- This was a fun one. By the time you see this I"ll be on my way to another location. A week has passed between this film and where I am now. Perpetually on the move but so interesting to see how the students build, adapt, and experiment. Gave a short print/book presentation yesterday as a way of attempting to emphasize why print is so important for photographers to come full circle with their work.
Making sense of an experience like this can be challenging. These trips tend to bring out far more than photography. A multi-sensory experience tends to bring out the full range of emotions. If photography is important then it takes concentration and emotional freedom to fully realize your best work, but it shouldn't take over from the general idea you are exploring new territory.
Great, a new puke story from uncle Dan!
Daniel, will you do us all a favour and make these videos 45mins to 1 hour runtime. I absolutely love your content, the comic element along with the doco/ nat geo feel is really fun and relaxing to watch. Yeah I. know it takes a lot of effort to make these, and you do a really good job. Cheers from Australia.
I would love to try that but would need to be alone and not part of a workshop to even attempt something like that.....but thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Lol decaying dead street dog! Softy!
Wonderful keep up the great work. Thank you so much. I’m learning a lot…

Wow Milnor, looking like some of your good old TriX - Leica spirit are coming back, or maybe never disappeared. You are looking great on those clips, happy, thrilled by anything happening... And by the way always super interesting in your words, your notes about what's happening around you... Damn, you filled my heart with great energy and great photographic motivation this morning ! (Yeah France is almost on the other side of the planet) can't wait to see what's next. Best regards
I'm coming to France next month......brace yourself.
cant say how much i appreciate all your creations and experiences, so honestly presented....as a 58 yr old novice, its a goldmine of perspective
Cool, good to know you are digging it.
I love the colours in your video footage and photos very much! I wish, I could do this. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You can. If I can do it anyone can, seriously.
tip for driver ! :-) but wasn't place to put the tip
👊👊🔥
That was so good! I love these travel vlogs. They take me away from my everyday grind for 15mins. Looks like photographic heaven there!
Ha, that works for me.
My favorite photographer in RUclips!!! ❤
Thank you
Milnor, the new replacement for MIA Itchy Boots. The advantage of Milnor, is he is a true photog
She is a beast!
All 'burgeoning modernity' aside, how the hell do you manage to compose while wearing sunglasses? Have you found the perfect shades that don't black-out a viewfinder?
I just got used to it. It does make things a bit more challenging but my eyes are so light sensitive.
Great to see some of Peru that are not picture postcard , really enjoying these visual diaries 😀
It's gritty but so lovely.
Good stuff! I loved seeing you work the scene of builders. The shot of the guy speckled in concrete was solid. I hope you guys get up to the Amazon! I was in Peru right as the pandemic was starting and missed out on Iquitos...
Not on this trip but was there before and will go again. Single most unique place I've been.
Nothing instils confidence like scratched windows on a plane. Although, which is worse. Them been on the Inside, or the outside?
why are they always scratched?
Just an amazing film ! LOVE the desert scene. Whoa. Your footage is so nice -- did you use an iPhone or ? I always super appreciate seeing your photos as well. Looks like a fantastic trip. Thank you for sharing with all of us.
I never use the phone for stills or motion. Don't like the experience. Insta360 Go3
With that low/moderate amount of applause you’d think everyone didn’t really care to live. Glad you guys made it in safe
ya, maybe some had seen enough....
It’s so nice to see some real life. Here in Finland nothing happens and if something does someone will complain why.
What action cam you are using?

Now I want to take one of your bloody workshops.
I have three upcoming, all different.
@@DANIELMILNOR505
I see Lebanon and Jordon at Creative Live Workshops, where is the other workshop?
I see that thing about tourists getting sick with food all the time here in Mexico City. Someone told them that street food is like the “super cool” way to travel and somehow “experience” the country “better” than the rest. And then that becomes a recipient for disaster.
There are a lot of healthy places to eat here but they want to feel “the spirit of the streets”. 😂
I've been seeing this happen since I first went abroad. Heard two idiots talking in a bar once. Competing about who could be the most daring. They both disappeared the following week. Now, with IG and TT it's even worse.
Raw, entertaining and simple! None of the Cinematic BS and EpicArt sound. Informative and a real cultural experience. Good on you Dan!
I don't even know how to do those things. Maybe thankfully......
Congrats on shooting with one hand and videoing with the other. The little things RUclips viewers don’t really appreciate 😀 …
Adds to the challenge, for sure.
9:46 Jeez, poor guy and poor you for having to hear it. lol
We held gum to our nose.
Great video as usual Daniel. Are you still using the GoPro for video or something else?
Insta 360
wait - no food photos?
I never photograph my food, but if was GOING to do so it would have been on this trip. The best food I've had, ever, anywhere.
Wow Milnor in Colour (get the rhyme?) while a favourite song of my youth plays in the background.
The world is tilting...
@@DANIELMILNOR505 😂
Hilarious commentary yet again, great fun. Welcome to my town! How was the birdwatching around the Ballestas, did you get both boobies & Inca tern, how about oystercatchers in the reserve? Did you find my friend Jacinto the Peruvian pelican on the beach at Paracas? Heard commentary about Larapa in the plane, that's near to where we live, you would have seen our place from the plane if you were sitting on the other side, live in the flight path, next to Makro & Maestro shopping blocks, bright blue roof - painted it like that on purpose. Cudos to the pilot, not easy to approach Cusco normally, never mind in bad weather. 2 flights left late around 11pm last night. Majeñios giving it stick in the Plaza, enjoy!
didnt' get to do much birdwatching. Did see Pelicans, Oystercatchers and more on the islands. Incredible place. It was an incredible trip and so different from twelve years ago.
Birding here is big, some real experts around. I ised rp eork with birding trips to Manu, now I'm an agent for Tambopata rainforest experiences, both birder's paradises.
My "young person moment was "authentic Tom Yum Soup" in Bangkok, thankfully i just had to "run" next door🤣🤫
Happens to us all....
This was a banger, crackin from beginning to end. It ticked the all the boxes for another 54 year old, you're right about the the youngers ,'youth is wasted on the young' pip pip amigo!
we must be related...
@@DANIELMILNOR505 Twins separated at birth? One destined for success in the USA, the other destined for..that's another story pip pip and enjoy!!
Oh Dan, you RUclips sweetheart you, filming yourself while shooting men at work, you ;) good one! Peru is on the top of my top 1 list places to go.. maybe if things go right, maybe.. in next year or two I'll put my hands on this tasty dog dish you were referring to 😅
Peru is worth the wait. Can't see it all unless you have a few years but anywhere you go will be worth it.
@@DANIELMILNOR505 I'm working a full time job so only 2-3 weeks available..
You Peruved your point, we should be there with you… 🤣🤣🤣
Oh, I see what you did there!
Do you see what I did? 🤣🤣🤣
I apologize if you have already answered this but what are the using for your vlog camera? Mahalo!

@@DANIELMILNOR505 Perfect!!! I thought so by the shadows of the camera in the sand dunes footage! Thanks again!!!
Hey Daniel, noticed you have been defaulting to the Fuji and not the Leica Q2, is there a reason?
I don't own a Leica Q2. I do now own a Nikon Zf which has replaced my Fuji X100V. (my wife uses it now)
@@DANIELMILNOR505 really? I had the idea you got one after this training session in Albania.
Sold my Fuji XS10 (great camera btw) and looking for one that is simple, yet durable, with decent battery and rugged, like a cheaper Leica 😅 maybe stuck with the XT models.
I would never spend that kind of money on a camera. The Nikon was $1800 and frankly outperforms the Leica. If file size is a critical need then perhaps the Q3 would be an option but for me, 24MP is plenty. @@bronzepodcast
File size not critical at all. Do you have any video on the M4/3 gear? Think I never seen you comment on those smaller cameras and since you are minimalist and straight to the point, do those cameras for example Olympus, ring any bells?@@DANIELMILNOR505
I have fond memories of Cusco, where I spent three days in a clinic being treated for acute mountain sickness. That altitude change from Lima to Cusco is brutal. I'm enjoying the double exposures but perhaps just some straight photography too?
There was straight. And I always do both.
Cool Dan. Rod Stewart may not be playing there, but The Village People played on Cusco's Plaza a few nights ago, so you never know 😂
I think I might have witnessed that.
Really enjoyed this one Dan….but not nearly as much as you are! What an amazing trip this has turned out to be. The bonus is learning from your shots and the positioning of the camera for the light.
Just got back. Incredible voyage this year.
Forget photography as a career, I want that dune buggy drivers job at about 7 minutes in. Awesome story of your flight in to Cusco, lol. Ok, back to watching the rest of your video. Thanks Dan!
Dune drivers, no seatbelt required.
