  • "He doesn't have the balls to come into my office alone. He comes with his manager, with Honda, and in front of all the cameras (...) See this is how you destroy our sport.".... Valentino Rossi 🇮🇹 went from being Marc Márquez's 🇪🇸 idol to becoming his wildest archenemy due to kicks in the middle of races, snubs in the middle of press conferences, and a rivalry that is growing more and more both on and off the track.

the same for me ... huge respect for them ... I think the problem oof Val with Marc is 2015 ...u cannot destroy the Valentino's dream of winning the 10th title in that dirty way. I'm a fan of him (Valentino) but been neutral Marc in 2015 was too so dirty in seeping race ( where Valentino DIDN't kick Marc) and also in the last race , Valencia 2015 when Marc didn't win the race on purpose. I follow Moto gp since I was 6 yo and I've never seen a rider with that ugly behavior of Marc ...

He didn't kick marquez but him ran him so wide in that bend while the whole time looking over at him, he lost the plot! Forgot he was even in a race and turned to just wanting to knock mm off his bike, mother of all hissy fits lol
And Rossi should have kept his mouth shut, throwing accusations around and expecting no comeback, he got his ass handed to him! It was a long time coming

You obviously didn't see the on track interaction in 2015. It was plain for everyone to see. 93 wasn't in championship contention that year. 93, on purpose interfered unnecessarily with 46. anyone with an open mind saw that. 93 could have been at the front of the races but instead deliberately slowed 46 down. Which riders has 46 sabotaged?

The following are not my words. They are from another commenter on here. Please read it with an open mind and let everyone know if your disagree with it.
Well, as far as I remember, the situation as reported by Rossi was the following. Rossi had information that Lorenzo and Marquez got together probably the week before that fateful race and they agreed that Marquez would help him in getting the championship against Rossi. Then, during the race we witnessed a breathtaking battle, when Rossi and Marquez were changing positions all the time. At least for the public (?). From the point of view of Rossi, Marquez was playing a game, his motorbike was far quicker, but he kept allowing Rossi to pass and then overtaking him the next corner. Rossi got mad at that and finally slowed down to show he knew Marquez was trying to ruin his pace and then the accident happened. As far as I'm concerned, Marquez never was so clear about it, never said that Rossi was crazy to suppose that. If it did happen, I think that Marquez did a huge mistake and probably did not take advice from.other people. So, when you see the accident, don't think Rossi was childish or not playing fair, he really thought he was absolutely right based on the story he heard about Marquez agreeing on helping his compatriot to get the title for Spain.

Rossi always played dirty with riders who were able to challenge him and beat him. Provoke them on and off the track was part of Rossi's mind games. That worked wonders on rivals like Gibernau and Biaggi, but Stoner, Lorenzo and Marquez were not ruffled as easily. The day Rossi lost the 2015 world title was in Sepang press conference when he came up with his delusional conspiracy theory that Marc was helping Lorenzo even when he took 5 points away from Lorenzo by beating him on the last lap in Australia. Lorenzo was faster and comfortably beating Rossi in the 2nd half of the season and Rossi needed a scapegoat which was Marquez. However it spectacularly backfired on Rossi himself the next day!! No rider would take an insult like that and not retaliate in the race. We all know how that went as Rossi lost his head and ran Marquez off track!!

I stand by my last statement 100%.
His irresponsible behaviour out on track, crashing into others by arriving at corners 50 mph too fast. His bike is not great at the moment. Teams rise, and teams fall. That's racing. It's just how it is.
Saying, "I would rather fall off and try to win," is a primadonna statement in itself. There have always been riders in Motogp that have always known that they may never win a race but would never compromise their fellow competitors or themselves.
If Marc doesn't grow up, he is going to do himself, others, or both, a serious injury or far worse.

Wait, wait. This narrative is not accurate. The rivalry became much before Sepang 2015, plus there is much more to say on that race and the previous one about the behavior of Marquez. It is impossibile to summarize everything without misleading people on 4:44 minutes. The “kick” itself was explained in a misleading way. Marquez did not fall because of Rossi kicking him, but because he insisted in accelerating against him while leaned right. When he touched him of course he fell and Rossi’s knee lost contact with its supporting lever giving the impression of a kick.
If you see the scene from the above, it is quite clear… I don’t know how long you follow MotoGP, but this narration is biased.
Rossi was correctly penalized in Valencia for leading Marquez wide , creating a dangerous situation, but not for the kick because no kick was ever given, quite the opposite instead.

What a bullshit spanish biased video, first of all there was no "kick": if you watch what happend frame by frame you can see Rossi's leg went off the bike AFTER Marquez was already falling down. But what we are really missing here is what made it happen: Rossi was pissed by Marq slowing him down making hard overtakes and then letting Rossi pass just to do it again and again when he had a far better pace, helping Lorenzo this way. That's not all folks, the following race (last of the season) with Rossi starting last from the grid due to the penalisation Marq bodyguarded Lorenzo all the race, never attenpting an overtake on him (when he was clearly faster), in the end it was so ridiculus that Pedrosa closed the gap on them but Marq made an hard move on him to keep ot back (Rossi would still have won the title in Lorenzo didn't win the race). Why he did all of that? Who knows, probably to avoid Rossi winning the 10th title because it would have became even harder to beat that record. What is clear is that such an unsportsmenship was never seen in this sport and hopefully we'll never see again.
