      Hey there! I know it must be frustrating with very few tutorials for the Portrait. The good news is that all the tutorials you see with the Cameo will also be helpful with your Portrait 3. They use the same software and the same settings, it's just that your cutting area will be a little smaller. I do have a video on using HTV with the Cameo, I think it would be helpful for you. I ordered the cameo 4 a few days ago and today I was looking at the cameo portrait 3 for curiosity and fell in love with it. Swing design has a good deal now, it's a bundle for $174 and the mats are in good price too. I ordered it today and have been watching your videos because I'm new to the crafting world and have been learning everything about cricut and silhouette. Well I'm hooked with both. If I can use premier pro and photoshop I know I can learn to use these programs cricut design space and silhouette studio. your video have been a great help with the info you provide about all and each machine. I learned that I should get that ratchet blade for cameo 4 today and ordered it. I'm waiting for my cameo 4 in white and cameo 3 portrait on the mail. I already have the cameo 4 in pink but haven't open it yet because I have been busy registering my cricuts machines and getting familiar with design space. You remind me, I'm not alone! I loving this machines. I was not looking for crafting, it found me

    Thanks for this video! The size is a huge draw for me, as I live in a very small apartment and literally have no space for the Cameo 4. Reviews and tutorials on the Portrait 3 is still few, but is it fair to say that tutorials to the P2 will apply to the P4? I want to use it to cut stickers, and if it will be good for kiss and die cut stickers. Thank you.

      Hey KM. There is not much difference at all between the Portrait 2 and 3, other than the P3 has the new Autoblade like the Cameo 4s, but the P3 only comes with one adapter (sketch pens) instead of 4. you said you would still recommend the cameo 4 over this if space is not a concern, why is that? I know they are different sizes, but are there differences in quality?

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 года назад

      Hey there! Great question! Size is the factor here, because the price difference is minimal when considering buying a machine (around $80 difference. It probably doesn't seem like it, but using the Portrait can make certain projects more difficult, only because you have to either cut and piece multiple items together or limit the size of files you work with. Most crafters/bloggers/creaters think in terms of 12", so most of the inspiration you find are using a 12" machine to cut. Vinyl is offered in 12" rolls and sheets (except certain vendors) so you end up cutting down and potential wasting the additional 4" of material. So I do love the Portrait, but if space/mobility/budget wasn't a concern, I would recommend the Cameo 4. Hope this helps! ---Becky

    Hello,
    Sorry to bother you, I discovered your youtube channel today and I had a question about cutting machines. Indeed, I saw your nice presentation videos on the portrait silhouette 3 and on the cricut air explore 2 and I was wondering what are the differences between these two machines? I'm hesitating between the two and I don't know which one I bought ...
    I also wonder if the silhouette portrait 3 can cut A4, plasticized sheets and very precise small images ? I would like to use this machine to create games for children ... and other personal projects :) I don't know which one would be the most suitable ?
    Thank you for your reading and thank you in advance for your answers.
    Good day

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 года назад +1

      Hey Margot! I do not have a lot of experience with cutting plasticized sheets, but I don't know that either one of these machines will do what you are looking for. I've cut acetate in the past on my Silhouette and it was fine, but my designs were not intricate. Thicker materials like plastic take more force, meaning your cuts may not be as precise. But if I had to choose between the two, I would choose the Cricut Explore Air 2 because it is typically a more precise cutter than Silhouette machines. Wish I could give you a definitive answer. Best of luck! ---Becky

    I've been thinking of investing in a crafting machine. I know Cricut is very popular and recommended by crafters. I just discovered this other brand. I'm wanting to mostly use the machine to make iron on words for dog bandanas. Which brand and machine would you recommend? FYI, I'm not looking to start a business but to maybe make stickers or just some DIY projects for now; the future maybe more but still not sure which to invest in.🤔

    • @DesignBundles
      @DesignBundles  3 года назад

      Great question! If you have the room for a full-size machine, I would probably recommend a Cricut Explore Air 2, because it's a great entry level machine and in my opinion, Cricut has a more reliable print and cut system. If you're not going to do a lot of print and cut (because you mentioned stickers), then the Cameo 4 will actually give you more creativity because it has a more robust software. So I would probably recommend downloading the software for each machine and seeing which one feels more natural to you. I'll also link my comparison video here, hopefully it will help a little. Can you use foil with p3?

      Hey Hannah! What kind of foil are you asking about? You can definitely use textile foil, and the Foil Quill, and foil HTV. I'd love to clarify for you. Thanks! ---Becky

    Hello. Im trying to decide between the cameo 4 and portrait 3. I really just want to make logo stickers and labels for my cosmetics/soap that I sell. Can I do everything I need with the portrait 3? What would make the 4 a better choice? Thank you in advance!!

      Hey Lemony, I would say the only reason to upgrade would be if you are printing wide format. Otherwise your label sheets will only be letter size anyways, which is perfect for the Portrait. There is still a chance you might want to expand into other areas and want a larger cut, but for printable stickers, the Portrait 3 is a great choice. Hope this helps! ---Becky

    I have both the cricut air 2 and the cricut maker, but I’ve been wanting a silhouette portrait 3 for smaller designs and sticker sets. I love my cricuts but their print and cut is just so.... rubbish!

      Hey there! The Portrait 3 is a super-great small-format cutting machine! Unfortunately, I feel like the Cricut machines are more reliable in their print and cut, so I'm not sure the Portrait 3 would really help in this department. Hope this helps! ---Becky

      @@DesignBundles really? That’s the opposite to what I’ve heard 😨 either way I will love my portrait 3 regardless. It can’t do any worse than cricuts surely 😂

    Do you have a video using heat transfer vinyl using the Portrait 3?

      I do not, but the process will be the same as the Cameo models, other than size that is. Hope this helps! ---Becky
