I've even quilting a long tme..too often worrying about everything. Your philosophy is one of the best lessons I've learned. Relax, create don't be afraid of mistakes. Even a botched project can be recut into something scrappy.fabric is expensive.but it can always be put to a new purpose.
Quilts for others has kept me calm during the crazy times. But don't make it " a project" .. enjoy the journey.
"Mistakes" are actually just design elements, lol. My mom taught me that ages ago. She was a wise woman.

I’ve been thinking about you. So good to see your smile again-love the little show of gray in the beard! Setbacks are part of life. The important part of that word is “back”-as in, you’re back! Always a joy to see you and learn what you’re laying down. When you said hot n heavy I couldn’t help but hear an A-10 screaming in my mind. Tent city was set up right along the airstrip where the A-10’s were prepped for flight. Those A-10’s were such beasts.

I agree. It's the journey that is so much fun. I don't make quilts for myself/family anymore for the most part. We all have plenty. I make quilts for QOV, and a ton of local charities. I even keep some quilts that folks make and aren't perfect in my car to hand out to homeless folks.. It's winter, and they need to keep warm too.

Hi QM, My Dad was a Marine. His platoon were the guys who raised flag on Iwo Jima. So proud of You & Him. I did 12 kaleidoscope blocks from thrift store fabric which I washed & starched. I haven't put them together because they are from petal shape not triangle ruler & at a standstill. May put on square & applique...I saw your last video & that's what inspired me to make it. I so can't wait for your next.. Sis raises Monarch Butterflys & let's them off as they're not as plentiful in MD.

Glad to see you back. Haven't been able to get my sewjo back. Husband of 50 years diagnosed with cancer. Its treatable but sure took the wind out of my sails. Butterflies are my fav and I love the bright colors. Anxious to see you proceed.
