pi in several reputable exchanges as soon as the wallet is available for its members.
How much longer until we aren’t able to mine Pi anymore? (Your best guess is better than mine) I’m assuming it will be sooner so the market isn’t flooded with Pi.
I think mining will continue for quite a while, it'll just trickle down into much smaller amounts. There still needs to be a key driver to Pi user growth in the ecosystem and mining is the key for this.
You can always sell on DEX like Uniswap lol. I think top exchange can like Binance can list Pi immediately it hits the market for free. 12M + users = massive Liquidity. And these exchanges wouldn’t wanna miss out on new members as a lot of Pi holders don’t even have crypto accounts as they are new to crypto. That’s my thoughts anyway lol
Yep, you're exactly right. And that's a huge reason why DEXs' have come out. I didn't want to add complexity to my video but you make a great point that we'll likely see early adoption on DEXs for sure.

Secondly, I don’t think pi will be listed on the exchange, but like some friends in China think, pi will be one day for large public chains and all other cryptocurrencies can be on pi It runs on the public chain, just like ETH, so pi will have its own exchange, because the pi software and applications are becoming more and more mature, so that the π icon appears on everyone’s mobile phone instead of on the exchange. I believe there are equal number of pioneers who are laying low and waiting to buy pi as soon as it is released into wallets, who would slowly release pi into the market making it scarce. But would that help pi become a widely used decentralized currency or more like an asset like bitcoin nowdays? Question is always there, either way Pi will take off with time.

I think AxisOption wallet and exchange platform is the best. For one, I earn passively while holding my crypto on the axisoption from their wallet systems and when I sell bitcoins on their platform, I receive very fast payments.

Here in India there is high chances of government banning cryptocurrencies. If this happens will I able to use pi using VPN? Or transfer my pi to someone ? I am so much worried about this

The pi group will send everyone to register your id after you do all what they want you will need yoti app. Everyone will get the notification until the end of the year I belive and sry for my bad English hope you understand me :)

Hey, I have the same issue too. I am waiting for kyc. I missed the last time. You can check account verified by going into your app, check your profile. This should show account verified via phone or mobile. If like me, you haven't heard about kyc then we should hear something before we go main net. I have recently registered with bee network app. It's basically PI alternative, so definitely worth checking. If you do register then please use my code, which is ynwa786. Good luck

The pi whitepaper is vague about exchange listings but the faq says "Pi’s Core Team does not control when cryptocurrency exchanges (like Binance, Coinbase, Kraken etc.) decide to list Pi.....exchanges can choose to list Pi." what does this even mean?
The pi chat is full of people asking when they can make money from pi.. My gut feeling is there will be a mass sell off if allowed. For me it's not about that, it's about being a part of something new. It's cost me nothing but opening a app once a day. Exciting times. Hodl

I got a question, this currency seems to be available available to everyone. And it's not even mining Pi is basically earning Pi. It's worth like 1 american cent and it has been out for almost 2 years. Is Pi really going to increase in price? It seems too accessible and easy to get.

Could they not just easly buy pi in on those big crypto sites? you named 4 big crypto sites in your video, lets say they want pi on all 4. worst case cenario it will cost 40 million dollars, wich is nothing compared to what they have. plus, if they put pi on all 4 of the big crypto sites i assume that pi will become even more valuable, and that would make the sharholders very happy cause theyr pi is now extremly expensive. also the pioneers would love this cause our pi would be easy to trade and worth a lot. like i said, i am new to crypto so i am probebly VERY wrong.
It is very necessary to be listed on credible exchanges but we can not ignore the utility base value !
I seen on Twitter yesterday that pi is only test pi which will always be worthless. When the wallets come out the network will be resetting people's wallets

I'm kinda confused about exchanges.. If alot of people sell crypto, the crypto will loose value, but if alot of people buy crypto, it will gain value.. Well.. When people are selling, who are they selling to? Cause if they are selling their crypto to buyers, then there is just as many people buying crypto as there are selling? Or do they sell it to the exchanges?

In my amateur opinion, I think that pi needs to hold out on an exchange until 100 million+. What we have is the advantage if gaining popularity without immediate risk. Once it's a self sufficient and well known coin, it will have much more potential.

I believe you are incorrect. Pi core team as far as I am aware have stated they will not be seeking addition to an exchange. Unless an exchange expressly invites them.

I think massive sell off is not gonna happen if the price start in very small amount, then gradually create a strong trend and network.

It is indeed a competitive market. Wonder how it will go for Pi with 20-30 million users. At that point, it's more of a competition between exchanges. Sure, maybe not Coinbase first, but there will plenty as you said. Look at what happened to Polkadot - DOT... That coin was listed on every single biggest and mainstream exchanges within a matter of a couple of days. Have they paid the price in advance? Was it all because of Gavin's reputation in the space? Was it just competition between exchanges? Was it sheer anticipation for the tech? Lil bit of all? Pi as always will boast with its userbase mainly and tech secondarily. Right now is not the finished version (very far from it actually). One thing for sure: time will tell.
All this is new to so I'm trying to take in as much information as I can get I'm 60 years old and have gotten into pi I enjoy your lessons it helps non tech people like my self. But I agree to small rollout of wallets to be released to keep mass sell off. I think it should be random users that got in at different stages and parts of the world to see how the demographic of people react to there wallet and thankyou again

Thanks so much Wes for your sincere reviews. However looking at things from the perspective what Pi is designed to be used for and where. Don't you think it's better when we have more of market places being built both internally in the Pi App and externally like we have in the case of The Pi Lifestyle where goods and services are being exchange for Pi already. Cause exchange platforms are just basically profit oriented and they wont help help pi grow it's intrinsic value it's design to have but rather affect it's value negatively. kindly let me know your thought as I strongly believe that exchanges platforms are not to be encouraged for pioneers but rather market places where pi will be valued more. Thanks Wes! Great video and explanation. I've been playing around with crypto for the past 3 years or so and started mining Pi last year. I also own a Coinbase account through which I've been able to get paid wages before. I do believe Pi may become interesting in the future and I'm not in a rush to convert it into fiat anytime soon but I believe I have a technical question that would be relevant to most of the Pi miners out there... Now I'm obviously a newbie in the crypto universe. As I said, apart from the Pi app and a Coinbase account where I own a little bit of crypto here and there, I'm pretty much in the dark... On Coinbase though it's very straight forward to buy, sell and withdraw to my bank account whatever funds I want. But what about Pi. How will I be able to transfer/trade my Pi once it gets to phase 3? Will it connect to my bank account as well? Or to my Coinbase account, perhaps? How will this technically work out?
Once again sorry if this is too much of a newbie question here ;)

They are definitely on the right track to make strong crypto but they have to be careful not to make mistakes rushing out on mainnet and with wallet. It will be worth more than lot of people think in a few years time so just be patient, mine while you can and hold for some time.
I think Pi Network has been amassing millions of dollars from its sponsors as well as from the download of its Pi app in Playstoreand App store. So there's no doubt it can list Pi in several reputable exchanges as soon as the wallet is available for its members.

I’m assuming it will be sooner so the market isn’t flooded with Pi.
I think mining will continue for quite a while, it'll just trickle down into much smaller amounts. There still needs to be a key driver to Pi user growth in the ecosystem and mining is the key for this.

You can always sell on DEX like Uniswap lol. I think top exchange can like Binance can list Pi immediately it hits the market for free. 12M + users = massive Liquidity. And these exchanges wouldn’t wanna miss out on new members as a lot of Pi holders don’t even have crypto accounts as they are new to crypto. That’s my thoughts anyway lol
Yep, you're exactly right. And that's a huge reason why DEXs' have come out. I didn't want to add complexity to my video but you make a great point that we'll likely see early adoption on DEXs for sure.

Do you have any thoughts on the Akash Network? It's a decentralized cloud computing network and looks really interesting to me.
I believe there are equal number of pioneers who are laying low and waiting to buy pi as soon as it is released into wallets, who would slowly release pi into the market making it scarce.
But would that help pi become a widely used decentralized currency or more like an asset like bitcoin nowdays? Question is always there, either way Pi will take off with time.
No one will sell off because it only cost $0.000314 if it will be released.

I think AxisOption wallet and exchange platform is the best. For one, I earn passively while holding my crypto on the axisoption from their wallet systems and when I sell bitcoins on their platform, I receive very fast payments.

You can check account verified by going into your app, check your profile.
This should show account verified via phone or mobile.

Yes that’s true. They can submit and apply but exchanges decide for themselves which cryptos to add and when.

I got a question, this currency seems to be available available to everyone. And it's not even mining Pi is basically earning Pi. It's worth like 1 american cent and it has been out for almost 2 years. Is Pi really going to increase in price? It seems too accessible and easy to get.
