I was unable to get past installing the Docker app, because my computer is Windows 10 rather than Windows 10 Pro. It's disappointing that i can't go further with it until i get a new computer or install new hardware, though it makes sense because they want the network secured via the most modern technology, not my bf's castaways.

What my thoughts are that this idea of a community is key. It will be like the dollar. There is no gold backing it but the trust of the people of the world is what is keeping it as the main tool for trade and transactions. If Pi can reach that 100 million and beyond..this is a huge sign of trust. To avoid dump situations the core Pi team will need to create incentives for people to want to hold on to it. Essentially making it a valuable trading tool(especially within the community). I think its very doable.

Hi Wes, compliments for your posts! I’ve been in the PI Network since the early beginning. I don’t even know how many PI's were mined per hour at the time, but it was a lot. I remember ordering a t-shirt with the 100k user tag :), and now there are 12 million of us, crazy! I have the Transfer option enabled from the first wave onwards, but I lack a little more initiative to use it among users who have this option at least. I miss a little bit more data/info flow between the team and the miners (missing some daily news), and chatting in the app isn’t the most useful. But in the end ... i feel some kind optimistic about PI Network :). Good luck to all the PI miners and definitely more such posts, Wes!

Its not mining anything. Its rewarding you with pre-mined Pi. Its how they are creating their community. It will drop to 0 soon. You can really mine on higher rates with running nodes.
It seems like an elaborate tracking device to me. One of its sub platform (apps) is called Fever IQ where they ask you if you have any Covid symptoms or if you’ve been tested and or even vaccinated. If this thing eventually ties into a COVID vaccination censor it could be huge. It’s only a matter of time until government’s pass bills that require people to prove they are vaccinated. There are already states and territories that require proof you are COVID negative. This is definitely interesting. Good luck trying to get anti vaxxers to buy into though.

Could be. Pi has a really long way to go to deliver. I’ve been around a great many failed cryptos. Upside is there, but it’s a long path and consistent execution to have a chance. Yes. 100% agreed with you on this. Wallet security is all of a sudden going to be a HUGE topic in Pi given how many folks that are new into crypto are coming in through Pi. Which is a good thing. But that's why I'm an advocate of custodial wallets to start, then non-custodial as an option later for those (like me) that are prepared for the ramifications of securing them.
If they make pi into currency like the one they use in most online mmorpg, it would be very nice....people can buy or sell items on the app, while letting the users buy or sell their coins for real money.....the only difference is that, in games, people cant change ingame currency into real money...they let you buy cash using ingame currency only for ingame spending, but not letting the cash transfer into real money again.... If pi let the two way transfers possible, it would be very nice...like people can sell coins for new users and new users buy the coins when they want to buy anything on the platform....even if they limit the mining, people still would use the platform to buy and sell if the userbase is very large. Like new users with 0 pi coins would use the platform for shopping only even if they had to purchase the coins first in order to buy anything. But getting the first batch of people to start selling their valuable items for pi coins which has no value would take a very smart twist and plan in order to make it worth and trustworthy.

It mines even if it is turned off because is not the phone making the mining. You just signal once a day on the app and then the rest is made by the server. If it used your phones computing power it would possibly have variable mining rate

I think your mining rate will go to Zero and the app will have some refurbishment and they may add a wallet to the app which means you will be able to store and trade. It might then after a couple years maybe 2023 it will go onto major trading websites like etoro, etc.

Kinda yeah. There are some good comments. Definitely spamming of referral codes (which is fine by me) and yes bots which I try to weed out. But yeah... lots of noise here since RUclips doesn’t have the best comment management system.
Keep in mind you also need to account for the number of currency in circulation. ETH is currently around 114M and BTC is 18M. But we don't know how many Pi are in circulation. I think it's fair to say its far higher than ETH. And in all things basic economics, part of the valuation in a currency has to do with currency in circulation (inflation).

Could be. Pi has a really long way to go to deliver. I’ve been around a great many failed cryptos. Upside is there, but it’s a long path and consistent execution to have a chance.

Perhaps they should use a model like"TronChain" but whatever they do if there's no value sooner or later the interest will vanish. I'm kind of perplexed that there are millions of participants (including myself) yet this thing isn't worth a dime or even 0.002, etc.

Yes. 100% agreed with you on this. Wallet security is all of a sudden going to be a HUGE topic in Pi given how many folks that are new into crypto are coming in through Pi. Which is a good thing. But that's why I'm an advocate of custodial wallets to start, then non-custodial as an option later for those (like me) that are prepared for the ramifications of securing them.
The interesting thing I see about pi is that it is about people, and being able to mine from your personal phone is you make it yours.

If they make pi into currency like the one they use in most online mmorpg, it would be very nice....people can buy or sell items on the app, while letting the users buy or sell their coins for real money.....the only difference is that, in games, people cant change ingame currency into real money...they let you buy cash using ingame currency only for ingame spending, but not letting the cash transfer into real money again....
If pi let the two way transfers possible, it would be very nice...like people can sell coins for new users and new users buy the coins when they want to buy anything on the platform....even if they limit the mining, people still would use the platform to buy and sell if the userbase is very large. Like new users with 0 pi coins would use the platform for shopping only even if they had to purchase the coins first in order to buy anything. But getting the first batch of people to start selling their valuable items for pi coins which has no value would take a very smart twist and plan in order to make it worth and trustworthy.

It mines even if it is turned off because is not the phone making the mining. You just signal once a day on the app and then the rest is made by the server. If it used your phones computing power it would possibly have variable mining rate

I think your mining rate will go to Zero and the app will have some refurbishment and they may add a wallet to the app which means you will be able to store and trade. It might then after a couple years maybe 2023 it will go onto major trading websites like etoro, etc.
