Casio CA-53W in 3 variants plus a CA-55

- The classic Casio Calculator CA53W was released in 1988 in (at least) 2 variants. The one featuring the WR yellow symbol being the more common. In the 2nd 2000's release, the WR symbol comes in 3 variants: white, yellow and boxed.
Fun fact: Marty McFly used a Casio CA-50 in the first movie but in the other 2 movies he used the 53W
Because the Ca-50 was available only in 1984-1985 , BTTF 2 was shot in 1988 ) , At the end of BTTF 1 When Marty wakes up , he doesnt wear his watch when he goes outside , look at the truck and meet Jennifer . When they reshot the ending of BTTF1 at the beginning of the 2nd movie ( now with Elisabeth shue as Jennifer ) , he is wearing the CA-53W . I dont know why they put the watch back on the 2nd . If you watch BTTF 1-2-3 , Youll see movie mistakes , cause the watch is there in some shots but not there in others when it should be its all .througout the movie .
I will have to get one for my collection. It’s a shame though they haven’t upgraded the module with a back light after all these years.

someone asked what the "dh" on back of watch means, a reply was: Typically those letters correspond to the sale region: Japan, Europe, etc. The “U” typically designates a Japan market model.

Merci pour ta vidéo ! It's very difficult now to find the model that we want because sales websites don't change the pictures of their products so you don't know wich one you're going to have... I just bought one with the not circled yellow WR according to the pictures and received the circled one... Anyway, it's still very cool and I love it's style. I am really fond of your white version too !

I have had the Casio calculator watch since the 1980s. I think I bought the first one in 1981 or 1982. I won't get anything else. I miss the backlight, which allowed me to read the time in the dark. I have to replace the watch about every other year, due to the battery dying. I often have to replace the band about once a year. I buy them at our local Walmart.

Good find on the CA-55 , its the first time i see this wristband for the CA-55 ( with the bolt/lightning logo under the water resist 100 m . The 1991 model had two squares ( purple and yellow ) instead . As for the Ca-53w , they shouldnt have done the one with the boxed WR ( its the new 2021-2022 version ) i prefer the classic version that look exactly like the 1988 version ( yellow WR , not boxed ) , i bought three of them cause i knew Casio was gonna mess it up ! As for BTTF , the first BTTF had the 1984 Ca-50 LIthium , BTTF 2-3 had the Ca-53W . But i really think the CA-55 was only available in Europe not North America , i have never seen it in any sears etc.. or retail store catalogue form U.S.A or canada

I dont think that there is not any difference between the generations, its just being assembled at a different place and have a different WR symbol, overall great vid man, thank you so much

1982 is when this Casio calculator watch was introduced, not 1988.
I'm looking for cool, sturdy casios for my 10 & 8 year old kids. The F91 came to mind first but I'm not sure if the fit will be too loose due to their tiny wrists. Any you can recommend?
Good question. Actually i gifted my son a Ca53w, the calculator you see in the video. Children use to love calculator watches. There are plenty of colorways and lcd displays. Check them out on amazon or ebay. Your kids will love them. And they are muchc fun. Thanks for watching and stay tuned.

is there any difference between the thick WR and the WR with outer line other than the thicker strap? which one feesl cheaper? for the build quality , which one is better for me to buy?
other than th logo, they feel the same. There is some slight difference on the LCD display on my copies though. Regards

The one with the WR in the box is not one of the current ones? I have one of the "new generation" that I bought in a department store.

Anyway also noted that guy on trailer before he falls off with a gold color type.... my eyes went after stopping ..rewind..start and stopping on the right shot to see what type. At least know now.... :) I still have a Casio Cosmos has watch still running :) had a calculator one but lost it in a move.. :( did buy one you describe in video and another type data bank..Digitech

McFly wore ca-50 in the first movie and ca-53w in both 2nd and 3rd films
Ca-50 dans le premier film ( filmer en 1984 ) , Ca-53w dans le deuxieme et troisieme ( filmer en 1988-debut 1989 ) . Si tu remarque a la fin du premier , il ne la porte pas lorsquil revoit Jennifer , mais lorsqu'il ont refilmer la scene de la fin du 1 au debut du 2ieme film ( avec Elisabeth Shue comme actrice ) , il porte maintenant une montre CA-53W . Je te conseille une Ca-53W avec le WR en jaune , pas de contour ) car une Ca-50 est tres rare, va te couter 400 $ et seras probablemnt meme pas toute originale . La ca-53w est la meilleure option , malheureusement Casio dpeuis 2021-2022 l'a modifier un peu ) le WR est entourer , mais tu peux encore trouver celle avec le WR en jaune sans contour un peu partout pour environ 20 $ . Ce modele est identique au modele de BTTF2 de 1988 , si tu regarde des catalogue Sears 1989 dans google , tu la verras a vendre .

Marty en fait a porté les deux versions. Dans Future 1 il portait la plus rare, avec des allures en bleue. Et dans le Future 2, il avait avec lui cello que je déploie dans la video. Salut l'ami 👋🏻

they are the same size and dimensions, yes. But they are totally different. The ca55's has no grooves at all. Thanks for watching

Got two of these, the newer "Assembled in Korea," the older "Japan M." The backs are otherwise identical. Pretty sure the older is first generation.

@@tonton5138 Celle de 1988 c'est celle avec le WR en jaune (pas de contour ) , c'est celle que jai dans mon catalogue automne/hiver 1989 de Sears et autre catalogue . Marty porte ce modele la dans BTTF 2-3 , filmer en 1988 . Je crois plus que le WR en blanc est un modele genre 2013-1015 par exemple ou de quoi du genre . Une reddition du modele de 1988 mais avec le logo blanc . Ils sont ensuite revenu avec le logo WR jaaune style en 2015-2020

There are no ca53 (and all the casio calculator line) fakes. The module is too complex to copy. The casio fakes come at the G shock and the simpler F-14/31 etc levels.
@plasticindices3385 you clearly do not know what your talking about, there's so many examples online and on RUclips of fakes. A quick Google search is all you need, they fake almost every casio watch its not 1990 anymore
